Curtis, you should get AUTEL to post an explanation on their site of the differences between: MaxiSYS, MaxiDAS, MaxiCHECK, MaxiPro, MaxiCOM, etc. Really, I think flying an aircraft with one engine out in bad weather is easier. Also, on the AUTEL site, the "Where To Buy' is severely lacking. It only shows me O-Reilly's in upstate NY. It should list all authorized dealers.

Great video which has given me the answers to all the questions I’ve been wondering about for a few years now, your a top man. I’ve been looking at the maxysys 908p for a long time now but simply can’t afford to by a new one. I had been put off buying a good legit used one because I thought I would have to buy multiple subscriptions to get the tool back up to date. Nothing can be more confusing than the countless diagnostic models (from AUTEL alone) and what they can and cannot do. This video was helpful in that as a serious DIYer (nobody touches my cars and motorcycles) that performs maintenance on my own vehicles, I cannot afford a subscription every year. Though what gets me is at 1:42 why would I get a subcription to fix a software bug? Then at 9:30, I would not want AUTEL to remove a feature unless they have an updated one to replace it with NOW and not later when I need to buy a subscription to get it back. Sounds like some slick big-three corporate mentality to me. I am considering a MaxiPro MP808TS where I would use maybe half the maintenance functions but some of this Autel corporateocracy is leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
Charge a consult fee to guide someone to buy the right tool from you seems like a good gig for you. Not sure why anyone would do that. It should be part of the what you offer when someone is buying from you
Ok so and this is from the start of the video we are off to a bad start. Subscriptions what u are getting, u are getting possible fix for bugs that auto detect vehicle by vin, So you think its fair to charge someone to fix something that was broke when we got it or broke after updating it? it the users responsibility to fix something they bought that should be working from the start or at the very least fixed for free when a fix comes out. I get charging for updated information of cars but at the bare minimum basic operations of the device should be something covered by manufacture.

I have noticed the Ultra will say the VCMI will not work until new update is downloaded.It appears that Autel can lock you out of use with this method as soon as your subscription expires.I'm wondering if each VCMI update is set up on a timer.If a person cannot afford a subscription at the time of subscription expiration,they can be locked out.Why is there no information on Autel Ultra backup?Making me nervous!

Could you create a future video to show viewers whether or not after software subscription expiration, if you did a factory reset to the tool, the proper way if any to install the scan folder backup in a manner that the tool will allow you to access Diagnostic software again afterwards without renewing update subscription?
I may have missed the answer and if so my apologies, but once my subscription is out of date I know my manufacturer's warranty is no longer intact...Let's say I let my subscription stay expired for 6 months and then decide to purchase an annual subscription. At the point that I install my annual subscription is my manufacturer's warranty reinstated? And if so how long can I let my scanner be out of subscription before I must update it to insure the updates are legit and the manufacturer's warranty is intact?

Hello, for the past 2 weeks I have been looking at the Autel MK 808. to buy... There is absolutely no correct information explaining if the tool can perform on a Renault Megane 2017. The only information available is it may work, it may not. It will not explain what it definitely can do, only that it should be able. Every video showing how it works and what it can do, never show it working on up to date cars. up to date meaning ... 2010/ 2018.. it is always older models. Autel need to show exactly and clearly what each diagnostic tool can do

I've had my MP808TS since 2018 expired in 2019. I just started programming TPMS sensors for an 08 GMC 315Mhz, Got 2 sensors done. Then on 3rd it gives an error saying need to update device...Others have claimed theirs is locked...can't do anything...I'm done with Autel
Im sorry my friend. I didnt sell you that tool and none of my clients reported this issue to me.. Just like car ECU, some times the only way to get rid of an error code, you need to update the software on the module . The same applies to most diagnostic tools.. I only recommend updating them when you have a problem that only an update can fix

The VCI Flash Elite is 9-32v and the same model offered in the 908CV why are you saying the CV software can't be put on the Maxisys Elite, because it doesn't care what Battery potential if the Unit Under Test? And what "value" do you offer by higher prices for subscription renewal??
HI Armondo. Im talking about the input voltage. The maxisys Elite input voltage is DC/12V/3A the MS908 CV is 12 V (9-24 V). As stated the models have different hardware levels. And the reason why I said the the CV software cannot be transfered to the Elite .. is because thats what the engineer who made the software told me. Im relaying information from the source and I actually work with the tools daily . Lastly im not going to try and pursuade my "value" to you. Reason being is because I dont know your situation to tailor a sevice that you value. And second... even if I gave you 10 reason why.. you probably made a cognitive decision already that whatever I say isnt going to be percieved as valuable . I dont want to waiste your time. Now that the guy closed shop... i cant update the unit because he did the registration and has the account log in info. Can i Re-register the unit so i could get control of updating it ?

Can updates resolve bluetooth connectivity problems? It's the 906BT, bluetooth on the device won't stay on. Check the VCI it works perfectly fine, connect using another tool and my cell phone. Appears to be a software issue, when i check "Es file explorer" the bluetooth folders empty. Just want to varify before purchasing an update.

You touched on the subject of backing up data before the subscription runs out, but there's something many folks do not have an answer for: If i back up the scan folder , then reset the tablet to factory defaults, after the fresh reset will it be enough to just drag back the scan folder to the same location? Or will the Autel default maxisys applications (scan, update, maxicloud, scope, etc) dissapear? I am talking a fresh factory reset from the Android tablet menu which should resolve all the tablet lag, will it be safe if i just restore the "scan" folder ? One of the tool trucks that stops by our dealership told me to be careful because ppl/websites are selling fake Autel scanners and when you go to update, autel will see that it’s not authentic and will delete all software from unit. Is this true? Also advised me NOT by from Amazon due because they don’t warranty or it could be fake?
He is partially telling the truth but the way he is using this "fear" tactic to you is what some vendors do to encourage you to purchase through them. Here the facts : All the tools come from AUTEL headquarters in china. Autel China has online distributors and offline distributors. Most of the online distributors are from China. The challenge most consumers have is not being able to decipher which is an international distributor vs a US seller. If you purchase from an international seller that is overseas, your tool will not work in the USA as it will have an IP block. Some international sellers offer tools that will work in USA but since Autel new york did not import the tool directly from Autel China, they will not give support on the tool as its from an international seller. I have a video on the dangers of buying on amazon you can check out. But what I can advise for you is.. If you just want to get a tool and make sure its a usa unit get it locally from your tool truck. If you want to benefit from the tool then I can sell it to you directly.. If you are just looking for the lowest price and want to self diagnose which seller is usa based etc get it on amazon.

hi i have a autel ms906bt, im having problems,lol when i use it on like from 2012-2015 gm vehicles, the tool doesnt show like ecm,,trans,body control,for selection, its 1 2 3 and blank beside the number instead of showing what controller i need to pick to retrieve the information where i need to go, dont have that problem with other manufacture brands only gm like equinox ...help would be appreciated...thanks
That I would need to check remotely. What I would do first is contact autel new york when your diagnosing those vehicles then have them do a data logging. it could be a number of factors but its hard to tool with out logging in.
I currently have several targets needed for performing adas alignments. I want to get into a scan tool instead of performing J2534 calibrations. How can I get an Autel scan tool with the ADAS software but not have to purchase the calibration kit. I see in the video you said it is not possible but I've heard that you can. Any clarity on this issue would be great.
HI Chandler, I have some clients who are doing certain adas calibrations with the MS906PRO. Most of the calibrations he does are dynamic which the autel mostly can do. The times that he runs into a static calibration , he will with make his Target manually according to the OEM . He recently had a situation were he was trying to do a calibration but it was not supported. When I did a data logging , my engineer said in order for him to do that calibration he would need to purchase the adas software and adas kit. So to answer your question you can do some dynamic calibrations and some static if you make your own target but to get full access to the ADAS software you need to purchase the adas kit and software unfortunately .
I need an update. I was told i would get my 1st one free after the purchase. I had the ownership transferred to my account. But TS wont provide me my coupon for update now.
@@AutelConsultancy Yes, ebay purchase. I called in and had the serial checked for authenticity. During that call the guy said get the ownership transferred because its already registered. Then as a new customer we will credit you an update and sub for a year. But hold out as long as you can to use it because they're not cheap.

So what I am understanding is this is a used unit and when you purchased it , autel said they would transfer this serial number to your account and then you would get another full year up updates? Usually if you purchase a used unit and lets say has been registered for 5 months already... Even though you transferred the serial in your name.. The update subscription will still be the same ( it doesn't restart and give you a new one) Your just taking over the existing account and what ever update is left over. Personally I am not a huge fan of buying used equipment due to the fact that most people do it with the intentions of saving money.. but with all the hidden problems that comes with used equipment ( including updates) you end up spending more than if you just purchased a new one. I would only purchase an update for your tool if you run into a problem that only an update can fix.
@@AutelConsultancy You got the jist of the situation. Being more of a hobbyist and doing work for close friends. I was iffy about going brand new. Seemed cost prohibitive. But, the $1200 for the used 908 unit and the promise of an update whenever I decided I needed it. I jumped on board. Love the unit. Very little to complain about. Actually the only complaints I have are the rubberized coating on the back of the case has turned a little sticky. Along with the pickle I'm in with newer vehicles. Since 2020s are coming off of warranty. So I finally tracked down the proof of purchase to get the unit transferred over figuring it's time to get my software in order. But, I'm getting burned for the very reason I signed up in the first place.

HI Curtis, I tested this MaxiPro MP808TS on Mercedes-Benz which does not have any ERROR MESSAGES / WARNING LIGHTS ETC on the car, but the scanner came up with codes Item Fault Code Fault description Comment 1 P13C523 The error only appeared in Motor Electonics 'MED40'. There are 2 errors in MED40: P13C523 A short-term torque limitation was detected by the knock control. No signal change: Voltage level is too low Stored 2. P06DA00 The actuation of the Oil Pump valve in the combustion engine has an open circuit or other electrical faults: Current also the did a maintenance OIL-RESET, since the car was due to a service and the service was carried out, but wanted the testing purposes I wanted to utilise the AUTEL-SCANNER (MaxiPro MP808TS); Sure enough the it communicated blagh-blagh completed, then on the car dasboard console came up with the "SERVICE A4 OVERDUE BY 365 days " ;; I am surprised that a scanner wrth AUS$1600.00 is malfunctioning and as far as I can tell the wrong DIAGNOSTICS; I would appreciate your feedback/experience on the above: Thank You in Advance P.S. currently I am going through the updates , boy it is not only very slow DOWNLOADING but EVEN MORE SLOW ON INSTALLING.
Hmm, I could be wrong but you might not have the right diagnostic equipment . Personaly I dont have faith in stage 1 tools. ( but I could be wrong) Its really hard to validate the problem with out logging in. You would need to contact your seller to see if they can help. My conclusion as a philosopher is That, Companies that works on these parameters and complications are no more professional scammers. I am sure that there are other tools that do the job and you don't have to pay yearly subscriptions and extra money for specific software . Also you have to use your common sense to solve problems instead of being depending on others.
I have ms906 out if update by two years. The tools own search box stopped working. Always harassed by tool out of date message. That is not fair. The search box i paid for. And it never shows the icons in alphabetical order. Takes time to find your manufacturers logo to click to proceed.
You do realize the automakers are the ones charging yearly licensing fees, R&D, etc? I'm not defending Autel's horrible product structure but people who want everything for free like you usually end up with the 10 dollar obd 2 dongles

Hi Curtis, thank you for your advice regarding Autel subscription. I'm a workshop owner in Australia and I found very hard to get info about Autel scanner functions and capabilities. To be honest with you the corded devices are limited in special functions. It also restricst movement . What I would be asking instead is which tool solves the problems that my solus does not. You can always connect a USB cable to the blue tooth vci to make it corded
ive been a tech for 47 yrs and retired at 65 yrs old so i no longer work earning money with my tool but i bought the autel so i could work on my own corvettes i have three vettes a 77 with a 2000 corvette ls1 and computer system installed a 2000 vette and a 2012 vette. and i thought i would have access to the data i needed to work on these cars . i did not know the tool would quit working after the software subscription died. i thought i would still have a working tool with the software i already bought with the tool but that was not the case .why cant you still use the tool without updating to newer vehicles. the software should continue to work for what you already purchased it for. charging a grand a year is not reasonable to someone not earning money with it anymore. i guess its my fault for not researching more about how the company works. but it is what it is. if i ever find a way around the subscription bs i will gladly post it for all to use, and believe me im looking . its another chinese way of screwing over everyone that buys their stuff.

This Autel company is such a runaround .. Registration Authentication.. Transfer from one owner Passwords Accounts .. I tried to use one of these units on my 2001 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L V8 to check my ABS Module unit do to a ABS service light on. There was a failure to read notification on the autel Unit stating it could not communicate with my ABS module. I was told the unit is not compatible with the year, make and model of my vehicle. So, will there be a unit or update that will allow the unit to be compatible or would I just haft to start purchasing vehicles that are only compatible with your Autel units? Im asking myself what's the purpose of purchasing a unit that is not compatible to customer preferred vehicles? Autel Engineers should have enough knowledge to figure out a way to solve these types of problems with compatibilities right?

I manage my clients updates and most of their tools are deactivated ( meaning their 1 year subscription is not being used) They are able to use the tool and get results. They just are not able to program for bmw or benz. I dont see why you wont be able to use the tool when you out of an update.
Can you stack your subscription? For example can i just buy 2 one year subscriptions and add them to my account, potentially extending my coverage until 2022?

I’m independent garage owner and most of the time we deal with domestic and Asian makes and every now and then we get rare Modules replacement and key programming jobs. i bought an maximIM 608 pro, and i was able to work years from 1999 up to 2020 just fine i had two year subscription, during that time, worked wonders i even realized a few SPS programming on GM , key programming, on nissan, ford,honda,and toyota. after my subscription expired, i lost comm with vehicles 1999 up to 2008 but years 2008 up to 2020 still working wonders so far, even with subcription expired. do not know if you keep it up to date, you do not loose any function i wish i could get an answer on that before buying another tool just to fill that need 1999 up to 2008 my experience i had an snap on verus and it is very limited

So there is a password lock when you start the tool? If so im not sure if you can bypass it. There might be a way but it may be a sofisticated process in order to do it. When I get the chance aill ask my engneer

A dealer told me if I buy the total care card and is up to date that if anything happens to the scanner for instance it falls off a lift and breaks that autell will fix it or replace it is this true
Generally speaking they will handle repairs ( software related and hardware) but it might be tricky if you damaged the unit ( like falling from the roof of the car) Some cases if its not repairable then they will probably tell you to buy a new one. If you trust your dealer, tell him the problem and have him make sure if you purchase the update it will be able to get repaired.

I bought an elite with no software.i emailed autel support with screen shots of someone selling a total care card.for goodprice .online .they said is ok as long as it matches my tool in my case an elite. but why is this cheaper then buying it straight through autel.? Also whats the difference are we getting less programs or less functions.? and Whats the sd card for? Do i need it prior buying the update\subscription? Thank you God bless
I have had some clients take the cheaper route and it ended up being more expensive. Some cards are legit some are not. I guess what your paying is for certainty. And maybe they might offer something in their update card package.

Curtis, you should get AUTEL to post an explanation on their site of the differences between: MaxiSYS, MaxiDAS, MaxiCHECK, MaxiPro, MaxiCOM, etc. Really, I think flying an aircraft with one engine out in bad weather is easier. Also, on the AUTEL site, the "Where To Buy' is severely lacking. It only shows me O-Reilly's in upstate NY. It should list all authorized dealers.
My conclusion as a philosopher is that, companies that works on these parameters and complications are no more THAN professional scammers.

Nothing can be more confusing than the countless diagnostic models (from AUTEL alone) and what they can and cannot do. This video was helpful in that as a serious DIYer (nobody touches my cars and motorcycles) that performs maintenance on my own vehicles, I cannot afford a subscription every year. Though what gets me is at 1:42 why would I get a subcription to fix a software bug? Then at 9:30, I would not want AUTEL to remove a feature unless they have an updated one to replace it with NOW and not later when I need to buy a subscription to get it back. Sounds like some slick big-three corporate mentality to me. I am considering a MaxiPro MP808TS where I would use maybe half the maintenance functions but some of this Autel corporateocracy is leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

Ok so and this is from the start of the video we are off to a bad start. Subscriptions what u are getting, u are getting possible fix for bugs that auto detect vehicle by vin, So you think its fair to charge someone to fix something that was broke when we got it or broke after updating it? it the users responsibility to fix something they bought that should be working from the start or at the very least fixed for free when a fix comes out. I get charging for updated information of cars but at the bare minimum basic operations of the device should be something covered by manufacture.

I have noticed the Ultra will say the VCMI will not work until new update is downloaded.It appears that Autel can lock you out of use with this method as soon as your subscription expires.I'm wondering if each VCMI update is set up on a timer.If a person cannot afford a subscription at the time of subscription expiration,they can be locked out.Why is there no information on Autel Ultra backup?Making me nervous!

I may have missed the answer and if so my apologies, but once my subscription is out of date I know my manufacturer's warranty is no longer intact...Let's say I let my subscription stay expired for 6 months and then decide to purchase an annual subscription. At the point that I install my annual subscription is my manufacturer's warranty reinstated? And if so how long can I let my scanner be out of subscription before I must update it to insure the updates are legit and the manufacturer's warranty is intact?

Hello, for the past 2 weeks I have been looking at the Autel MK 808. to buy... There is absolutely no correct information explaining if the tool can perform on a Renault Megane 2017. The only information available is it may work, it may not. It will not explain what it definitely can do, only that it should be able. Every video showing how it works and what it can do, never show it working on up to date cars. up to date meaning ... 2010/ 2018.. it is always older models. Autel need to show exactly and clearly what each diagnostic tool can do

I've had my MP808TS since 2018 expired in 2019. I just started programming TPMS sensors for an 08 GMC 315Mhz, Got 2 sensors done. Then on 3rd it gives an error saying need to update device...Others have claimed theirs is locked...can't do anything...I'm done with Autel
Im sorry my friend. I didnt sell you that tool and none of my clients reported this issue to me.. Just like car ECU, some times the only way to get rid of an error code, you need to update the software on the module . The same applies to most diagnostic tools.. I only recommend updating them when you have a problem that only an update can fix

The VCI Flash Elite is 9-32v and the same model offered in the 908CV why are you saying the CV software can't be put on the Maxisys Elite, because it doesn't care what Battery potential if the Unit Under Test? And what "value" do you offer by higher prices for subscription renewal??
HI Armondo. Im talking about the input voltage. The maxisys Elite input voltage is DC/12V/3A the MS908 CV is 12 V (9-24 V). As stated the models have different hardware levels. And the reason why I said the the CV software cannot be transfered to the Elite .. is because thats what the engineer who made the software told me. Im relaying information from the source and I actually work with the tools daily . Lastly im not going to try and pursuade my "value" to you. Reason being is because I dont know your situation to tailor a sevice that you value. And second... even if I gave you 10 reason why.. you probably made a cognitive decision already that whatever I say isnt going to be percieved as valuable . I dont want to waiste your time. Can updates resolve bluetooth connectivity problems? It's the 906BT, bluetooth on the device won't stay on. Check the VCI it works perfectly fine, connect using another tool and my cell phone. Appears to be a software issue, when i check "Es file explorer" the bluetooth folders empty. Just want to varify before purchasing an update.

You touched on the subject of backing up data before the subscription runs out, but there's something many folks do not have an answer for:
If i back up the scan folder , then reset the tablet to factory defaults, after the fresh reset will it be enough to just drag back the scan folder to the same location?
Or will the Autel default maxisys applications (scan, update, maxicloud, scope, etc) dissapear?
I am talking a fresh factory reset from the Android tablet menu which should resolve all the tablet lag, will it be safe if i just restore the "scan" folder ?

One of the tool trucks that stops by our dealership told me to be careful because ppl/websites are selling fake Autel scanners and when you go to update, autel will see that it’s not authentic and will delete all software from unit. Is this true? Also advised me NOT by from Amazon due because they don’t warranty or it could be fake?
He is partially telling the truth but the way he is using this "fear" tactic to you is what some vendors do to encourage you to purchase through them. Here the facts : All the tools come from AUTEL headquarters in china. Autel China has online distributors and offline distributors. Most of the online distributors are from China. The challenge most consumers have is not being able to decipher which is an international distributor vs a US seller. If you purchase from an international seller that is overseas, your tool will not work in the USA as it will have an IP block. Some international sellers offer tools that will work in USA but since Autel new york did not import the tool directly from Autel China, they will not give support on the tool as its from an international seller. I have a video on the dangers of buying on amazon you can check out. But what I can advise for you is.. If you just want to get a tool and make sure its a usa unit get it locally from your tool truck. If you want to benefit from the tool then I can sell it to you directly.. If you are just looking for the lowest price and want to self diagnose which seller is usa based etc get it on amazon.

hi i have a autel ms906bt, im having problems,lol when i use it on like from 2012-2015 gm vehicles, the tool doesnt show like ecm,,trans,body control,for selection, its 1 2 3 and blank beside the number instead of showing what controller i need to pick to retrieve the information where i need to go, dont have that problem with other manufacture brands only gm like equinox ...help would be appreciated...thanks
That I would need to check remotely. What I would do first is contact autel new york when your diagnosing those vehicles then have them do a data logging. it could be a number of factors but its hard to tool with out logging in.
I currently have several targets needed for performing adas alignments. I want to get into a scan tool instead of performing J2534 calibrations. How can I get an Autel scan tool with the ADAS software but not have to purchase the calibration kit. I see in the video you said it is not possible but I've heard that you can. Any clarity on this issue would be great.
HI Chandler, I have some clients who are doing certain adas calibrations with the MS906PRO. Most of the calibrations he does are dynamic which the autel mostly can do. The times that he runs into a static calibration , he will with make his Target manually according to the OEM . He recently had a situation were he was trying to do a calibration but it was not supported. When I did a data logging , my engineer said in order for him to do that calibration he would need to purchase the adas software and adas kit. So to answer your question you can do some dynamic calibrations and some static if you make your own target but to get full access to the ADAS software you need to purchase the adas kit and software unfortunately .

@@AutelConsultancy Yes, ebay purchase. I called in and had the serial checked for authenticity. During that call the guy said get the ownership transferred because its already registered. Then as a new customer we will credit you an update and sub for a year. But hold out as long as you can to use it because they're not cheap.

So what I am understanding is this is a used unit and when you purchased it , autel said they would transfer this serial number to your account and then you would get another full year up updates? Usually if you purchase a used unit and lets say has been registered for 5 months already... Even though you transferred the serial in your name.. The update subscription will still be the same ( it doesn't restart and give you a new one) Your just taking over the existing account and what ever update is left over. Personally I am not a huge fan of buying used equipment due to the fact that most people do it with the intentions of saving money.. but with all the hidden problems that comes with used equipment ( including updates) you end up spending more than if you just purchased a new one. I would only purchase an update for your tool if you run into a problem that only an update can fix.
@@AutelConsultancy You got the jist of the situation. Being more of a hobbyist and doing work for close friends. I was iffy about going brand new. Seemed cost prohibitive. But, the $1200 for the used 908 unit and the promise of an update whenever I decided I needed it. I jumped on board. Love the unit. Very little to complain about. Actually the only complaints I have are the rubberized coating on the back of the case has turned a little sticky. Along with the pickle I'm in with newer vehicles. Since 2020s are coming off of warranty. So I finally tracked down the proof of purchase to get the unit transferred over figuring it's time to get my software in order. But, I'm getting burned for the very reason I signed up in the first place.

I tested this MaxiPro MP808TS on Mercedes-Benz which does not have any ERROR MESSAGES / WARNING LIGHTS ETC on the car, but the scanner came up with codes

also the did a maintenance OIL-RESET, since the car was due to a service and the service was carried out, but wanted the testing purposes I wanted to utilise the AUTEL-SCANNER (MaxiPro MP808TS); Sure enough the it communicated blagh-blagh completed, then on the car dasboard console came up with the "SERVICE A4 OVERDUE BY 365 days " ;;
I am surprised that a scanner wrth AUS$1600.00 is malfunctioning and as far as I can tell the wrong DIAGNOSTICS;

As I know, existing coding function will be stoped if you don't update it. It is very rediculous policy.
I have ms906 out if update by two years. The tools own search box stopped working. Always harassed by tool out of date message. That is not fair. The search box i paid for. And it never shows the icons in alphabetical order. Takes time to find your manufacturers logo to click to proceed.
You do realize the automakers are the ones charging yearly licensing fees, R&D, etc? I'm not defending Autel's horrible product structure but people who want everything for free like you usually end up with the 10 dollar obd 2 dongles

To be honest with you the corded devices are limited in special functions. It also restricst movement . What I would be asking instead is which tool solves the problems that my solus does not. You can always connect a USB cable to the blue tooth vci to make it corded

ive been a tech for 47 yrs and retired at 65 yrs old so i no longer work earning money with my tool but i bought the autel so i could work on my own corvettes i have three vettes a 77 with a 2000 corvette ls1 and computer system installed a 2000 vette and a 2012 vette. and i thought i would have access to the data i needed to work on these cars . i did not know the tool would quit working after the software subscription died. i thought i would still have a working tool with the software i already bought with the tool but that was not the case .why cant you still use the tool without updating to newer vehicles. the software should continue to work for what you already purchased it for. charging a grand a year is not reasonable to someone not earning money with it anymore. i guess its my fault for not researching more about how the company works. but it is what it is. if i ever find a way around the subscription bs i will gladly post it for all to use, and believe me im looking . its another chinese way of screwing over everyone that buys their stuff.

My autel ds708 sd card says not much when I want to update and it's not communicating at all
Autel stopped support on this model several years ago. It will be difficult to get it serviced. You might need to purchase a new tool unfortunately
And this is why I didn't buy an Autel tool, because I'm not paying a subscription when I've already bought the tool. Went with launch instead because of this.

I tried to use one of these units on my 2001 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L V8 to check my ABS Module unit do to a ABS service light on. There was a failure to read notification on the autel Unit stating it could not communicate with my ABS module. I was told the unit is not compatible with the year, make and model of my vehicle. So, will there be a unit or update that will allow the unit to be compatible or would I just haft to start purchasing vehicles that are only compatible with your Autel units? Im asking myself what's the purpose of purchasing a unit that is not compatible to customer preferred vehicles? Autel Engineers should have enough knowledge to figure out a way to solve these types of problems with compatibilities right?

I used the 906 BT. Apparently according to the list it is not compatible to that year. I guess it’s a ford manufacturer restriction or something.
Odd. A bad power or ground to the ABS unit will cause this issue.

Is it possible to update a my908 with a ms908? Or are they completely different?
So will my scanner be at least a basic OBD2 reader until i can afford update,
I manage my clients updates and most of their tools are deactivated ( meaning their 1 year subscription is not being used) They are able to use the tool and get results. They just are not able to program for bmw or benz. I dont see why you wont be able to use the tool when you out of an update.
Can you stack your subscription? For example can i just buy 2 one year subscriptions and add them to my account, potentially extending my coverage until 2022?

Hi Curtis. Question pls. I’m planning to buy NEW Autel IM608 Pro. Would the software that comes with it be up to date to the very latest Software? I’m independent garage owner and most of the time we deal with domestic and Asian makes and every now and then we get rare Modules replacement and key programming jobs. Would this tool be somehow we can relay on to tackle some of those jobs. We currently own Snap On Verus edge but we want to add autel IM 608 Pro as a second tool. Pls let me know what you think ? i bought an maximIM 608 pro, and i was able to work years from 1999 up to 2020 just fine i had two year subscription, during that time, worked wonders i even realized a few SPS programming on GM , key programming, on nissan, ford,honda,and toyota. after my subscription expired, i lost comm with vehicles 1999 up to 2008 but years 2008 up to 2020 still working wonders so far, even with subcription expired. do not know if you keep it up to date, you do not loose any function i wish i could get an answer on that before buying another tool just to fill that need 1999 up to 2008 my experience i had an snap on verus and it is very limited

HI Bud.. I honestly cant give you an answer with out diagnosing your properly. There are 8 different tool that might have that feature. If you book a consultation with me I can ask you more questions and get the vin number to ask my engineer which autel will have that feature.

Hello Curtis, I recently bought an expired contract autel MaxiCom Mk808 from someone in the US with the hope to renew his contract and use his diagnostic scan in my workshop but unfortunately I didn't ask for his password and since then I have not been able to use the device. I would like to know if there any hope of using this device some day?
So there is a password lock when you start the tool? If so im not sure if you can bypass it. There might be a way but it may be a sofisticated process in order to do it. When I get the chance aill ask my engneer
hi i have a im608 my subcription is finished . i try to do mercedes all keys lost and i keep getting error code 11003 registration authentication expired does this mean i have to update the unit to use it for this function many thanks

Get a TopDon unit and the updates are free for life.
A dealer told me if I buy the total care card and is up to date that if anything happens to the scanner for instance it falls off a lift and breaks that autell will fix it or replace it is this true
Generally speaking they will handle repairs ( software related and hardware) but it might be tricky if you damaged the unit ( like falling from the roof of the car) Some cases if its not repairable then they will probably tell you to buy a new one. If you trust your dealer, tell him the problem and have him make sure if you purchase the update it will be able to get repaired.

I bought an elite with no software.i emailed autel support with screen shots of someone selling a total care card.for goodprice .online .they said is ok as long as it matches my tool in my case an elite. but why is this cheaper then buying it straight through autel.? Also whats the difference are we getting less programs or less functions.? and Whats the sd card for? Do i need it prior buying the update\subscription? Thank you God bless
I have had some clients take the cheaper route and it ended up being more expensive. Some cards are legit some are not. I guess what your paying is for certainty. And maybe they might offer something in their update card package.

Hey Jax. Unfortunetly not. To do Ford Progrmming you need to purchase fords sofware and use a laptop / j2534 to do the programming.
