    Ah yes I agree. My take away and paraphrase of Krishnamurti's words here:
    The whole world is configured to hurt...not you...but your image. Image stands in the way of your attention. It's lind of a noise, a friction in the human body mind system. As you build your attentional skills by focusing on anything, even for 10 seconds at a time, fully absorbed in it, the image dissolves. Now there's no noise, no friction breaking up the attention. And look, "poof", no more hurt. No more system that is designed to hurt you and break you. Nothing to be angry about. Instead of learning to defend yourself against the system, learn to train your attention. Focusing , paying attention to great beauty, in nature, in art, in music is a great way to master attention. Thanks for posting the Krishnamurti talk.

      So you want to cultivate attention? rather go via negativa find out whats distracting you and stay with them in awareness without any form of control. There is no effort in this but our conditioned mind wants control wants effort thats why trying to cultivate attention seems to be an easier thing to do. Its another trap set by the ego. The ego excels in subtlety. The ego is highly dodgy . It doesnt want you to make contact with it at the deepest possible level. So you can never completely perceive it. Its the master of deflection.
      The human mind is enslaved and has been since time memorial. Therefore your thoughts and feelings are a part of ego's arsenal which in turn affects the physical brain - the neural network and pathways are conditioned. So you see what we are dealing with? But it is we who feed the ego and bring its wrath upon ourselves through lack of awareness. That doesnt mean we cultivate awareness. Awareness has nothing to do with control or trying to be something. Awareness is just being and currently we are conditioned and awakening to our conditioning is of utmost importance and how can you ever do that if you are always trying to be something else!

      He says nothing of skill. He says nothing about training attention or focus. These are your words. Your interpretation. The cultivation of skill and training or practice is inattention.

Does it mean the other person who is saying the hurtful thing or 'it' means us(our feelings) when we hear them say bad thing to us. What if u r being gaslit by someone ? If u r aware that that’s not u & u r also aware that the person u listening to with attention is coming from hurt… does it help in not being hurt? I always find myself hurt especially when I hold the person dear to me.

    • @soulitis
      @soulitis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You hold your idea of them dear to you. Your love isn’t of for them it’s for your idea of them you created. Because they are exposing there toxicity and true selves through there actions.. There trauma they endured and didn’t deserve was not there fault. But there healing is there responsibility. Not yours. Sometimes the greatest thing you can do for someone you love is allow them to lose you. So they can in hopes find themselves in understanding that they lost the greatest thing for them because of there poor actions. And will continue to lose those people if they don’t change

      To pay attention to something the same way you pay attention to something truly amazing, like a sunset, or dangerous, like a wild animal in front of you. For a moment, there is no thought, just perception. Because youre paying 100% attention in that moment, theres no thinking. Then after a second you lose attention and your mind starts again saying "this is beautiful" or "I am scared". Same thing with being hurt. Ego only operates when there is not 100% attention.

      I feel awareness is how we heal. You can’t process anything without being aware of it and processing it. I don’t think it will be quickly. I think that depends on what your letting go. If it’s something that effected you on a deeper level. For me personally wouldn’t be quickly. But it will be a lot faster than if I didn’t give it any of my attention and only did when something triggered me to bring that up. I disagree.
    1. There is always a self-image conferring us our identity or identities. If someone says it's one's personality or social identity but not true self (as Vedantins say) i think it's theology. Unless u see actually that Witness Consciousness in yourself not perturbed by attacks on self image, believing in such lofty words is inauthentic,self deception. Only thing one can do is to make an open and progressive self-image, which includes my image to be of that person who is honest, open to new views, reconsider new alternative ideas or views, committed to truth and not to ego or someone who is egotistic , to be able to see from 3rd person perspective... by such self-images one can be a better person. And still ...all of this is also ego. I have just made a better standard of my ego, my self image.
    I am not enlightened, I am full of ego... being egoless is also my ego.
    2. Being totally aware doesn't always solve all problems. Say, I am hurt since u damaged my self image of, say, an intellectual, or a singer,and now I am totally aware. Will it now not register ...with my awareness and awareness that i am really a bad singer . I may change the image after a while if I do find it's true... After crying a lot fro weeks or months. And then I might be liberated from the cage of a false self image. Granted. But ...my self image is always there. i can only reform it by being open, accepting the truth ( if I am committed to the truth as my most important self image).
    If I am a terribly angry man, i am aware that I am so... Then what? Now, i can know that mist of time the blame is on me, i overreact. I overreact on the genuine corrupt, evil , mean, unethical actions or intentions of others. What difference it will make? I "blast" since it was valid reaction to the evil. But now ...why blast, why not gentle disagreement and non-cooperation (like Gandhi) or a mild scolding disapproval...? It should be... Since others being corrupt is their failing to rise above their tendency, so is mine, and even I am not perfect. I am also corrupt, may be in soft manners and that other is in hard manners. He couldn't rise. I also failed. So accept the 'corrupt other'. ...
