Looking at the video, it certainly looks like Brown knew he had a problem and was well aware of it coming onto the straight. He is looking down to the back left of the bike coming out of the turn. From the start of the clip, he is not angled which suggests he had a mechanical fault before coming into the frame. My personal conclusion is he didn't fully realize he was in the racing line, and was too busy focusing on a problem with his bike when he was hit. A tragic racing accident.
This is the worst crash I ever seen in my life. Sadly, the two guys died instantly. I was so shocked at this and this is very serious to me. smh. RIP Peter Huber and Norman Brown.
If I remember correctly, both riders were wearing Nava helmets. There was a problem with the straps. Does anyone know if the cause of death was due to head injuries or would the accident have been fatal even with their helmets on?
That is Correct Norman Brown Was Wearing a AGV helmet .. Peter Huber Was wearing A Ghibli helmet. Franco Uncni had worn the same brand the season before ( 1982 ).
