Barry sheenes last race
มุมมอง 612K14 ปีที่แล้ว
Sheene having finally sorted his suzuki with new Harris yokes gives Haslam a hard time on the factory Honda. Pity Barrys bike didnt behave like this for the earlier match races ! I was down at the B'OL Dor at the time on my trusty gs 1000.

who ,1,why show it then cut off ,the finish?
Haslam always was Mr quick start rider
I still remember this, Steve Webster and tony Hewit, ending up in the drainage dyke, it did look spectacular. But, they were okay. Lucky them!
RIP
Barry el número 1!!!!!!✊✊✊👏👏🏍
There’s a head on photo of this incident. Legendary. A perfect encapsulation of how difficult the 500’s were to ride.
Donignton Park England
There is a line you can see as soon as he hits it the back came round Unless it was the film But its too uncanny
Gene was a funny guy. I used to talk to him all the time. Miss that guy :(
My boyhood hero RIP Bazza
One of the greatest GP's ever, when it was down to the rider not who had the best bike or technology. The first race to really catch my interest as a kid and no wonder!
Zato su te bale i ukinuli, vozač kad se zabije u bale odbije se od nje, tako je stradao i Rainhold Roth na Grobniku
Just searched this while reminiscing! I was standing nearby, schwantz passed his brake lever through the fence to a fan, i asked him if i could have the engine!! He replied ' you can have the whole damn thing!' Just before that, doohan passed by looking over his shoulder at schwantz while popping a wheelie as he flicked from right to left😲
Heart hurts for those of this era that we lost far too soon, Barry was a great rider and did so much for Australian motorsport after his retirement, wish he was still around today.
All the good old names I remember them with affection
I bet the hospital sawed the helmet off.
this guy was hyped beyond belief
how can u say that because he is the onl ,brit that has won 2 moto gp world championships, and we are still waiting for another brit to achieve it.
Not his last race, that was at Goodwood revival in 1999 on a Manx Norton.
ラグナセカは面白いサーキットだからまたGPを開催して欲しい。
Two class acts for sure - RIP Barry Sheene
Chris Carter commentating. Lovely!
Mad subtitles 😂
Pretty entertaining movie…who knew then that McQueen was an actual motorcyclist? I was awfully young them, I didn’t until On Any Sunday came out….
Everything was going good…until it wasn’t….

After all he went through, to lose his life to a sneaky bastard of a disease 😔
What he said about fear is bang on I've had a tz 250 seize on me in a fast corner right as I shut the throttle,I wasn't going as fast as Barry but it's frigging scary having the rear break loose and come around like that ,he was a top rider big ups Bazza # 7
Takes you back! I remember when he was just starting out ,him and his dad at Olivers Mount UK

The medical help was appalling if he had broken his neck or back no chance!! How far we have come thankfully RIP Bazza the only true goat and a true entertainer
He survived high speed crashes but died from cancer from cigarettes 😢
Si ,le maledette sigarette.
The Dunlop engineer states to Barry, we've had to stiffen the tyres up! Clearly not enough!
Legend
Can remember this when I was young sheene was tough as nails to come back from this accident
When I was a little kid I pestered Barry for stickers in the pits at Silverstone when he was sitting in his garden chair in his AKAI leathers. I was a little bastard but I loved Barry. Always numbered my bicycles with a 7. "Cam back later, I told ya ...cam back later, I ain't got 'em 'ere!" I did and he had them for me. Bless 'im. It's fucking shit that he could survive what he did and...
God I love the sound of two stroke engines with open expansion chambers. Brings me back to the early 70’s. Daytona back then was an endurance race. The tires had to last the whole race. The riders couldn’t get too racy or the tires would go off and their race would be over. That’s why the Yamaha 350’s did so well there. Not too fast but still able to get around quick enough and handled good enough because they were light.
Those RG500,s were insane.Either nothing or everything. There was a good documentary on /if modern GP racers now could handle the powerbands. They had disc valves of sorts on the ports that maximised power.2 strokers are mad engines at that size anyway.
Bring back 2 stroke !!
4 stroke=gay 2 stroke=not gay Its That Simple!
He had cheekiness but he was hard as nails.I had a poster of him cranked over on his Suzuki as a young nipper.
This is fantastic except for quality, a shame this would've been a keeper ,but thanks anyway 👍
Barry was a true warrior, a legend in the realm of motorcycle road racing in the same league with Micheal Hailwood.
And an exceptional commentator as well.
I love hearing all my old hero's names being called they were the days .
The US. should have done more to promote motorcycle racing. Tennessee has areas where a TT type race could be held on public roads.
Where’s the end? 🙃
