The third episode of 6 contestants tackling another set of exciting and entertaining tasks!
In this episode, Ben, Carter, Henry, Max, Owen, and Parker get around, get defensive, and show off their threads, as well as their moves.
A home version of the brilliant UK TV series, "Taskmaster".

Crying at the shoe task. It was a complete trainwreck. It was so perfect.
Funnily enough, when David started talking with a British accent I didn't even question it. I was just like, yeah, this is Taskmaster.
"Fighting the woodwork and losing" absolutely cracked me up.
Okay, Henry doing martial arts behind a sheet is maybe even better.
You can tell Max is a TM fan because his first thought is to go under the table (excuse me, debajo de la mesa) in the magnet task.
Exactly right! Max has seen the most TM out of all the contestants! It might surprise you to hear that Henry had actually seen the second most and Ben and Owen had seen the least before filming, considering how they approached tasks!
@@TaskmasterMN I would have guessed that Owen had more experience, given his penchant for trying to find a workaround. Henry doesn't have the manic energy of some of the others, but his timing and deadpan delivery are a treat. The post shoe exchange with Max made me laugh and the choice to stay fully inside his fort and channel a pugilistic ghost was comedic gold.
@@irisblue2332 I had watched maybe 15 individual tasks on youtube and done the Taskmaster at Home Charity Video before filming my individual tasks. Going into the individual tasks, I didn't even know that they did team tasks on the show. I only learned about them when I watched a bunch more after my film session. A little part of me wish I hadn't watched any more because then I would have been completely surprised by the team tasks!
@@owengage7852 I can see why you'd say that. There's a livestream of the group from season 2 of Taskmaster NZ watching the final episode and answering some questions. One of the contestants came into it completely cold having never seen the show before (he co-hosts a daily radio show with the NZ taskmaster and said that he didn't care to spend his evenings with him as well.) The lack of preparation made for a unique perspective, similar to the contestants on series 1 of the English version.
Going in cold might not be the way to get the most points and win, but it would be amazing to have a pure experience without any expectations.
@@TaskmasterMN Considering that contestant like Rhod Gilbert that hadn't seen the show still found loopholes and creative ways of doing tasks, this doesn't surprise me so much. And some that did, like James Acaster, didn't do too well overall. I love the fact that watching the show doesn't give any overall advantages, with the odd exception.
I want Alex Horne to see this but I don't know how to make that happen. Maybe if everyone tweets at him? He can't ignore us all!!

Banter between the constestans is amazing and the hosts are much more comfortable in their roles while also becoming meaner in the best way.
I've got to say that between the "roundhouse kick" and the Increasingly less enthusiastic "ha kicks" got me so bad. And Max trying to bullshit his way out of it was amazing television.
This show keeps getting better.
Also, props to Henry on that last task "go for the dick" was amazing!.
Owen just decided to be complete chaos this episode and I absolutely loved it.
Finally wow, Parker going dressed like that to a pride fest was Daring!, Very unconventional materials realness.
Hahaha Max desperately defending his martial arts attempts perfectly summarizes our friendship; we have many arguments with a similar tone all the time! Probably one of my favorite Max moments from the entire series.
Owen went full Hugh Dennis on the magnet task.
The captions have really helped in making the first two episodes of this season accessible to me. I hope the rest of this season gets captioned soon!
These really do make my Tuesdays. Perfect bridge for the gap between the NZ season just gone and the UK season coming, you've captured the spirit of the show perfectly. 5 poi- er, 6 points!
Came here after listening to the TM People's Pod today. I loooove the chemistry and sense of humour you all have, it makes it so much like the real show but with your own personal spin which makes it unique. Also most of the tasks are good enough to be on the actual show! Outstanding. I hope you keep making these forever
This is fantastic everyone is really funny and likable. The location is absolutely beautiful and the tasks are pretty clever. The highlight of this episode for me was Parker immediately going into a gallop full speed around the house like it was the most natural thing.

At first, just watching your series as an amusing diversion...now genuinely invested and wanting to know who wins! Great tasks, great effort, and the tone is spot on.

Seriously such a good version of taskmaster. Genuinely in my list of Taskmasters I rank it as no. 3, just behind UK and NZ, deffo before the Norwegian or other scandi ones! Keep up the good work, all you guys are awesome, and the rapport between the contestants is the best!
So many comments, gonna just keep adding notes here as I watch. Today's comments:
- New Jersey resident here; Chicago is the closest I've ever been to Minnesota in 50+ years of life. And yet ... even I knew that "barn" was said very Minnesota.
- Writing this as soon as it's read out, but I'm kinda hoping the martial arts display doesn't even happen in this episode ... but I understand how, in an episodic television format, you have to follow up on it in the same episode.
- Always enjoy a task where everyone blows it.
- I think I would have given a generic "additional time" penalty for each cup moved beyond two, enough to make it not worth it to just smash all the cups (though I bet someone would do just that; pretty much proven at the end).
- Is Ben the shortest contestant? I can totally understand not noticing the task above the doorway when you're the only person in Minnesota under 6 feet tall.
- And there's the martial arts. I Googled "Is Boxing a Martial Art" and the highlighted result says:
"Webster's dictionary defines martial arts as “systems of self-defense originating in East Asia, such as karate or kung fu, also engaged in for sport.” By this definition, boxing would not be classified as a martial art solely because it did not originate in East Asia, e.g., China, but in the West."
Good luck on your continued efforts of getting Alex's acknowledgement! I know I've seen people talk about you guys in a few places, so it seems possible!
I've lived in MN my whole life and had never seen a place so Minnesota before.
Carter did look up some definitions before deciding that "pugilism" did qualify as a martial art, so I didn't really look into it further, but that's definitely a fair point. Owen and Max wanted to disqualify him because he stood up but it was ruled that the 3 people that didn't leave their forts would all count and the 3 people that left were disqualified.
@@TaskmasterMN I didn't realize at the time, but only the crane kick was done "outside" my fort. 2/3 of the moves, painting the fence and washing the windows, were done inside the bathtub. I feel ROBBED I tell you, ROBBED! I just didn't want to die trying to do a jumping kick inside a bathtub 😭

Firstly, I'm a massive TM fan, and found this by hapstance. Very well done to all of you! I am really enjoying watching!
Secondly, at about 57 min mark, I SWEAR that I just heard Henry say "Cushahn" while doing martial arts within his fort.....Yes? Am I correct, because if so, hats off to Henry for knowing that much about the OG Taskmaster! *my spelling of that word I referenced is probably incorrect.
Thank you for the kind words! But no, Henry definitely does not know the cushahn story, I'm not sure what he said at that moment, but he was narrating all of his martial arts moves, so it might have been "gut shot"?

This production really goes from strength to strength! Fabulous and entertaining viewing, and some very clever task design as well.
You guys have done a really good job with this series, cos when I saw this had just been uploaded I did a little giggle of excitement.
I started watching your series on this episode. From what I've seen, incredibly solid series. I know people have harped on audio - justifiably so. The amount of thought and work you have put into this definitely shows. I'm looking forward to series 2 where they move the live shows away from the set of "The Office" and into a massive theater with room for a live audience. Keep on keeping on. Thanks for providing some great content during these trying times.
Parker's original least drip outfit (i.e. the version he made and wore in the barn) reminds me so much of Sean Connery's mankini in the movie Zardoz.

I'm currently working daily thirteen-hour shifts (residential job) but I can't resist watching another episode after this one before going to bed.
Nobody else saw Henry walking around the back corner of the house? 31:42 he took 4 steps walking. The task said the method of moving could never be running or walking.
It's true... I did notice that in the edit and left it in intentionally in case anyone wanted to call him out on it. It felt like a small enough infraction that I felt wasn't worth pursuing unless someone had mentioned it in studio.

Good job, it is surprising how he's able to do a roll and lift his feet at the same time, when going into the next roll, so his feet don't touch the ground. I also thought someone was going to get some paint and get the magnet under the tagged magnet cup and pass it as the blue one.
I love that you guys did this. I'm currently cooking up a Florida edition of Taskmaster!

Maybe these contestants were just incompetent, but that shoe swapping task seems a bit too difficult to get right on the first try. I now want to see some people do this same task, but instead of getting disqualified whenever they break a rule, they have to return to starting positions and put their own shoes back on. I can still imagine a lot of contestants having a real meltdown over it 😂
Such fun! I almost don't mind it's nearly 3am and I'm supposed to be up in a few hours.

with his preternatural skills of propulsion through spit and jumps it is little wonder carter was elevated to TM in s2. i am watching in reverse order so it is fun for me to see the charismatic giggling cameraperson i kept looking for glimpses of filling the original role!
Will someone explain the magnet “answer”? I still am a bit lost, because if you found the crossing clue, you would not have a magnet to check the four. . . If you got both the magnet and the crossing cups, as soon as you “checked” the four using the magnet, you would move a third cup.
Yes, technically you could touch the cups without moving them, so you could hold the cups in place while checking the insides for magnets, to find the blue magnet without moving the cup that was over it!
"No teams completed the task successfully." No teams *started the task succesfully! I really hope everyone was drunk to cause that display of thinking skills. ;-)

Add the taskmaster hashtag to all your uploads you, comment early on the new clips they upload with a link to your videos, and add key words for season 12, and see if any of the people that upload the full episodes to youtube will add your videos to their channels fools! Unfortunately it seems that comments I leave on Taskmaster videos get automatically removed, I'm guessing since the channel name has Taskmaster in it, it's probably an anti-spam filter by TH-cam. I still make comments with my David Ha account though!
I will say that a new development is that if you search "Taskmaster US", Taskmaster Minnesota does now come up! So that's a pretty good start!
