Sometimes this happens! Just take the tail that you pull and weave it in the through the back of the stitches. I’ve found that this helps close the hole. 💖💖
You have to pull the short yarn and then it wouldn't be a perfect circle but if u flip it and the pull it again the hole will be closed and it would almost be a perfect circle
Your tutorial helped me so much!! I couldn’t get the magic ring with any other tutorials and I found yours and decided to try it and it worked!!! Thank you so much!!!!
This tutorial is amazing!!! The first one that has actually ended up with me having a magic ring after watching like five others lol seriously thank you so much!!!
I am starting a new amigurumi for my nephew, whos birthday is in a few months. And i gotta say, re-learning this is strangely easy. Its just like riding a bicycle. The muscle-memory is still there!
Yes! It's amazing how muscle-memory works! There are times when I don't use a particular stitch and as soon as I start again it's like I never stopped!
Please can you make a video showing how you do the first round of single crochets after the magic ring, I don't understand how to go under the stitches for this round.... I have your book I'm trying to make the racoon!
You did a fabulous job showing how to do this! I usually struggle and I got it first shot! I’ll be saving your video for next time because I don’t use them often enough to remember how to do it.
Thank you for the clear instructions. I am going to link this video in a tutorial so that people can see a clear and precise demonstration of this technique.
Wow thank you so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️ It took me really long to learn how to make a magic ring years ago so it's super encouraging that others are now learning it hopefully a little easier! 😊🧶💖💕

Im trying to make a crochet mushroom but just cants figure out how to do a magic ring and this helped so much. Your tutorial has been the only one that actually made sense so far.

@AMenagerieofStitches .. yes ty so much again! Your way feels right in my hands.. a natural movement I can perform w/ease & remember. Instead of the unwieldy gymnastics w a stick & jumping rope sequences I've performed to get there in the past. 🤪🤩
Im so sorry to hear you're struggling 😣 To start to learn how to yarn over, i'd suggest watching this video I made ❤️ th-cam.com/video/ovjqTYVFcEw/w-d-xo.html If the tangling you're experiencing is the yarn pulling apart, that's something that unfortunately just happens. Some types do it less than others. I would suggest cutting the bad part and starting again fresh 🧶 If its tangling like ramen noodles because of having to pull the stitches out and starting over, I would suggest again cutting the old stuff out and starting past that area 💕
Nice, clear lesson. I like to make the first stitch into the Magic Ring a little looser as I tend to make that one a bit tighter and sometimes hard to find. After years of making amigurumi I still count back from the current stitch to make sure I find that first stitch :)
