Sometimes this happens! Just take the tail that you pull and weave it in the through the back of the stitches. I’ve found that this helps close the hole. 💖💖

Im so sorry to hear you're struggling 😣 To start to learn how to yarn over, i'd suggest watching this video I made ❤️ th-cam.com/video/ovjqTYVFcEw/w-d-xo.html
If the tangling you're experiencing is the yarn pulling apart, that's something that unfortunately just happens. Some types do it less than others. I would suggest cutting the bad part and starting again fresh 🧶
If its tangling like ramen noodles because of having to pull the stitches out and starting over, I would suggest again cutting the old stuff out and starting past that area 💕

I'm sorry to hear this. Sometimes it just takes a lot of practice, and patience, to get the hang of crochet. And sometimes certain videos don't work for everyone. I hope you're able to find one that works for you! ❤❤

Ive got the ring together, but I don’t understand how to continue from where this leaves off and I can’t find any tutorial that actually covers working from an existing magic ring 😭
I got a Squishmallows crochet kit and they have the most dog water instructions I’ve ever seen in a kit to the point that I am stuck on step 1 🥲

Oh no! Hopefully I can help you! At the 3:55 mark of this video I show where you'll start the next round. I also have other full length tutorials for some designs on my channel that might be able to help. The chubby bunny shows where I start the second round, around the 1:43 mark. th-cam.com/video/Al9Gf55cTuE/w-d-xo.html

@ I tried but I can’t tell where you’re actually putting the hook in that video. My biggest confusion is that when I put the hook where I think it’s supposed to go there’s one less loop than when doing from the magic circle, so I assume I must be missing something.
This is my first time ever learning anything about crochet, so even just trying to tell what/where a stitch is is hard for me 😭
This is what I get for trusting that a kit would actually be beginner friendly 😔

@@Claire.Chenault How many single crochets are you supposed to put into the magic ring for the pattern you’re working on? Typically all my patterns start with 6 so in this video that’s what I’ve done. When starting the next round, you’re going to insert your hook under the very first single crochet that was made in the magic ring. The stitches look like a “V”, you’ll insert your hook under the V.
