    You can feel the history there and like many say, still smell the powder burning. Pennsylvania is a great state full of natural beauty and wonderful people.

    You brought back great memories of this place. When my late husband and I drove a big truck it was for a company in Hanover PA called Gainey Transportation. We had to take trailers to a place that we hauled for and we went through Gettysburg. We didn't realize we weren't suppose to come through there with the big truck but we did. I was the first and last time I got to see this place.

    Cool video Russ. I love history, if those building in downtown Gettysburg could talk. I hear that the battlefield is very haunted. About 85,000 soldiers served on both sides. Between 46,000 and 51,000 were either injured, killed or went missing. No wonder why Gettysburg and the battlefield are haunted.

    Wonderful video and description! I was there Sept. 18, 1999. Gettysburg is near Hegins, my Dad's hometown, his Dad , was a Coal Miner. Only meant to drive thorough, but... the Sharps Rifles in the Museum, the statues scattered all over, the "feeling" of all the lives lost for 3- Day Battle, Little Round Top, haunting stories... I spent a whole DAY! HISTORY. There were no vehicles the day I visited, no traffic. But, Thank You for informing Americans of our Past... 🇺🇸

    Don't miss the Cyclorama at the visitors center, an immersive and solemn experience. We stay at Artillery Ridge Campground a couple times a year, and bring the the horses along since they have boarding facilities on site and the horse trails on the battlefield make a nice ride. You can spend weeks there and still not see everything of historic interest. Oh and stop at Tommy's Pizza, good stuff.

    • @carolkeppel7923
      @carolkeppel7923 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many years ago the Cyclorama was not impressive. There were pieces missing and some places the pieces were even put in where they didn’t belong. After a massive renovation, it is astounding. It is now in a proper circle and the presentation is remarkable. It really is a must see

Really enjoyed this one, I used to drive thru Gettysburg 4 to 6 times a week back in the 80s and 90s the hair would always raise up on my arms and neck at 0300/0400 hrs going thru the battlefield. Just an eerie spooky place after dark. So many lost souls . Stay safe hoss

    Normally I look to see if the videographer actually cares enough for their supporters to answer their comments prior to subscribing...this time I did not! So after noticing that noone on this video had had a comment answered, I went back to see on a few other videos, and I found only about 2-3 commenters had an answer from you. To me, that is unacceptable, since the SUBSCRIBERS are where any monies come from on these channels...so unfortunately, I am going to have to UNSUBSCRIBE. That is too bad!!! I enjoyed what I saw, and I will still watch them, but I cannot support someone who cannot support their supporters...
