Very good video was shocked to see so many thumbs down. We need to remember our history ,as too many times it has a way of repeating itself. Im so glad they haven't removed these monuments and cancelled a part of history with many wound's
Thanks! I believe part of the reason for the thumbs down is because the ads were messed up and TH-cam had tons of ads in multiple places on this video and I didn’t realize it until the second day and manually went in to delete them and put them where they should be. TH-cam had ads in about eight different places. I always go back in and manually place where they go in the middle and TH-cam places all the other ones. We don’t get to choose what ads go on our videos though.
Great video, we were just there at the end of August. Gettysburg is truly memorizing. We came away with an eerie feeling for the loss of lives and the unimaginable tasks the community had of caring for the wounded and burying the deceased.
I've driven through Gettysburg several times but never visited any of the places or done the tours. After seeing this, I will be changing that. Thank you.
My grandparents took us to Gettysburg back in the early 60's. Haven't been there as an adult shamefully. It was like a trip down memory lane. Thank you for that. 💕👍
Same for me. Went as a child in the late 50’s. Some parts I did remember but don’t remember it being so big. Thank you for showing all this to us. Very stirring, very sad that so many lives were lost. May we never experience this again in America
Great vid. Everyone should take that tour. I was there over 30 years ago (☹) and vividly remember it. If you visit that place and aren't moved you're not human.

Wow!!!! I haven't been there in 4 years. When I lived in Michigan we went there every year for about 6 years. Thank you for taking us on this journey of a place that so many died for us. I love when you were at the top of Little Round Top and showed us Devils Den. We were there one time at night and I did see ghosts. Oh my goodness! We can only imagine what it would be like to experience it at night! I think what got me emotional the most was as we were leaving the area of the National Soldiers Monument in the cemetery (this was not on film) we walked past some grave markers that were spaced far apart. I (Michelle) looked down to read what one of them said and it was a grave for HUNDREDS of unknown soldiers in that one spot. So, so sad.
I am a huge CW history buff. Gettysburg is one of two places where you can feel the ghosts and get the hair on your neck to standup. Other place is Andersonville prison site in GA. Sacred ground. I visited the Union position and looked down the hill to where Pickett's men were advancing on the Union cannons. What Ian Outstanding video. I am just speechless . The park is so much different than I had expected, I always assumed that it was one big field battlefield and nothing more. Thank you so much for this instructive and extremely well edited video. If I was a teacher I would use that in my classroom. There is a movie called Gettysburg with Martin Sheen playing Rob. E. Lee. It follows General Chamberlain at Little Round Top. It was filmed in Gettysburg and is based on the book, Killer Angels. I live in Gettysburg and watched the movie at the theater just off the square. Re-enactors came to watch the movie in costume. It is a pretty good depiction of the battle.
@@katrinascreationscrafting Ooooh ... and Sam Elliott ! LOL Thanks for that info! I bet that was a real treat to see at the theater with the re-enactors!
@@MsShellMel Sam Elliott and the rest of the actors stayed at the Gettysburg Hotel right on the square. And Sam Elliott came back to visit with his family.
Fantastic video we watched in silence as it was so moving, well filmed and informative. Over here in the UK we have memorials but nothing like you do in the States. Keep the films coming!
I live in Gettysburg. It is a beautiful town. A lot of the battle took place right in the town itself with the citizens hiding in their basements. Several buildings still have shells in them and Mr. G's Ice Cream, the Farnsworth House and the Jennie Wade House have bullet holes in them. When I was a child I used to climb the "castle" at Little Round Top. A few years back, while re-doing the railroad bridge you crossed near the Peace Light , they found the remains of one of the soldiers from the battle. He was later interred in the National Cemetery.
Very nice video. I get there a couple times a year. Have a dozen ancestors listed on the PA Monument, three who died there and one believed buried as an unknown in the cemetery. So much history there.
@@LivinRVision It does. My son and I have visited the places they would have been. Took a couple years to track them all down. it is hard to explain the feeling you get, especially for the ones who lost their lives.

Gettysburg is on our to-see list for sure! We have been to the civil war parks in Vicksburg, MS and Chickamauga in Chattanooga, TN. Thanks for sharing! ~ Shion and Matthew
Vicksburg was amazing as well. We did a video on it and found Michelle’s great great grandfather’s name on an Iowa monument. That was a very emotional time.
I have never been to Gettysburg and didn't realize how much history there really was to see. Thank you both for your time and narration of the video (I think the app was well worth it). This video is fantastic! Thank you again.
The price of the audio tour hasn’t increased much over the years. When we lived in MD in the mid 90s ,we borrowed our neighbors cassette tape ($6 value), and followed the Gettysburg tour. We thought it gave us a great “visual” of the battle. Our children loved it too. Thanks for sharing.
OUTSTANDING VIDEO!!!!.. Love Gettysburg. I worked there for a summer. I am a huge Civil War History nerd.. Love this video.. you did a very nice job with it. Hard to describe Gettysburg in 21 minutes. Well Done!
WOW , Thank you , that was an awesome video.. I have never been there but after seeing this it is a must see destination for me now. Thank you for taking us along with you.
Thanks for your video. I still have slides of my 1981 visit to Gettysburg, but I cannot remember the whereabouts of the cassette tape that we purchased. It was put in the RV's radio & cassette player to give information about the different historic places while I was driving. Besides - we did not go through those "German" towns either. I have that stuff around me every day! - Would be quite interested in what Colonial Williamsburg is like today.
You definitely wouldn’t want to try walking it, it would be way too long and take too long. They do some horseback tours as well. 99% of the people seemed to do the auto tour. Enjoy! 😊🤓
Oh yeah living just north of town, I've been lucky enough too be on the field numerous times with no one around and it truly is surreal. And hard to imagine the carnage that took place on such a beautiful piece of ground. The whole park is just incredible.
Oh wow, didn’t realize you lived so close! You are so right, Dan! So many mixed emotions with the beautiful area and knowing the carnage that took place.

I live in Gettysburg and watched the movie at the theater just off the square. Re-enactors came to watch the movie in costume. It is a pretty good depiction of the battle.
Thanks so much for sharing this! We are going to try to watch that sometime. 🧡
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. It is such an emotional place to see and ‘feel’ the history that surrounds you there.
Stay safe!
Great job guys we are apple picking in new jersey safe travels John and Linda Sollazzo 😀
Thanks guys!! Have fun & stay safe! 🧡😊🤓
Wow that’s so interesting! Thank you for sharing that with us. 🧡
We thoroughly enjoyed your video of Gettysburg…thanks
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you! 😊🤓
Love all your videos but the editing on this one really jumps out! Very nice!!
So glad you enjoyed it! Wish I could have did more, but thank you so much! 🧡
Beautifully done thank you. It has always been on my list of places to visit. I think you helped move it near the top.
Glad you liked it! The battlefield is a must see and you won’t be disappointed. Be sure to go to the museum also. It helps to tell the story.
Such a moving place. Thank you for sharing.
It really is!
Really enjoyed this video as we have not been and really enjoy history. After watching this video it’s a place we will be going.
That’s great! So glad you enjoyed it! 😊🤓
Hallow ground/ thanks again for the video 🤙
You’re welcome! Thanks so much for watching!
Excellent video! Thanks so much for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks! 😊🤓
Very nice guys. Looks like you spent a lot of time on this edit. Some great cuts & transitions and music choice was excellent. Best, Brian
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you very much! I always see the improvements needed. Lol appreciate it! 🧡😊🤓
Very nice video. I get there a couple times a year. Have a dozen ancestors listed on the PA Monument, three who died there and one believed buried as an unknown in the cemetery. So much history there.
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it! Oh wow! That must take it to a whole different level for you when you go there. You’re right, a lot of history!
@@LivinRVision It does. My son and I have visited the places they would have been. Took a couple years to track them all down. it is hard to explain the feeling you get, especially for the ones who lost their lives.
Well done. So very much enjoyed. Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you, glad you liked it!
Wow wow WOW!!! You create some incredible videos, but this one… this is absolutely Brilliant!! 👏🏼👏🏼 I can’t say enough of the quality and detail you put into it! The editing, the music, the narration.. 👏🏼👏🏼 thank you for all of your efforts! You definitely out did yourself on this one! 😎💚
Wow, thank you very much! I get very surprised to see these comments when I see so much that I wish I could do extra. So the kind words are beyond humbling and very much appreciated. So glad you enjoyed it! 🧡😊🤓
@@LivinRVision seriously one of my favorite videos!
Very nice video. We were in Gettysburg in 2017 and we are going back in May of 2022.
Glad you enjoyed! Enjoy your trip back…and bring the Kleenex tissues. :(
So glad you enjoyed your visit. I love visiting Gettysburg. And Michelle, I too am a recovering historian. I love taking folks through the battlefield.
Thank you! We hope to return again someday. A person really needs more than one day to embrace all parts of it.
Nicely done. We really enjoyed Gettysburg. We will visit again for sure.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!😊🤓
Gettysburg is beautiful, the weather was great for you. Travel safe; take care of pie girl! See ya next week. Pam
Thanks Pam! Stay safe & have a great week!
Well done! Thank you.
Thank you!
Hi guys, this is one of your best videos good choice of music and that tour app is really cool well worth the money, very informative cheers.
Tony Brisbane Australia
Thanks Tony! We tried not to give too much info just in case others wanted to do the full tour sometime. The app is well worth the money! 👍🏻
Great job on the video!👍 Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed! 😊🤓
This was a very nice video; well edited. Enjoyed all of it. Thank you.
Thanks Karen! Even the accent? 😂🤪 So glad you enjoyed it! 🧡😊🤓
This video you all have done was awesome. Now I want to go to Gettysburg. Thank you so much for all the information and history you show. 👍. Keep your videos coming.
Thank you! 👍🏻😊🤓
@@LivinRVision Oh wow! That is pretty amazing! :-)
Well done video of Gettysburg. We live half hour away from Gettysburg and visited the battlefield again in July. Thanks
So glad you enjoyed the video! We hope to return there again some day as well.
I remember lots of white limestone type rocks among the grassy fields when we were there in 1986. Hallowed ground🇺🇸
Hallowed ground indeed.
I have never been to Gettysburg and didn't realize how much history there really was to see. Thank you both for your time and narration of the video (I think the app was well worth it). This video is fantastic! Thank you again.
So glad you enjoyed it! Yes we think the app definitely helped the tour as the map we had didn’t tell about each monument.
Hi 👋🏻. What a beautiful memorial. Thank you for sharing! That campground was also very pretty. Safe travels, Brian and Michelle! 🌈💗🦋
Thanks Jolene!! Hope you’re doing well. Stay safe! 🧡😊🤓
The audio tour we did was from our iPhone App Store and not the one they sell at the Visitors Center. It worked really well.
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍🏻😊🤓
Very nicely narrated!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽I used to teach this subject in 5th grade. Gonna have to put this on my bucket list.
Thank you! It really is a must see. The narrated tour app helped a lot as we drove through.
Enjoyed this video very much, had to watch twice!! The loss of life was immense!! The horror of living through that battle must of been devastating!!
It’s so sad thinking of what they all had to go through.Glad you enjoyed the video. 🧡
Great video Been there great park’s enjoy enjoy your travels.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks! 😊🤓
Very moving video you guys. Had to pause many times to read the plaques because I didn't want to miss them. Thank you. Have a great week you guys! ☺
Glad you enjoyed it Beverly!! It’s definitely an emotional place.
Well done, felt like I was watching a National Geographic documentary 👍
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
Thank you for a trip down memory lane!
You’re welcome!
OUTSTANDING VIDEO!!!!.. Love Gettysburg. I worked there for a summer. I am a huge Civil War History nerd.. Love this video.. you did a very nice job with it. Hard to describe Gettysburg in 21 minutes. Well Done!
Thank you for the kudos! So glad you enjoyed it. I bet the was very interesting working there.🧡😊🤓
WOW , Thank you , that was an awesome video.. I have never been there but after seeing this it is a must see destination for me now. Thank you for taking us along with you.
You’re welcome! Glad you liked it. We hope you’re able to get there someday.
Very nicely done, an awesome video. Thanks we want to go someday.
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you! Hope you can get there sometime. 🧡😊🤓
Just a little technology change from back then but you still get the same information. A very emotional place to visit.
Hope you have a great week!
I felt like clapping as the video ended!!!
So very glad you enjoyed it! 🧡😊🤓
@@LivinRVision downloaded the app as we will be in Gettysburg this week. My husband doesn't walk well so the car tour is going to be perfect for us!
You definitely wouldn’t want to try walking it, it would be way too long and take too long. They do some horseback tours as well. 99% of the people seemed to do the auto tour. Enjoy! 😊🤓
This is on my bucket list. Thank you for sharing this...
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did. It can be very emotional.
Outstanding! Thanks for pointing out the app! I had no idea it could be so functional - I am now ready for a visit.
Awesome! So glad you enjoyed the video and we hope you enjoy your trip there! 👍🏻😊🤓
Thank you so very much! The videography and narration were spectacular.
You’re welcome! So glad you enjoyed it!
Been there several times. It is an amazing place where you can "feel" the history. Hard to explain.
We definitely agree.
