- Season Of The Wish brings us some new updated lore on Sjur Eido, an important Awoken character who had ties to The Nine, Mara Sov and the Ahamkara. Her death has long remained a mystery, but today we have some new info to dive into!

A wish for xur to give us better loot (the wish was denied)
I really wish we could have “Season of The Nine”
Pretty much was that in season of the drifter
Season 9
@@lazyboi-6419 haha, well I mean more about the nine.
Watch your words, O player mine, as reality can be whatever you *wish* it to be.
Considering this is the last season ever keep wishing
I have thought the same thing since Season of the Drifter. What's more I have a theory about what they wished for that I think is substantive enough to be the intended canon: the Nine wished for a way to speak to the Guardians which created Xur, at the cost of Sjur's life as parts of her were used to create him. There is a lot of different evidence that, when taken together, fit very well with this idea, mostly contained in the Dust and the Ecdysis lore books. The Nine were unable to create viable life at Cocytus station so it is not clear how they created Xur. This is also Xur's first known appearance; there is no other lore that ever mentions him without his hunch and Lavinia stated that he appeared to the Guardians at the end of the Great Hunt. Lavinia also theorizes Xur was created because the Nine were losing access to the Ahamkara; the Nine were desperate to retain agency in the material world and perhaps wanted to use Huginn and Muginn before they died. In a similar way that Sjur's death is obscured, we also do not know anything about the jar of dust he produces to show Orin. I am almost certain that the jar is the the same one that contains Nasa Sarwar's(the woman who was resurrected as Orin) mother's ashes, the same one she carried into and out of the Distributary and lost when she died on earth. As the Nine seemingly had no interest in Orin before this I find it unlikely they would have been able to procure it for this meeting; I think Sjur found it when she tried to find her friend and carried it with her everywhere she went. When she died it became Xur's, as did most of Sjur herself.
I know this contradicts previous canon about Xur being a "Jovian" but that plot point seems to be entirely dropped as it has not be touched since the end of D1 and seems highly unlikely that some other type of sentient lifeform could survive in this system outside of previously known locations.
@@samspin429yeah, anything related to the planets seems to be sadly retconned before it had the chance to be more than some vague hints here and there.
It'd explain the name itself; Xur. 10ur, 9+1=10, 10=x in Roman numerals. Some kind of complex math involving 's, j' and 'x' forming a nonagon on a graph. What he seemed to know.
The contradiction could be waived by the 'self' and biological frame of 'Xur' being a Jovian colonial tradesman who probably tried to enter the Cocytus access point and managed to survive in a superficial state of existence until the Nine got a messy Wish.
The whole Sjur Eido death always struck me odd. Killing her would be no small feat but I never put much thought into for some reason.
She didn’t die. She was abducted by a tyrant and transformed into an assassin. She is now known as Nebula.

One of these days Bungie is going to re-visit that whole "Sjur had a dream about dying but then coming back to life" plot thread from Forsaken. If I log in and Mara is like "hey wanna help bring my ex back from the dead?" I swear I'll do all the repetitive weekly activities Bungie can throw at me.
I wonder if there is any deeper meaning in the names of those 2 dragons, since they are named after odins ravens in Norse mythology. Or perhaps just a little Easter egg
We have seen there skulls before
I wish for Xur to give us the Trials of the Nine shader (the wish was denied)
Which one? There's several
@@__The_Real_V__ I forgot the name but it was white and blue
Honors of the Nine
Sjur is Xur👀
One thing I always wondered was, why the Ahamkara bones all look the way they do, Huginn and Muninn as an example, even the one over Shaxx. They all look nothing like Riven or Taranis did. It makes me wonder if the design for them was supposed to look as the bones did, smaller or at least able to change size. But then Bungie decided to go a different route with Riven.
IIRC Ahamkara are shapeshifters, so there’s a few ways they can choose to look, whether that’s having horns, frills, tentacles or tusks
@@duublo1216 Tentacles, such as on their face?
If the Nine had a hand in Sjur’s death, you can bet your sweet God roll Mara will find a way to make them pay
hearing all this and how we are about to have the final shape soon with the fight with the one who is the speaker of the darkness is just the small picture and that our real enemy may be the nine, and that our job later will be to find and end the nine before they see us as a threat....
I love wish-ender, thank you sjur.
You know, a season with the nine would be cool. But would be cooler if in it they included the distributary
What would be interesting is if next expansion and whatever season we go back to Sol and see the Ahamkara hatched and grown from the eggs we saved
The bones are a lot smaller than I thought
I hope they don't destroy the eggs
Nice
Its a shame that we get no "episode of the nine" after TFS. I would like to see how the "bad group" of the nine react the end
I wonder is Xur actually Sjur ido? Or has Xurs origins already been revealed
Wouldn’t make sense
i have been at the las step of that wish ender for well since its release lol. great video as usual man. Thank you.
lfg if u cant solo it :)
@@miguelmarcos1971 that would be awesome . And no I can't . Get lost and the ogres are and we're a no go carrying the orb if I remember correctly.
Man Xur always getting his ass kicked :(
Grab your tinfoil hat & come with me as I give my hot take: Taranis was the one who made the nine more real…
In Orins previous life…. She brought a jar of her mothers ashes with her on the Yang Liwei
After they fell through the rift in reality that turned into the distributary, her ashes transformed into a strange blue tinted, silver like dust
When she volenteired herself to be mara emissary, she left to earth bringing the jar with her
When she got resurrected, the jar disappeares & dosent reappear until Orin confronts Xur, it was in his possession…. Orin remembers that the jar used to belong to her, but not why it’s important, xur laughs as he disappears
IN THE DUST LORE BOOK: Lavernia shows Xur a relic of the nine full of dust, Xur states that the dust used to be cells, was once of the nine, a wish was granted…. It Comingled & forever changed
If a wish was made by the nine to make themselves more real… I bet that wish was manifested through the change of Orins jar of ashes brought with her on the Yang liwei
Lavernia was hunted by an ahamkara bone because of Persuing the nine, an immaterial & imossible goal since the nine are a dark matter shadow.
The nine need ahamkara to make themselves real, but any ahamkara would rather feed on the quantum chaos of someone looking for them (keeping the nine as an unobtainable goal)
Taranis imo is a likely suspect to be the one to grant their wish cus they make fair deals…
After their wish, the nine no-longer needed ahamkara, whatever they were getting from them, their now getting from the guardians, explaining xurs appearance in the tower after the great hunt..
Before the nines’ wish. They targeted sjur eido because they were eliminating ahamkara in the great hunt, giving the nine all the motivation they need to kill her
Method of killing eido, unknown maybe wish magic
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk
The nine are just the planets right? 👀 Lol
They are the void. Dust. Emptiness in space. (Virtually)(like in game) I believe
I mean they are dark matter, a kind of dust that isn't effected by anything but gravity, having self awareness because of people in sol
It would make sense if the dust was divided by gravities of planets of sol ant the sun into nine unequal parts
I had this theory in mind for a while now thanks for sharing something like this :3
Kinda annoying with her statue saying you have to prove your worth and that the devs thought it was a good idea. Like, what? I killed how many cosmic powers at this point and I have to prove myself to you? So dumb
Isn't mara concerned when we talk to her with wishender equipped that we are literally holding her lesbian lovers flashy longbow
SMASH
So they nine killed here by accident? I really hope we got more cause if not that terrible lore
2nd comment!!
Shut up
