What is the job of taking the fashion design to manufacturing called? In graphic design it is production manager. All about vocabulary, scheduling, budget, and business knowledge & contacts. Grittier skill set required than art and design.

Flat is the technical drawing of a garment that patternmakers use to draft correctly. You should design using flats because they'll keep you on track while you draft patterns.
