    I have a CE-1 and the next year Rhodes with the flat top both bought brand new when I was a teenager gigging in LA. They still sound great. My original Mini Moog sits on top. Now in my 60s I use Nords they’re nice and light. Great video! And yes I’m jealous of the LED lights that to cool.

      Sweet set up! I have a lightweight Nord as well for everyday gigging needs.

      Thank you for your reply. I have to admit that last night I ordered a LED strip from Amazon, I completely stole your idea. Again thank you and Stay Calm and Gig On.

      @@MoritzSchippersnotes from left to middle C are very bassy and notes to right of middle C are quite harsh. Yours have a lovely glassy sound across all keys. I’ve tried adjusting tone bars & pick up position but struggle to get that even sound like yours.

      @@alanhowell3646 Ah, yeah, I've had mine looked at by a professional. Before, the output was quite noisy and the level very uneven. I'm quite happy with the sound now but the action still kinda sucks.

      @@MoritzSchippers Thanks, I think I might have to do the same. I bought it from a guy that restores them but I don't think he did a great job.

    i love this sound and your playing. what amp are you using? mono or stereo ?

    • @MoritzSchippers
      @MoritzSchippers  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh gee, thanks! For this one I went straight into the interface (and I messed up the levels, as you can hear by the occasional distortion). I like to bump frequencies around 1.5 kHz with an EQ on a Rhodes.

      @MoritzSchippers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! It sounds fantastic! It's a pity it's so rare nowadays, however I thought the current Boss chorus pedals do a decent job as well.

    How do you get your rhodes to sound so chimey and clean? If I boosted the high mids enough to get this kind of chime out of my rhodes the noise would be much much louder than it is here. Is the piano mostly original parts or has it been modded in some way? Thanks.

    • @MoritzSchippers
      @MoritzSchippers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Alex! I had the Rhodes restored by a professional when I got it. The output is super clean. I like to boost the mids a little around 1.5 kHz. The rest is the CE-1, I guess.
