It's always something special to watch an exceptional talent like Efren perform. Especially at that age. I had the priviledge to meet him briefly in Germany. He is not only the GOAT in pool billiards but also a very humble and likeable human being. Thank you for sharing and commenting!

My up tje street best buddy had a pool table.
We would have available 10 sick days in highschool. We took of each Monday, go to the new bowlimg alley to play pool. We played teams aganst the older local players. I had a knack for the game, and we would stomp the other pair. The looser pays, so we played all morning winning. It was so fun!
I miss thoughs days back in the late 1970's
. We should went for so pro game. Just "fun"..!!

No love for the shot at 46:50? Efren studies it for a bit... then makes not one ball, but two... while breaking up a cluster... and getting shape. Just another day at the office, I guess!

What you're saying about the two being at the bottom of the rack and thus being so difficult to get position on it, doesn't that make it better to put it at the bottom, than to move it around in the rack formation?
It seems to me, the way they are racking the balls, these racks are very loose. That in itself causes problems.
Why don't they use the 9 ball diamond to solidify the rack?

I disagree with the break. This game was at it's peak when players broke the balls. Took 90% of the excitement out of the game. They would never make a Movie of this game the way its played today. And why are the new players using these black shaft cues? When have you ever saw Efren use one!

Agree: I very much agree with “cathy”
    Frost should only
commentate by himself! It seems like he loses all sense of the game.
Only one exception was when he paired with JJ on a one pocket match. But that was only once.
The best commentators do it alone.
    Earl,JJ,Scott,Josh R.and Mark Wilson.
    There are No others.
And all these guys should be alone.
A commentator should be someone you can learn from. If you don’t learn from them, you really would be better off to turn the sound off. Try it.
And then concentrate on the shots. You will be amazed at your
    improvements.
    adios

Alternating breaks is stupid. It eliminates putting 2,3, or even 4 packs on your opponent. You should have the chance to keep your opponent in their seat if you happen to catch that gear. Just like in straight pool when you go on long runs.

Efren's Level of Knowledge about the game is absolute unbelievable. Unfortunately - due to his age - he is no longer as consistent as he was in his prime. Everyone is talking about his kicking skills and shots like the "Z"-Shot, but in my opinion his real strength also lies in this very unique "little" shots with the exact right amount of spin and tempo that nobody on earth can play like him. A lot of the viewers don't even realize the uniqueness of these shots because you need some own experience to detect the difference. By watching him in this way, you can learn more than in any other way. Thank you, Efren! I hope I get to see many more of your games.

It is stated in the rule at Derby City, and was also mentioned at the players meeting. But a lot of players don't read the rules, and don't show up for the players meetings. A lot of players either don't know about the rule, or don't care. Occasionally you'll see someone point it out to their opponent when they rack it like that, but most of the time they just let it go, and don't care.

A push out is played when there is no clear shot on the lowest ball on the table. A snooker is what results after a shot on a ball, but after the break there may not be a shot on the lowest ball so you have the right to move the cue ball and it's called a push out.

LOSER BREAKS should be the RULE for all match games. Would make every match way more competitive, and eliminates those ludicrous situations where a great player loses a match helplessly watching as their opponent breaks and runs out.

It's not fair. What if the loser breaks and cleans the table till the end to win the match?
