    Excellent video. Thank you. I have spent so much money replacing x maxx servo that works for 30 minutes at a time.

      I have the 2085x servo and I make sure I set the endpoints and keep the servo saver slightly loose to save the servo incase I ever have a rough landing. Thanks for watching & commenting my R/C brother. I hope my steering servo advice helps you.

      It was my x-girlfriends daughter's room. It was painted pink/purple for her but when me and her mom went separate ways I made it into an r/c room.

    Mike, you said the blue Hot racing servo horn did not work. Saw you toss it in your parts bin. So what servo horn did you wind up using then? I'm running everything stock so I can use the Traxxas lights. Looking for a horn to make that servo fit the stock radio as I see your still using. Thanks for the great video!

      My servo failed soon after this video and I replaced it with the 2085x servo and haven't touched it since. I would buy the servo mounting kit I linked below. It comes with an aluminum mount that won't flex like the Traxxas one and a good servo horn. It's made by GPM

    How is this for bashing? Is it any heavier than stock form?

      I never ran mine very long. My servo gears striped out in about 3 minutes and then I ordered the 2085x (the stronger xmaxx steering servo with more torque and metal gears) after I installed the upgraded traxxas servo it worked great. Ive been running it now for a couple years. Whenever this video was made ,....until now....that's how long I've been running it without any issues. I know some people have went to a 10th scale Servo and had no problems but I did NOT have any luck with a 10 scale servo.
      I went to that upgraded Traxxas servo (2085X) and it worked great for me.

      @@myrclifethanks for being honest, I will get the 2085x or maybe I might just get the metal gears and upgrade the existing stock servo.

    What is that part number for the servo buddy???

    • @myrclife
      @myrclife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The part number for this servo is:
      #cls-hv7346mg
      And the xmaxx servo adapter part number is:
      #Tra7749
      I am also going to put a link to these parts in the description of the video.

      Unfortunately that servo didnt last very long🤨. I went back to a stock traxxas servo and installed metal gears in it and I upgraded the steering bell crank to aluminum and i loosened the servo saver adjustment to the lightest setting and I've had no steering servo issues since then.

      I bought it off from Amazon
      The part number is CLS-HV7346MG
      But I want you to know it did not last very long on my xmaxx! About 5 minutes and it took the gears right out of it. It was good and strong, its just that a truck as big as an xmaxx really needs a big servo! Thanks for watching👍

    • @myrclife
      @myrclife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I bought the upgraded heavy duty xmaxx servo. If your old stock servo just stripped out the plastic gears another option is ordering a new metal gear set for the heavy duty Servo and installing them into the stock servo if you wanted to save some money.

      No it immediately went out! I would stick with a stock xmaxx servo and buy a metal gear kit for it right away (under $20) and loosen up your servo saver a bit and it will be fine most likely.

    • @myrclife
      @myrclife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've seen ALOT of people using standard size servos in their xmaxx and have good luck. I DID NOT have good luck running the smaller standard size servos in my xmaxx. Thid video is more of an instructional video showing how to do the servo swap. Some of the more high dollar standard servos from companies like reefs & savox seem to last in the xmaxx if someone wants to do the swap. I went to the 2085x servo from Traxxas and I have had no problems. You said 1/5th scale servo's are the only ones that work in the x-maxx but unfortunately the only 1/5th scale servo you can install in the x-maxx is the one straight from Traxxas. I have seen some people cut and hack their chassis all up and Jimmy rigged a 5th scale servo in there but unfortunately there is no adapter kit that lets you slide in a 5th scale servo correctly in the xmaxx without lots of customization.

    This is all BS money making scheme my traxxas
    Bought a brand new xmaxx & the servo crapped out after a several runs
    For $900 plus what another what $600 in batteries & a charger this truck should have metal gears in the servo
    Not a happy Traxxas guy who has 7 traxxas trucks

    • @myrclife
      @myrclife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hear you buddy! It should of came stock with the 2085x AND batteries + a charger. All the big companies don't include batteries anymore unless it's a nickel metal hydride "piece of crap" battery! What's wrong with giving some lipos with a new RTR vehicle 🤷

    That servo is junk and those servo arms are junk too. I destroyed it in one bash session on my xmaxx.

    • @myrclife
      @myrclife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did the same thing. I'd never put a 1/10th scale servo in my X-Maxx ever again.

    • @Schmidt3850
      @Schmidt3850 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That jx servo is junk. I have a savox black edition 2290sg.on my xmaxx with a gpm servo arm that inserts into the bearing like the stock does and l have had no problems you have to set the servo end points as well which is really must do because the xmaxx is a big beast. Takes a lot of stress off the servo setting the end points it doesn't continuously max out which saves your servo.

    • @myrclife
      @myrclife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly! End point adjustment is a MUST in this hobby. When the servos sit and hum at the end of the steering stroke, it just builds heat and causes stress. I might not show it in my video but I definitely set my end points. And I think I already responded to your last comment saying (that jx servo is junk and you destroyed it in one bash and the servo arm is junk too) I agree with you 100% ! Mine lasted not even 10 minutes! It stripped the gears inside and stripped the splines out of the cheap servo arm at the same time🤦😡😡😡😡😡. They should of NEVER made an 1/10th scale servo adapter for these big old trucks! Stupidest idea ever😡

    • @Schmidt3850
      @Schmidt3850 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I went the cheap route and bought the cheap jx servo. Bashed like 5 times with the savox black edition servo seems ok for now. I think the gpm servo arm helps out cause it has the bearing to ride on. The savox servo is 150$. Which l think isn't cheap. Reefs make a 5th scale servo 400$! I dont have money like that wish l did. Would buy one in a second.
