    One of the main reasons I bought the X maxx was the ease of doing repairs . Excellent chassis design 🤔

    Loose the pfte shims and try the copper head gaskets from the 3.3 and 2.5 engines for the pinion and you can use them on the bearing side as well.

    Just curious do you change the springs for stiffer ones due to the fact that you like to jump this truck or do you just leave everything stock. Could you please elaborate so I can understand

    A suggestion for the diff fix. Get something called machinist ink, or Prussian blue, and put it on the ring and test assemble, rotate, and check for tooth engagement after the shim to see if it made a difference. My guess though is that where the ring sits needs to be machined a bit to move it in closer to the pinion, or both fixes if there's slop enough to allow your bearings to sit in there even after you install the shim. Either that or there's flex under hard accel by the pinion pushing the ring away.

    I have thoes gpm diffs you saw on Kershaw designs website. so far so good. I'm also running 8s on castle xlx and 2028 motor so it's definitely more than the stock x Maxx.

  • @brockseals
    @brockseals 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    pinion shim is much more effective. Two benefits one I didn't notice until I had the lower bulkhead out with the pinion and diff in there with the upper diff off. Obviously it pushes the pinion to the ring more but I believe the real benefit is the shim gives stability to the left side of the pinion. since the ring is on the right if you are looking front to back that preasure creates a slight right side pull in where the left side of the pinion moves slightly right and forward. With the copper shim in it seams to give support to the opposite side of the pinion not allowing it to move right forward. Rear one 3.3 large headgasket right on the bearing which form fits. Then 2 to three revo 2.5 sims directly on the pinion Single in front

    quick question ive been dying to ask you if you wouldn't mind.,.. i have the first gen 6s xmaxx running two 3 cell 7500 mah soft packs and they r working ok but starting to swell,,, anyways it really doesn't want to wheelie or really pop up at all for that matter when i got from stop to full throttle, would you be able to please recommend a gear spur and pinion setup that you maybe have tried and found it turns the 6s into a wheelie machine,,, i just want it to lift a litter, and gear to be able to float on the snow and maybe the water if i get some paddle tires.... please help thanks soo much for your better accel gearing ratio.... happy holidays and hope you had a good new year... looking forward to hearing back from you,,, cheers,
    -pete

    Can i get your help on my diff work? when i put my drive cover back on the diff will not rotate anymore, when i loosen it , it works again. Certainly the diff housing should be a tight as possible right? I would love to chat with you about it.

    Where do u get gears from Kev? My maxx is giving me prob worked fine for couple months motor moved stripped the plastic gear went metal. Re installed then both monkey gears broke. I noticed it drives fine but I’m scared to punch it. I used the Arrma spur gear and it
    Makes noise when u punch it I just know the monkey gear is gonna crack. Should I just go back to plastic, I can run it sounds fine if I feather it but what fun is that. Please any advice would help

    I run the Hot Racing Diff covers and they are so rigid you can't shim on the bearing side any more. Won't fit properly its that tight
