I love this car. My first car was a '55 210 2 door that was stripped. No interior, no drive train, just boxes of parts. I was 13 when my Dad bought it for me for my birthday. I got a Craftsman tool set for Christmas and my Dad says, "Ok, make it run". The 55 Chevy is my favorite car!!
Absolutely love the 55! I'm a huge fan of old school cars like the 55. I've got a 57 with a 377, M20 and 4.10's. I built it exactly the way I would have built it in high school as that is what I still think is cool. It's isn't fast by today's standards but it always puts a smile on my face. Racing it at a nostalgia race this coming weekend.
When you mentioned the year you were born I thought to myself you’re ten years younger than me. If you’re the old man that makes me bloody ancient! Oh by the way you’ve got the best channel on TH-cam! All the best to you and yours
LOL and 25 years younger than me,, heck two of my kids are older than 'ol Dad,, but neither ME nor my kids can hold a candle to the skills 'ol Dad owns AND we never chased drag racing like this wonderful family do which is why I am so drawn to them, all of them. I've got a 4yr old Pitt, and she NEVER leaves my side, even if she waits in the truck for me to return. Being it's hot down here in Florida and I leave the windows all the way down for her and she's always stayed in the truck with the exception of one time when she was 2mos. old.😎👍
I can't get over how good your channel is for someone just starting out. I Love all the back stories on the cars and its cool how you include the dogs in the videos...Great job!
My dad unfortunately passed away about two years back., me being a dumbass kid didn’t take advantage of gaining all his knowledge, carb tuning and valve adjusting is something I’d like to see and learn to get his 383 stroker nova going again, want to drop a solid roller in it. Was always his plan. For some odd reason this channel and you remind me of him quite a bit. Keep up the great content.
I would love to see anything about carburetors. From basics to advanced tuning like you it took on the 55. Just the way you can explain things makes them easier to understand. And the way the S-10's rip speaks volumes of your experience.
Great car. My neighbors 3 boys older than myself would let me help them on summer nights back in the mid 60s build a 57 Chevy with a 327 and two four barrel carbs and a 4.56 rear. Great times great fun. Their family eventually moved out to California and I went in the Navy at 17 and eventually wound up in Nam. Really do miss those days. It’s when you had a car it became family. You would have fit right in back in those days. Cars in my opinion went down crapper I’d say around 72 and I feel never came back. That’s why watching your channel brings back so many good memories. I got my Christmas package from you guys. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing the videos. Artie 🇺🇸😊
No pedestals old man. We just call it like we see it. You're good people doing what you love as a family and that's all any of us should want. I believe you fill a gap for a lot of us. Whatever the gap may be. Directly after starting watching SRC I felt the need to get my car back on the road. That was a little over 2 yrs ago and I am almost finished. I figure I have 2 months left and I'll be rolling in it for the first time in 17yrs Built 393 backed by a C4 (Vickers may be building me a powerglide for it). 9inch rear with 370 gears and an auburn unit. 1968 Mercury cougar XR7.

One of my first cars was a 55 Chevy with a 350 out of a Corvette. It had a tunnel ram on it and it was a four-speed. Fell in love and drove it to Oregon and back after I fell out of love. It was a strip down 210 business coupe. How I would love to have that car now

Great video. Car reminds me of my 55 that I bought from a friend in 1968. Fortunately I still have the car. After my kids left home to start their adult lives I pulled the car out of storage in 1995 and did a frame off restoration with many updates and have been enjoying it for 20 plus years.
Growing up in Pittsburgh in the 70’s I worked at a Boron Gas Station, we sold Atlas tires and they were a great tires, even when they first came out with Radial tires, they were just a great tire.
My mom and dad went to Los Vegas to get married in his 56 210 in 1975, I came a long 9 mo later. The 56 was my first car. On the way out to Edwards afb when I was 19 I had a blow out and rolled off the freeway and totaled it. My dad and I took the 327 and 4speed and built a nova.
Awesome video, reminds me of our 56 2dr post we bought from the original owner. When I was 6or7 My dad always.(like every month )took me to look or try buy this old car that sit in our neighbors house. He never would sale it. Well 35 years went buy and the owner passed away ,weeks went by and his son came to.start getting ready to sale his dad's house and my old man seen him down there and tried one more time to buy car. They guy said he would let him know in few weeks. The son come by my dad's house and said he found a note from his dad from many years ago that said give Mr Sims first option to buy his car. Well long story short we got the car for $1500 but my old man never got to drive or ride in it he passed away and I got it going and we take her out every time weather permits. Awesome video brother. Keep doing what you do

My dad had a primered black 55 Chevy 210 post car with a 327and Holley 750 double pump. He had that same shifter and boot on a rock crusher 4- speed. Brings back some memories cruising around Douglasville, Ga and racing mustard stains (mustangs)

LOVE that car and love the history! What a lucky family to have preserved such an epic car. There is nothing like a black 55 chevy sedan! Thanks for sharing the story.
I had a 355 flat top motor in my 66 Nova that I used to race. Loved it! In fact I still have both. My first car. I'm 70 today so I do remember all the old stuff you were pointing out.
Your 55 is a very cool old car. Not unlike like what you probably often hear, I had one just like it back in the day. The one car of many that I wish I had kept. Glad you still have yours. Enjoy the history of old cars like that. Thanks for sharing, Bill.
My dad was born in Massillon Ohio in 1912, had family that lived in Zanesville too. You remind me so much of my dad, our racing path was a little different, my brother started racing at the age of 5 before I was born, going in circles from the age of 5-12, then in high school he would drag my dads 57 Ranchero, three on the tree until my dad got tired of putting cluster gears in it, so a four speed was installed with a floor shifter, them motorcycle racing for the both of us then midgets and sprint cars, but my dad was a fan of all racing, growing up in Pomona, Ca with so many drag strips we went often. Thanks for your videos, it makes me remember the good ol days, especially being retired now . I see you shaking your head sometimes at your kids, my dad did the same as I did with mine 😂
There’s nothing cooler than a 55 Chevy, especially one with long family history. I think we’d love to see a carburetor video. I’m a young guy and struggling with tuning my Holley (I don’t have an old man in my family that has the experience you do) God bless you sir! Love your videos Matt from Canada
Well 'ol Dad, be it just plain luck or what ever this lil '55 is among the sweetest sounding SB's I've ever heard. I can only guess just how sweet it sounds in person and I can bet you, your Pop and Mom can'thelp smiling when they hear it roll up to their house. You're a good Son 'ol Dad.We know it will NEVER be abused as long as anyone in your family own it.

Love your '55!
I drive an original '56 panel still with a 235 3 speed 10 bolt.
loved the FM converter, now all you need is the power booster! definitely a cool time capsule. Thanks for sharing.
Love when you say "mum and dad..." great family story. Love your car! Cheers from Italy! ☺️
There’s nothing cooler than a 55 Chevy, especially one with long family history. I think we’d love to see a carburetor video. I’m a young guy and struggling with tuning my Holley (I don’t have an old man in my family that has the experience you do) God bless you sir! Love your videos

The Amp gauge and oil pressure gauge I believe are made by RAC. I sold several of these and that Mr Gasket tach back in the late 70s, early 80s.
