    I’m a beginner crocheter and I didn’t have much trouble following along especially with the pattern link provided! I thought I would’ve since it said intermediate level but I’m super happy with my outcome!

    I can't thank you enough for this video. My friend taught me to crochet but I've had such a hard time with reading charts and patterns. She's passed away and I don't know anyone else who has the patience to sit and explain this out the way you have. So again, thank you for helping this make sense to me lol

    Hi Marley, I was excited to see your video as I was already working this pattern when I got confused about the leg openings....but you skipped right over that part saying we all know how to do it. The instructions for large says 12 sc on RS turn. Then do another 11 rows the same way which leaves me on the WS. Do not fasten off. But the next line says to work on RS again....how did we get there? Please help :(

    Hi there. Thank you for this tutorial. I really love this video. But I have a problem when I started doing the changing of colors, seems like I can't make it as neat and clean as what you did. It looks messy on my work. How can I fix it?

    i’m thinking of making this for my dogs for christmas so they can match, is this pattern adjustable if my dogs don’t fit the exact sizes?

    You probably won't see this let alone answer it as I am trying to make this 3 yrs after you posted the video. But where does it say in the instructions that you continue in the Fair Isle pattern to row 24 for the size small? Now I am stuck and have no where to turn for help (very sad)

  • @thatjerseyb

    I would love to make some for my dogs... but even my 'smallest' dogs chest is 27" and shes only 44lbs... so even the 'large' is for what they consider a 'small to medium' size dog. I also have a dog that is 90lbs... lol so I guess he doesn't get a sweater either

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hate when that happens :( did you click the pattern link? I did give links to 10 MORE FREE CROCHET DOG SWEATERS at the bottom of the post. Maybe one of those would be a good fit?

    • @thatjerseyb
      @thatjerseyb 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MarlyBird I believe I found one. But the rest they all consider "extra large" to be 24"... even my 10 month old runt pitbull is 27". so in 3 months when its cold enough for her to need a sweater shes going to be even bigger. my biggest boy his chest is 35" and the largest of all those patterns only goes up to 30". So I will be on the hunt (year 3 of the hunt) for a pattern big enough to make my Duke a sweater along with his 2 sisters. It kills me to order them from amazon at $30 a pop when I have a wall of yarn that I can make them any color I want. I'm just not good at making clothing without a pattern lol.

  • @CopperHueCollectionsChippewa

    Nice sweater, however I wish you would use the correct crochet terms considering you’re an experience crocheter. You are confusing me with this kick out instead of saying increase because it’s not a crochet term.

    • @MarlyBird
      @MarlyBird  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I was trying to explain/describe the extra stitch on the chart. I did call it as an increase, then referred to it as the “kick out” to tie in the chart and help new chart readers understand why the edge is jagged like that. I’m sorry you were confused.

  • @rachelreynolds3609

    I started your dog sweater then get to the next step and your way ahead of me to begin with I have no chart I was watching you until you decided to stop showing how to do do it I was extremely upset 😠 with this I really wanted to make a sweater for my little doggy but now I can’t thanx 😡

  • @TLTSofit

    fair isle too fussy with the color changes and carrying colors. gives me anxiety.
    LOL. my mind says is holding a pocket sign reading ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
    I will just switch to a solid stripe every other row, i think. i often change patterns to fit my needs.
    no offense to the designer, fair isle is beautiful - i just cannot.

    • @mariakirby8213
      @mariakirby8213 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bet that if you measure your mastiff the way the diagram shoes you can probably crochet something really nice for them. I think it would be fun to try and the best thing is... you have the a real model. If you do try, don’t forget to write down as you go for the next time. Hope this helps and happy hooking to you☘️😉☘️

    Could you just explain the size you are working on in this video
    Instead of talking about other sizes
    You might know how to read instructions but you don’t know how to teach exactly what you are making in the video 👎
