    Appreciate all the effort you put into this for us all. I’ve just tried using sublimation ink pens and a spray to experiment on a cotton handkerchief BEFORE I try it on a t-shirt. Didn’t work fantastic, and after watching this I might just have to go with poly t shirts instead. Plus the pens I was using were a random brand from Amazon, so the colours weren’t that bright to start with (red and yellow). Might try some different transfer mediums though. Used paper first, then card stock because the paper seems to absorb more of the ink. The joys of experimenting.

    Hi Jennifer! when I sublimated on a 100% polyester T-shirt, i got a yellow tinge imprint where I used my heat tape! WHat caused this? It didn't happen on cotton fabric. Is it too much pressure or heat? I didn't get a scorch box outline, so I am just wondering if you have any ideas or suggestions. Thank you! And love your videos ❤

    • @JenniferMaker
      @JenniferMaker  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The yellow tinge imprint you're seeing on your 100% polyester T-shirt where you used heat tape could be due to a few factors.
      Polyester is more sensitive to heat compared to cotton. The yellow tinge could be a result of too much heat or pressure. Try decreasing your temperature by about 10 degrees Fahrenheit, as suggested in the context, and see if that helps.
      Sometimes, the adhesive on the heat tape can react with the polyester fabric under high heat, causing discoloration. Make sure you are using high-quality heat-resistant tape specifically designed for sublimation. It could be the kind of heat resistant tape that you are using. Cricut blue in color heat resistant tapes works wonderfully.
      If you are pressing the same area multiple times, it can cause discoloration. Ensure that you are pressing each area only once and allowing it to cool completely before moving on to the next section.
      Also, heavy T-shirts might have extra starch or other treatments that can react under heat.
