    * Recipe and tips below!
    * Glutinous Rice Flour I used (Mochiko) : amzn.to/39YGWwW
    ≫ 3 Ingredient Chewy Mini Rice Cake - The original flavor only needs 3 essential ingredients: sweet rice flour, milk, and sugar. There are other ingredients I put under the list, but they are OPTIONAL.
    ・Ingredient
    Milk or water 1 cup / 250ml
    Sweet rice flour 1 cup / 170g
    sugar 3tbsp / 35g
    vanilla extract (optional) 1tsp
    salt (optional) 1/8tsp
    matcha/cocoa powder (optional) 1-2tsp
    sweet rice flour/corn starch/oil/Anti-stick hand powder (optional) as needed
    ・Steps
    1. Mix milk and vanilla in a pot on low heat, bring it to boil. Or mix them and heat it in microwave till hot.
    2. mix all rest ingredients in a bowl (a size that fits into a microwave), add in the warm milk, mix well with a spatula.
    3. wrap the top of the bowl with a food-safe plastic sheet. Cook it in the microwave for 3 mins. Recommend to take out the bowl and mix well in the middle of the heating.
    4. alright. The dough is ready to eat. But let's swing first~ Beat or pound the rice dough with mortar if possible. The more you beat it, the chewier.
    5. shape the dough into your preferred size if you feel like it. I like spreading some corn starch on a cutting board, place in the sticky rice dough, and cut into small sizes. If it is too sticky, add more anti-stick hand powder.
    note: if you don't have a microwave, you could use the steamer to cook the mochi dough, probably takes around 20mins.
    storage: they taste the best when freshly made. You could store them at room temperature in a sealed container if cannot finish them. They will inevitably hardened, so please consume them within 2~3days!
    ≫ 只需要三种原料的手打麻薯团子
    ・原料
    牛奶或者水 1 cup / 250ml
    糯米粉 1 cup / 170g
    白砂糖 3tbsp / 35g
    香草精(可选)1tsp
    盐(可选) 1/8tsp
    抹茶粉、可可粉(可选) 1-2tsp
    糯米粉/玉米粉/油/其他防粘手粉(可选)适量
    ・做法
    1.將牛奶和香草在低火的鍋(或微波爐)中混合,煮沸。
    2.將所有剩餘原料混合在一個碗中(選擇適合放入微波爐的大小),加入熱牛奶,用抹刀拌勻。
    3.用食品安全的塑料布包裹碗的頂部。在微波爐中煮3分鐘。建議中途取出一次,充分攪拌。
    4.好了,麵團煮熟可以吃了。但是,建議你用研缽來捶打麵團。捶打的次數越多,就越有嚼勁。
    5.麻薯團可以切成自己喜歡的大小再吃(非必須)。我一般會在切板上撒一些防粘手粉,放入麻薯麵團,切成小小個的。如果太粘,可以加入更多手粉。
    備註:如果沒有微波爐,也可以上爐灶直接蒸熟,大概20分鐘。
    保存:剛做好的麻薯軟糯軟糯的最好吃,如果吃不完可以室溫密封保存。由於放置的時間越長,麻薯會變得越硬,建議2-3天內吃完。

      You say to put it in the microwave, but what watts does your microwave use? mine uses only 400, so do i have to cook it longer or the same? i wish to try this out but dont want to ruin it somehow

    • @galastudio9
      @galastudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many reasons could lead to not sticky texture, and here are A few items I recommend for self check:
      Did I use glutinous rice flour? No corn starch or other flour.
      Was the milk cold or too hot? milk at room temperature or warm is easier to work with.
      Did i use enough milk? Add a bit more milk or water and stir till smooth before microwave.
      Did I cover the bowl when microwave? Microwave will pull out water and make the dough dry. Make sure to cover the bowl with food safe plastic wrap or other workable lid.

  • @crackasilly
    @crackasilly 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I haven't tried this recipe yet, but I've tried two other recipes and I always encounter an issue. :(
    Sorry for the long read, I just want to cover as many details as possible just in case anyone has any ideas.
    I think it might have to do with the bowl I use, my microwave wattage, or the sweet rice flour.
    First off, I use Bob's Red Mill Sweet Rice Flour, and it DOES say on the package specifically about using it for mochi....but it does also say it's stone ground, so I'm not sure if that would effect it... I'm thinking maybe the powder isn't fine enough? (However there is also mochi made straight from pounding cooked sweet rice so this one could be out of question)
    Because whenever I make the mochi, it ends up not being stretchy or anything, it's like a very mushy dough and usually has a grainy texture, and doesn't hold together well when handled unless I apply copious amounts of starch, which by that point it just tastes starchy. ╥﹏╥
    Another thing is my microwave wattage. The two recipes I followed had different wattages (emmymade ; 600 watts, Sauce Stache ; 1500 wats) While mine is 1000 watts, so I'm not exactly sure whwatthe correct microwaving time is, and that's probably where most of my issue is happening. (╯︵╰,)
    Lastly, I don't have any microwaveable glass bowls so I've been using a ceramic bowl with plastic wrap over it. Not sure how much of a difference the bowl makes, but I figured I would just note that.
    Thank you to anyone who has suggestions, and I'll be sure to try out THIS method as soon as I get more sugar and corn starch. (⌒_⌒;)

      @amadacastillo8881 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi! i’ve encountered similar problems when making mochi but here’s some tips from me:
      1. i’m not sure about bob’s red mill but you’ll want to get either sweet rice flour or glutinous rice flour. both are super easy to find at your local asian mart, look for see through bags with the green writing! it’s very cheap too and has always worked for me. mochiko brand is also excellent! i use that one all the time and it works great.
      2. you might have to tweak a few recipes based on your microwave wattage. i’m no scientist but maybe try microwaving in 1 minute intervals of 2. so microwave for 1 minute, stir with a wet spatula, then microwave for another minute.
      if your mochi is still mushy after that and after some kneading, you may be using too much liquid or not enough heat in the microwave so try adjusting those variables! i hope that helps!!

    效果不错,看着就好吃😍👍,就是工具需要改进一下,你用木勺子当然累啊😂,下次找个木锤,捶打的时候蘸点水,省事省力效果好,另外在在清洗容器时,先用水泡一夜,第二天再洗就容易了😁💪

    After beating the dough, you coat it in corn starch? I thought you cannot eat corn starch raw?

    • @galastudio9
      @galastudio9  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on the amount. If this is a concern for you, you can substitute with cooked rice flour.

      疯狂的萨格尔王 谢谢。recipe类的视频我用的都是pr自带的效果,在creative那里调整就可以了。主要依靠前期在自然光线下拍摄。这次傍晚拍的,色彩各种的还原度都不太好。

    so do you put the mochi in the fridge if you want to eat it the next day? Or just leave it out? Will the mochi become dry if you leave it overnight?

    • @galastudio9
      @galastudio9  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I leave it out at room temperature. From my experience, it will inevitably become dry, so I’d suggest eating them within 2-3 days.

      Don’t put aluminum foil in microwave, it is dangerous. You may use another big ceramic plate to cover instead

    I can't buy sweet rice flour (or glutinous rice) in my country, just regular rice.. but would the recipe work if I were to grind normal rice into powder and mix it with corn starch (or maybe if I manage to find potato starch..) before adding milk to mixture?... or is there anything else I could add that actually has gluten in it...?

    • @galastudio9
      @galastudio9  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to say that, but I don’t think regular rice could substitute sweet/glutinous rice. It has to be sweet rice to achieve that sticky chewy texture. Have you tried look up mochiko? It is also glutinous rice flour but different name
