Great review (and host of course) and comparison 👍👍🙏 The CX-5 is made (fully assembled) in my country for sale in this region, and they are among the best sellers in this region (in their C-seg), with top ratings from professional reviewers. And this has been the case for years. Won't get into the details of why they are so good and great VFM, as it would be covered here and by others. Just wanted to state that, before pointing out that Mazda has newer and upcoming models that you might want to wait for, even if they are a little smaller or bigger. Their new line of more premium RWDs are suppose to be previewed by this year end, but they will be more expensive. However for those with families who own a few cars of different levels of luxury and pricing, they might want to wait and see. The all new CX-30 is there too, and in some markets the CX-50 with more off-road capability and tougher looks will be coming. The diesel on the CX-30 is really clean and efficient too. The CX-8 diesel (or more premium 9 - petrol only) is a good choice too, if you have small kids and regularly use the 3rd row. And of course the MX-30 👍👍 that I think is great for a city use second car in my country.

Just a little criticism. Sth is odd with this review. Like every 10 seconds topic is changing. I was used to and really loved the full length videos. Digesting all the info, expression, sound and feeling... I hope this is an exception since it's almost the same CX-5 as the predecessors which were reviewed by you lots of times. 😊 Btw: I changed the speed to 0.75x, and somehow it became more natural, much more like the previous Thomas 😀
haha =) Well since this is not all-new, I rather kept it condensed. If you have time in the evening or at the week-end, I strongly recommend stuff like this: th-cam.com/video/fk5Gfh3Q-Ww/w-d-xo.html
The car looks great. Very good build quality. However I find the interior quite outdated for nowadays standards, specially the instrument panel. And the infotainment system, I can't get why Mazda thinks it's safer without the touch screen, given it apparently takes much more time and attention to control it with that selection wheel.
It’s more integrated though… do you actually lose any functionality over having two screens stuck on? Hi(which let’s face it- is how most dashboards are now). This still has a proper integrated cluster and physical buttons for climate control- which I think look better and are more practical.
Mazda cx5 for 2022 does not have wireless Apple CarPlay. You have to plug your lightning cable to car USB causing wear to your plug on your phone. Ever time you get into your car you have to plug in. So much for the advantage of having wireless charging. You still have to plug in. 2021 had wireless CarPlay but they had problems do they removed it in 2022. Instead of fixing the problem they went backwards and removed. Come on Mazda get with technology. This is disappointing. Please come up with a fix and do an update to the 2022’s so there is wireless CarPlay.

@@rimmerblues1586 the 2.5 ltr non turbo has been available in the UK since January 21 so I am pretty confident it will available in the refreshed model.
Mazda listened and took the back plastic off👍
Normal grades have the plastic. Only the sporttrim has it black and the most expensive trim has it in color.
ya indeed these are the higher sporty trims, base models does have standard plastic cladding. Not too bad though.
@@Matt_Curlew still you get the option to remove the plastic. Hopefully they do this for the CX-30 as well. That car has waaayyy to much unpainted plastic around the wheel arches.
@@dragospahontu Officially it's just plastic painted ;) I think the CX-30 will look very weird if everything was painted.
@@Matt_Curlew back in my day cars that had unpainted plastic were the cheap base model. I guess now it's fashionable 😅.
Would you prefer the CX-30 or the CX-5?
CX-5
the CX-30 is a great package for not-that-tall-drivers and as a city vehicle etc. Good price/performance.

Since I am a little taller, the CX-5 is more comfortable for me. However the CX-30 is the more modern car as you also see in the video
@@autogefuehl thanks!
Please buy laser meausement
Very nice car, but not too roomy. Waiting for Cx 80 (7 seater). Hope for very spacious interior as well as family friendly solutions. Barcelona on the other hand clicks for me only with ID Buzz recently....
Btw: I changed the speed to 0.75x, and somehow it became more natural, much more like the previous Thomas 😀
haha =) Well since this is not all-new, I rather kept it condensed. If you have time in the evening or at the week-end, I strongly recommend stuff like this: th-cam.com/video/fk5Gfh3Q-Ww/w-d-xo.html
@@autogefuehl I started watching it yesterday evening, will spread the rest to the weekend 😊 Cheers!
2.0...165ps oder 2.5 ..194ps?🤝
2.5
Nice Jaguar
What i reaaly hate about mazda car, rear passenger seat
Mazda cx5 for 2022 does not have wireless Apple CarPlay. You have to plug your lightning cable to car USB causing wear to your plug on your phone. Ever time you get into your car you have to plug in. So much for the advantage of having wireless charging. You still have to plug in. 2021 had wireless CarPlay but they had problems do they removed it in 2022. Instead of fixing the problem they went backwards and removed. Come on Mazda get with technology. This is disappointing. Please come up with a fix and do an update to the 2022’s so there is wireless CarPlay.
Too many ads as usual … spoils the review
we do not decide about that. You can go for TH-cam Premium to avoid
@@autogefuehl actually you do decide. Check your monetisation settings. These are set up by the account during the setup process.

Chicane…. oldies
No touch screen and no panoramic sunroof🤔? Why does mazda not want new customers😒? Even lexus has caved in and gave us a touch screen, it's like mazda does not want us to experience their driving pleasure and built quality😡. Disappointed...
No panoramic yet because it’s still based on an old chassis. Supposedly coming.
No touch screen is annoying, I agree.
@@kc510 toyota put a panoramic sunroof on its rav4 prime with the base only having a normal sunroof, i think they could have pulled a rabbit out of a hat for this one just for the sake of young buyers, i mean they are competing against a vw tiguan🤷♂️... i will happily give up that self driving lane keep assist nonsense for a sweet pano-roof 😏
@@lloydmwinga5628 I hear ya. Might not have been physically possible the way the structure is, I don’t know. But I do know if you drive them back to back you certainly won’t pick the Tiguan unless you really do love all that glass lol. (Cx5 turbo, specifically)

The interior needs a redesign asap
Please start reviewing base models, most of the ppl would lease or finance base models not premiums. Terrible vehicle, 2,5 makes a lot of noise, road noise, terrible MPG, 6 speed auto trans. small front seats, small driver space (reduce space between your food and gas pedal with brick pedal-this is serious safety issue) , front arm rest way behind incl. cup holders, ac controls are way down and unsafe to control the ac when you driving, side mirrors vibrate with 70 mph, if you have premium pack there is TWO fuel indicators next to each other lol, heated steering is only 1/4 of it, line keep assist doesn't work 90% of the time in the Citi or suburbans driving, terible on long drive, there is good things: great automated head lights (if equipped) automated wipers, heads up display (if I equipped) blin spot monitoring, ventilated front seats (if equipped) I wouldn't recommend this vehicle, for that money there is another better options on the market.
My 2022 CX-5 Turbo Signature was one of the worst vehicles I've owned. Unreliable, rattly, low-quality junk. Spent 40+ days in 24 months and 23,5xx miles from new at the dealership.
mazda 3 interior is nicer
Still a SUV!
New Cx-5 has old style ugly interior design sorry! The car is elegant and sporty from outside but inside is realy bad like old car models.
😂😂😂
Fuel condumptio stinks!!!
The interior layout looks very parts bin . Never liked the interior. The center stack elements are too far apart.
Mazda need to change their style because it's old now
