Sorin those ITE on asus have self flash when they are empty, all you need to do is replace and insert dc power for a minute. worth the try 11$ on ali
I have to stop eating while watching. With a big mouthful of pizza I hear, “Schematics are for ouss@&$ “ I love your videos Sorin 😂
omg , you recently done big lesson . do NOT replace screen with battery connected
Professional only .. 😁
And you think, that exactly dude watch Sorin?
Please move a little bit the power supply camera so we can see the voltage too.
"Schematics are for pussies!"

i laugh my ass off when he said it
@@luisclaudio277 Sorin is the best. I've followed him for years, started my own business, he my mentor via his channel the entire time. New channel, new name, last year but been watching him since almost the beginning.
Facts: If Sorin can't repair it, it can't be repaired...oh and INDEED Schematics are for pussies! 😎
Leaned even more from this video. All the puzzle pieces are falling together 😀 thank you sorin! Im making a block schematic because most laptops seem to use all the same chips.
Your a great engineer sir...i wish could be like you.
I miss sound from air gun etc. ...
Dear Sorin, on the video minute 3:00 there is capacitor it doesn't look good, it seems to me that there is a hole in it.
thanks for your efforts.
@blootchy1: Yeah. (3:01 exactly and still image):
a) I see a dark (circular) spot just above the gray band.
b) I see 330. I would assume it is a 33 uf - 25V Tantalum Capacitor, although it could also be a 30V, 3A Schottky Diode
c) I see 2R0 but with a small black dot just to the right of the number 2 ... perforation?
If one of my technicians reports the above, my order will be: please remove it and we will check it together at the same time that my doubt in subparagraph b) is dispelled. Thank you very much for your observation (very good comment). All the best.
Love your humour. It's a pity you had to explain about the chip replacement but i suppose there would be viewers that might believe it. Make every job a challenge! Just a small explosion nothing weird!
nice video, very professional things !
Love the humor 😂😂thnx for sharing sorin..❤💯👍
good job sir like always
Gotta know when to cut your losses. Nice chase !
hi sorin , thank you for all ur efforts , check power sequence of this laptop , greetings from palestine

I have just replaced the IT5125e-128 and it worked without programming. The bios also contains the ec firmware. Asus vivobook X421IA, Bought it from aliexpress
question are all ec chips are different? I mean you can't find equal chips especially that they are programmable?
Nice video❤❤❤
😮Interesting. This board is very similar to HP also in the color of disposable boards. It seems to me that even on this board without a battery, the computer does not turn on. If a customer has replaced a screen, an estimator that remains short in the screen area. Either a cable output or a video card (in this case CPU). For a last attempt to disable A client's screen and connect an external screen. Maybe a miracle🙏🙏🙏
Hello🤝fix with Sorin style✌ 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👋👋👋👋👋👋
well I have learnt from the master , I will never replace any component without dis connect battery first . The only thing I need to know is if battery is connected then laptop / phone etc will probably be f**ked
Hey Sorin, here's a Question: *Did you have a specific reason for choosing the amscope SM-4TP and not the SM-4NTP model?* (The SM-4NTP is what Rossmann, TCRS circuit, etc uses) Also do you find you have to use the focus knob to stay in focus when you zoom with your microscope? (Or move the head up and down on the articulating arm to maintain Focus when you are changing magnification?)
Sorin is not using SM-4T. You can check his tools. It clearly says SM-4TP. And it makes a big difference. You cannot use both oculars with a camera at the same time on SM-4T. But on SM-4TP you can. It's massive difference. When it comes to SM-4NTP not sure how it is different.
@@TriodeTetrode Sorin just changed the link to the SM-4TP after seeing my comment. It was incorrectly linked to 4T prior to this change just made. He acknowledged it and thanked me for pointing it out.
@@PracticalKnow Ok. I just checked before writing comment.
thank you.
Thank you Sorin, I would like to know if the battery should also be disconnected for mobile phones, tablets and others before disconnecting the screen?
BIG YES
ALWAYS DO IT.
Of course disconect any kind of power before manipulate a board is a MUST...
@@Kubickz Thank you so much
Very Good man 😁
A sensible decision 👍
Thank you very much for this nice video.
If you need any help for Bios flashing or EC flashing. I’m ready to help you.
You can programm this via the connector next to it, it's usually a 15pin 0.5mm debug connector if there is a different KBC, if this is the kbc too, then you can use the keyboard connector. Also Asus boards autoprogram the EC most of the time.
Auto programming will happen only if the SIO is blank. But most of the time what we gets from China are refurbished chips which has already program in it !
didn't asus boards flash the ec everytime you do a bios update?
@@fattymcboomboom9254 , You have to use Windows or the BIOS built in EZ-FLASH to update the whole BIOS including the EC. However that's possible with a dead board, obviously.
@@anshadedavana on my asus I was able to start the board with the power pin defective caused by a defective ite io chip by removin bios battery and laptop battery, then just plugging the powercord will actually autostart the board after a while.
@@anshadedavana don't know if that behaviour is asus specific though.
Nice one
Prin ce zona a UK-ului esti, Sorine? Poate te vizitez intr-o zi.
England
Just a quick question, is that a hole in a chip at 3:00 or just a company marking?
That's Capacitor
What is price for costumers if he refuses to continue?
Whenever the system power get short, ec chip get affected, mostly
Sorin's box of arsenals.
Could you tell me how you know the chip information. I tried to find the data sheet but was unable to. How and where do you look? Thanks
RT8249C
You can use TPS51225C just cut 19 number track from the board. I've done this and works fine
@electronicsrepairschool what is the make and model of your electric screwdriver? I am tryihg to find it online but have had no luck so far.
Hello. It's a wowstick, by xiaomi.
Anyway if in any sorin's video you open the description, there is a link "my tools". There you can find the majority of the tool he uses.
@@agsdoom The one in his hands is a MiniWare ES15.😀
@@agsdoom thank you for the info. Much appreciated!
Can you check if chipset is dead before replacing SUPERIO chip ?
You can't without power, ITE chip has to try to turn on first and then you can see if the chipsed is alive or not, or use the thermal camera if there is a Christmas tree on the chip 😄
Which electric screwdriver is that? Is it good? Last long?
It's a MiniWare ES15!
7:44 hell yea ! :D
Hi Sorin
im asking a favor.
I bought same board on ebay but with bios password and i can not find the original bios because i dont know the model.
Would you send me the bios of this llaptop.
Or at least the exact model of llaptop.
Look for the website biosbug
May be your laptop model is supported?
just ask on forum... it is in description
5:10 charger port extra pin was in Acer ... do you remember?
If 5V is present but no 3.3V, Is it possible that ITE chip is dead?
Super🎉😊😊😊
sorin i saw in every electronist spare parts bag a led laser head lololol. I have too :)) i see in this video that is a chain defect , first goes pch after made a short in ec after in 3v ic xdd
Bad day at the office😂
❤❤❤
You do not need to replace the chip, just clean the charging port of the computer with thinner
Ldo chip is not same. 2N is 3.3v always on and use Vclk. 3H is 3.3/5V always on and use Skipsel pin
Hi sir what chip is LDO ?
Linear stabilizer as part of a PWM controller
@ngwanindi: In your browser type: wiki ldo regulator. (11:25) look at the part number on the plastic body of the component: 3H=5C type it into your browser. Find RT8249A/B/C (datasheet) and look closely at Pin Configurations (page 2). Terminals 3 and 13 are the answer to your question. All the best.
7:43 Karma
really some times sucks
3:00 seems to be burned ^^
I will have satisfaction sir!
wak wak... I'm the same duck 🤣🤣🤣🤣
i see this chip on aliexpress for like 9£
That's too expensive for an ic
I'm having a coffee....😊😊😊😊
👍👍

Hi
There’s a bulletin from asus stating that EC chip (it5125vg)failure is secondary to bad capacitors. That being said, your customer should be able to get warranty satisfaction
EC chip failure, with chipset failure, because of user, is not covered by manufacturer.
@@yeahright9014if the user change the screen himself, then yes, out of warranty
@@yeahright9014 if your motherboard is listed on ASUS’s website for EC chip failures, then it’s absolutely on the manufacturer.
@@TheElectronicDilettante That is not the case for the laptop in the video. The EC chip did not fail. It, and probably the chipset, which is merged with the CPU, were shorted BY THE USER. No manufacturer would cover such a case.
Love The Iggy Pop Reference..
Sir ji
Bang and the dirt is gone
Sometimes you can get the whole tested M/B from competing chinese sellers for 50 pounds anyway? and more and less depending on age and popularity. I get all my ipad boards from them and theres tons in those massive shopping districts where they just pull apart computers ect all day and sell the parts.
hi. do you buy them straight from the physical stores or get them online?
If you get them online, can you please kindly share their links
@@mpho_mnm Yes, I am also interested!
👌👌👍👍
Louis Rossman would have used a gallon and a half of flux on this.
So the take away from this video is: If I have a duck I can't just replace it with another duck?
❤🎉
40 £ too expensive
Looks like a dodgy capacitor at 3:00
newer laptops suck....solderred ram...even some have soldered wifi etc etc....my new alienware has f*cking soldered ram on it...but 4 nvme slots?! why??? rather have 2 nvme slots and 2 ram slots
It should be programed, and postage included with 40£.
Just replaced one and it doesn't need programming.
The 🦆 is working. Did speak the customer and do you fix this?
nimeni nu a vazut dioda aia impuscata? 3:00
:)
pardon condensator
@johncodersoon2169 I thing that is the logo of the component and not a hole.
I also saw :) You have a good vision ... there is a crumb above with lighting from the side looks like a hole on the dark side
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
