I'm really glad I found this channel. Tons of cool tips. I may not agree with everything I see on every video, but I certainly respect the experience of the man doing this. I wonder, are you a general mechanic, auto body or detail shop? I know shops can be a bit if everything, but in specific I'm curious. I retired from auto body in 2002 and we did tons of wild stuff with cars and trucks, and I've learned some odd tricks over the years. We were doing headlight polishing before there were kits made for it. It always gave the customer a wow factor when they had a fender bender needing repair, only to get the car back with headlights that looked new again, but had no extra charge for the service. We did that for returning customers and folks that weren't a huge pita to deal with. I guess I could say it's always wise to be kind to your mechanic!

In college I inherited a pontiac station wagon where the headliner rode on my head. Got fed up and used heavy duty staples to put it back up and then used nail polish in a similar color to the headliner on the staples so they would blend in. Worked well enough for a college kid's car. Your method look much better. :)

Followed your instructions and it worked. I am very happy with the results.
The car is a 96 BMW which has a recess over back seat that had dropped out.
I managed to remove some glue spots with glue remover solvent.
Found that using quite a bit of glue remover would helped distribute the glue above for a more continuous coverage.
It took me two attempts to get the syringe seal in the can properly.
Another trick, I found one of those chargeable paint thinner spray cans that had the same top on it as the glue. Therefore I was able to clean out the syringe. So hopefully I will be able to re-use it.
So thanks for the video. This has save me many hours it would take to remove the lining board and glue the complete thing.

..in your examples, the foam is new. ..usually when a headliner is sagging, it's because the foam backing is old and degrading. ..and if you stick your hand up in there behind the fabric and run your hand up along that foam on the roof pannel, it will come off in a fine dust. You can actually very easily scrape it off with your finger nails and roll it up into a tacky rubbery little ball. Your foam is new, but will glue adhere to degraded foam? Let me know, thanks.

I think your videos are all fantastic, and I enjoy watching them. I especially liked the
ones on how to refurbish old dirty cracked leather car seats. I must say, truly amazing,
and I'll have to try that. Kind of looks to good, and easy to be true, but it looks authentic.
I would say though on this "headliner" video, you should explain to viewers what causes
these headliners to sag. If you don't, your repairing it for nothing as it will soon sag again. You firstly have to get to the "root" of the problem that's causing the headliner to sag, and that's usually caused by a small water leak, that over time, breaks down the adhesive holding the liner up. I'll post an "example" of what happened to me, regarding this problem
What caused my sagging headliner was this - on the "outside" of the car, right
at the top of the front windshield, is a long chrome banding piece that hold
a rubber seal in place. It had come loose, causing "water" to slowly leak in over
time. The headliner "inside" started to droop from the very top front, up by the
windshield, and spread to the middle, then the back. It was an 86 Buick Park
Avenue, and this happened in the year 2000. I took it to an upholstery place, and they told me to get the "cause" of the problem fixed (water leak) before they would
replace it, with a new headliner, as it would be a waste of money and happen
    again. Makes sense right !!!
I took it to an auto body shop, and they had some special strong adhesive, and
I believe it was poly eurathane. They put some of this eurathane on the rubber,
and put the long chrome holder back over the rubber, and put a weight on it for
4-5 hours to let the eurathane adhesive set up. This fixed the problem.
I then took it back to the upholstery place, and they put in a new headliner. There was no more problems, and no leaking of water anymore. If your problem
is caused by water--which I would estimate 95 % are then get the water leak
fixed. You will also see very light water stains on your old liner, when you look
up at it, when it's sagging--then you know it's a "water leak."
Note-there is always anti-smoking fanatics, that blame smoking for a lot of different things that are just not true. So good new smokers--keep puffing away, and do so in peace, as it will not affect your car's interior headliner. The only thing you have to worry about is lung cancer, and yellow stained fingers :) Now these are "real" effects of smoking. I say this, as there was some guy that thought that cigarette smoke caused this- "no chance." His comment is below in the comment section, and also refuted by 3-4 other smokers, including myself.

My headliner (light grey thin cloth) on my Chevy Express van started peeling away at the windshield last year while on the road towing my travel trailer. I stopped at a hardware store and bought some spray contact glue and applied it. It held up until this month and started peeling away again. My GF suggested contact glue used for sewing materials. I tried that a few days ago and although messy, it did a nice job of holding the edge of the headliner up. Only time will tell if it lasts.

Looks good for a quick fix. All for that. However, taking out the lining, which can take time, is worth while to distribute the fabric evenly. (Learning the hard way about that one).

Mich Arquette you are correct the only right way is to replace it but then you gotta know what you are doing there as well :)

Great tips. I replaced my headliner in my truck with stretch denim once and it was fairly easy so don't be affraid to try replacing it completely if it's totatally shot. Love these videos!

😳🤷🏼‍♀️spray nozzle DOES NOT come with tip any longer. Bought 77 & 90 & all supplies as directed FROM LINKS. Any suggestions ?!?!? Should I still glue needle tip to spray nozzle w/o tip 🤷🏼‍♀️ Is there a way to contact you to get advice? Other platforms? Email? PLEASE HELP (girl in need of direction) I lost my husband in November & you're my only guidance 😩🙏🏻

Using this amzn.to/3iYHiYK take your time and glue the needle to the nozzle being very careful not to plug the nozzle or the hole going into the needle. Don't be afraid to glue it heavily to make sure that it does not leak. Hope this helps, thank you so much for the donation, it's truly appreciated my friend. Hope you have a fantastic day and all the best on your project. mad Mike the hammer SPC & team

    Thanks man!
My concern: will the glue hold for long enough in my country cos of very hot weather?
