- SHOCKED! Who knew death could be embraced in so many ways around the world?! What do you think about the mummies of Guanajuato? Strange? Awesome? Messed up!? Mexico celebrates death in many ways, and this museum is a great example of how the country accepts death opposed to fearing it.

Wow how unusual (the museum). Gotta say the nosh at the end looked good. Those steps after your meal could be a challenge. Really enjoyed this vid - keep them coming . . .
Unbeatable prices and the taste so good I would go back to Guanajuato just to eat another torta from El Pollo Non! I almost fell down the steps when I reached for the torta, you can hear the chef saying “Ayyeeee Cuidado” (ahhh be careful) hahaha!! And when I went with Gordon he did trip on them coming down but avoiding falling luckily!

We love Chasing a Plate's videos as well! The mummies were really interesting, I think it might be quite confronting for some people to see. Its really interesting how death is dealt with in different cultures.

WOW!! That was awesome to see, l had no idea it was the dry heat that mummified a body now Egypt makes sense. The foetus though my goodness it's mind blowing to see and understand. This was my absolute favourite city when CAP went there, love the mountains the colour and the Torta l can smell it through the screen almost. Drone shots over the cemetery gave us a complete picture and breathtaking views. Fantastic video Finn very impressed 👍

Thanks a lot guys!! Definitely cremation and being sprinkled in a nice part of the world is the way to go. Imagine these poor souls being on display forever, most naked, for all to see. And like you mentioned, how can this be allowed?! The families probably received a small wad of cash to allow it 🤷♂️
Fabuloso!! Me encanta como nos explicaste las historia de las famosas momias. Yo las vi por primera vez en 1972 cuando estaban alojadas en una cueva y se podia tocarlas! Ay!! Y el olor!! La segunda vez fue contigo en 2006 cuando visitamos el museo. Sabes que las momias hacen aventuras por el mundo para dar exhibiciones y ganar dinero para caridades en Guanajuato. Esas momias son muy trabajadores!! A ver donde estaras durante El Dia de los Muertos. Seguro que nos daras un video especial para esa ocasion.

I would legit travel back to Guanajuato to eat that torta 😍🤤 So stoked you loved it too Finn. I had a big smile on my face seeing the colourful buildings, the restaurant and the city- it brought back awesome memories. The video he linked with the Torta was one of my favourite for you Guys in Mexico, remember you chasing someone to find the Cebadina drink made from the hibiscus flower that bubbled all over the place made a huge mess but oh so much fun to watch!! Memories came flooding back so thanks Finn👍

Brilliant video, so much history in Guanajuato and the mummies definitely serve as a constant reminder to live life while we can, also love the torta part of the video pollo non definitely has the best tortas in Mexico

Wow WANNA-WAH-TOE are you going to KE-RE-TAHR-O? Screaming. That torta looks great but obviously all vegetables would need to be removed. If you need a face lotion for dry skin there's a good one in Soriana it's a white colour very creamy I think it's a Mexican brand the only problem don't take it on a flight coz when I opened it after it splatted in my face. I'll try and remember the name xx

Man.If those mummies were on display for not being able to pay for the crypt.They have more then paid back what was owed.They need to be re buried.No one.Especially after death be on exhibit.
It’s crazy huh. They apparently bring in a lot of money for small charities in Guanajuato by touring the world. They go on exhibitions in museums and the money comes back into Guanajuato. Still, it’s poor taste if you ask me.

Agreed it’s a really taboo topic in Guanajuato. But for real I did hear that charities profit from the travelling mummies exhibits.
