Yogi Bear is a simple, unassuming platformer with beautiful graphics and music, no challenge, and lots of charm. It's not long, but it's fun while it lasts.

This is a game that interested me for a while, but a lot of the reviews I’ve watched were negative, so it’s nice to know someone out there likes this game. Now I’ll consider adding this to my SNES collection.

Well said! There are certain genres of games that I loved! Tecmo 🏈Super🏉🏉Bowl🏈 became my first NES sports game that was perfectly designed for me. I loved football, AND I loved statistical analysis and compilation. Tecmo Super🏈Bowl🏈had it all! Then later I found the Sega Genesis, and it blew my mind! Now I loved gaming. I used to shovel snow, rake leaves, ANYTHING that I could do to help me make money I did. I then got a job at the local grocery store pushing carts. Ugh! However it paid me and with that I was able to get a SNES, and later a TurboGraphx-16. After "moving up?" LOL, I got a $0.²⁵ cent raise! Whoo hoo! LOL! However I was able to acquire basically all of the 8-bit and 16-bit systems that were released. My favorite games were again the Sports games, next came the side scrolling adventures. Even those genres had sub-genres. Like the fighters.....Streets of Rage, Final Fight, etc. Then the standard.....Super Mario! Next one of my other favorites, the Comic book Superheroes, and the Comic or Cartoon based games. One of my all-time favorites is Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse. There were Bugs Bunny games, Tiny Toons, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Casper, another favorite, The Flintstones, and others. That sub-genre became one or, y favorites next to the sports games. Games like Mortal Kombat were okay. Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Pit Fighter, Virtual Fighter were all decent, but I was so so playing them so? But again I LOVED the variety of great games we had back then. Something new was ALWAYS coming out. Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine, Gamepro magazine, and Nintendo Power always had reviews but the PREVIEWS were always loaded with the newest and more recent games. Those days? For a gamer? Those were the GOLDEN DAYS OF GAMING! I REALLY MISS THOSE DAYS, A LOT!

My cousins had this game and I would play it when I went over to their house but we always got bored after the first 2 or 3 snow stages and quit playing this and switched to Mario World. The oldest sister still has it though and says she still plays it occasionally.

The use of the Westminster Chimes when you collect time increases was a clever touch. Looks like a fun little game to play.

I love how the programmers used to add little subtle effects effects or "touches" like that into their games. Where IF you didn't move or hit a button after a few seconds the character would look at you, sometimes with a look of disgust....lol, tap his/her/it's foot, or even WORSE throw up their arms and actually ask, WHAT'S THE HOLD UP?" Or some oddball phrase. Again those days of gaming? Legendary!

Would be great if the camera actually moved properly so you could see what was coming when falling down the platforms. It’s especially frustrating when trying to consecutively jump on the picnic baskets.

Well, this is one definitive example of what licensed shovelware was in the '90s. No passion, no diversity, no charm. Just slap a recognizable character and asset swap the collectables.

I never heard of this game as a kid and am only here to check it out because I just read of it (only very briefly; they barely covered it) in an old issue of Nintendo Power. It is surprisingly pretty! It reminds me of Plok, visually (though of course it's far less surreal).

I know Yogi Bear but i only saw excerpts of the animated series. I never watched it in its entirety.
    I watched more Scooby-Doo.
As for The Flintstones, i only saw the live-action movies.
    This SNES game looks good.

I guess a video game about Yogi Bear isn't that far out of an idea. After Scooby Doo, and The Flintstones Yogi Bear is probably Hanna Barbara's 3rd most successful property. After all he does have his own chain of of themed campgrounds across the United States and Canada. Plus this was the 90's WB owned the Hanna Barbara license by this point as well so they could license it out in addition to their normal WB properties. Sunsoft was the one who usually handled all of those games I believe. Most being quality titles.

Up from the darkest mires of Chaos, I saw a foul ursine beast, its head fast approaching. Its wild maw dripped with hateful desires for murder and blood. As it spied me, it open its vile maw in a terrible roar and yelled:

My mom and I had this game when I was little. We played it lots of times but could never even make it through the tundra area. I never even made it past the first level. To this day I don’t understand what the point of this game was. There were no bosses to challenge Yogi, and there isn’t even a plot to this game. It’s pointless

I used to love the cartoon based games. My all-time favorite being Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse. The Flintstones was another brilliantly made classic! Tiny Toon Adventures was another great example as well. Another great game although NOT a actual "cartoon" character, was Bonk's Adventure & Bonk's Revenge for the TurboGraphx-16 system. Oh and one I totally forgot, BOOGERMAN.....A PICK & FLICK ADVENTURE! THAT was one of the most hilariously made, incredibly goofy yet nasty games made yet it was awesome! When your character has two weapons, the first being a Burp. 🗣💨BURRP! The second weapon is a FART! Yes a Fart! 🤼💨🥴🤢🤮 PLUS on top of that? Your farts light up and they give you the power of FLIGHT! Now that's a hilarious way to tell a story! Especially for teenage boys!
Also Battletoads, Toe Jam & Earl, and some other games made these early systems so amazing! What's so incredible is even NOW, these classical systems are in my opinion just as awesome of possibly BETTER than they were back then, considering how bad the gaming industry has become! I honestly would EASILY RATHER HAVE A NES, a SNES, a Sega Master System, a Sega Genesis, and a TurboGraphx-16 over any of the latest systems/technological advances that they've made. With the exception of the sports games like MLB The Show, the newer games? They stink!
