    Deco Art Patio Paint. The best for dotting. You do not have to thin the Patio Paint Outdoors.
    I use these paints for dotting. Canvas. Model Railroading. Military Models and so on!
    I purchase the paints at Hobby Lobby, especially when they are 40 percent off.
    Great video by the way.

    A little bummed the tip is to use another paint. It's hard to find one color, much less two of the same. I'll need to try craftsmart premium.

    So I've gone ahead and ordered your tool set, even though I didn't really need it. I've manage to collect a managerie of various things to use for tools and have a really good variety of sizes. But I'm going to put the pen tips back in the pencil cup, and the styluses I've been using (only 2) back in the clay tool set, etc. I say I didn't really need them because I'm not a dedicated dot artist. I do polymer clay work making jewelry and a host of other items, I do regular painting of landscapes, etc. and I move back and forth between all of that as my mojo dictates. But I love the idea of a nice consistent set of tools. So - where do I get that nice plastic rack that you keep your tools on?

    Helpful and nice to know another kind of paint. I have found the deco art americana line to be fairly consistent with their paint and creates a very smooth surface. I have a lot of Martha Stewart paint my mom gave me, its over a year old. Should I just mix it with another paint color? I hate to get rid of it....thanks for your informative videos.

      I do use many different brands of paint but some need a little doctoring to get the consistency I am wanting. I do find many of the Martha Stewart paints a little thick. You can absolutely mix them with a thinner paint of a similar color or if you want you can use something like Floetrol to help thin it down. Here is a video I did on thinning paint down using Floetrol: th-cam.com/video/F4MGmfW2f2M/w-d-xo.html

    Thank you. Do you buy white tiles and paint them. I haven't been able to find black one's.

    Matte paint was purchased. Will that work?

    • @MarksMandalas
      @MarksMandalas  ปีที่แล้ว

      Matte paint will have better adhesion. As far as consistency it is personal preference. Also if you want a gloss look after you are finished with your piece you can give it a gloss clear coat and it will look glossy. 😃👍

    Thanks for the tips! How do the Craft Smart basic acrylics compare with the premium ones?

    • @MarksMandalas
      @MarksMandalas  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find their basic to be not nearly as good as the Premium. In my opinion spend the extra for the premium. If you want, buy the same color of the basic and the premium and do a side by side comparison. I think you will agree the Premium is much better. 😃❤️👍🏻

      @@MarksMandalas Thanks Mark. I bought the only 4 colors Michels had today. Premium are hard to come by. Everyone must be watching your videos!

    Hi Mark. Love your videos. I.m new to dotting and am wondering if you tell me why my paints are sometimes drying cracked? I'm using Craftsmart with a bit of Floetrol.

    • @MarksMandalas
      @MarksMandalas  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cracking is often a sign of paint drying too quickly. Air flow can cause this and I see this issue more often with more budget paints such as Apple Barrel and regular CraftSmart. You may want to try a bottle of CraftSmart Premium. It is a little more expensive but I like it much more than regular CraftSmart. I experience much less cracking and it has more pigment saturation. I hope this info helps. 😃❤️👍🏻

    Mark - you need to know that the “black lazy susan” you promoted in one of your utubes - is really an inferior product! A waste of hard earned money. Please stop endorsing it - I love your channel!!

      I am sorry you feel that way. I am still using that turntable and I am very happy with it. Maybe you received a defective one? Why do you feel it is an inferior product? I have had no problems at all with mine. It spins nicely and does the job I got it for.
