I can’t begin to understand people abandoning their pets when they move, even just across state lines. It’s literally the easiest thing to take them with you. I don’t care if I’m moving to the damn moon, I’m getting a little astronaut suit and bringing my cat with me.
And also, if you really can’t take care of them, put them up for adoption. Ask neighbors if they want him, and if they don’t, a shelter will take them.
Same!! I've only lived in places that allow animals. If any place says they don't allow my animals they don't need me living there. Thankfully spouse and I live with their dad who owns his house and we have five cats. Any apartments or other rental homes that don't allow pets isn't worth my time...no matter how good the price or if I like the place. I wish more people felt that way and stopped treating their pets like disposable property.
It broke my heart to see the cat sitting in front of the house and lifting his head up every time a car passed. Even if the owner didn't love him, the cat had love for them, and that's why it didn't want to leave immediately. I'm so appreciative of the woman who rescued this cat, its people like her who make a good difference in the world.
Ya. it's super sad. When we moved it took us a week of going back to our old house to try n catch our cat. He was an pure outdoor cat alley cat. He just wanted to live his own life. We finally managed to catch him. Brought him to our new house. Let him loose on the boat cuz it was at both houses so it was familiar place and he didn't leave it for like 2 weeks. Couldn't even coax him out with food. Had to put food/water up in the boat for him. Till 1 day my grandpa was eating KFC N Felix was lookin like he wanted it. So Gramps threw w.e was left of the piece on the floor. N Felix stared at it then went for it n was gucci. Figured it was the home we were staying out. He ended up dying 2 years later. He just disappeared saw him 1 day through out the whole day way more than usually. Got to pet em a few times which (was rare af) then he vanished. Figured hew as just old wanted to see his family 1 last time then go pass on peacefully. We never gave up on trying to get the little dude from the house tho. Neighbors the one who actually managed to catch him for us.
Two years ago my country suffered a terrible earthquake. The first instinct I had when I felt the shaking was to get my cats. I literally wouldn't leave the house without them. I can't comprehend how people are so vile.
We have earthquakes and wildfires where I live, and my first instinct is to remember where our cat carrier is and check to make sure my cat is within grabbing range. She is coming with me if we have to evacuate, 100%.
Where I live has floods. I asked my mother, “What if there’s a flood? What about the chickens?” And I love my chickens as much as a dog-lover or a cat-lover, so if there is a flood I’m carrying those fat lil chickens and drag them outside, my family can swim and walk and run and escape xD
That cat went from a family that didn't value him almost at all to a family that moved their washer and dryer to give him his own room. That cat definitely traded up. Good on these people and shame on the jerks that completely abandoned him.
My neighbors did this as well. They started leaving their cat outside around a month before they left. Before that I believe the cat was indoors/outdoor. But I remember seeing his little bed and water bowl outside all the time. Like literally the water would get full of dirt and bugs and his food would be left out and get dirty too. And one day when they finally left, the poor cat would come to their door and cry and cry , it was heartbreaking to see him cry to a door that wasn't going to open bc no one was there. . . And one night I called him and he came to me and walked inside my home 😊 and now he is my cat 😊
God bless you. Something is very wrong with people who treat their pets like the people in the video. The reason why we so easily become attached to little soft and defenseless creatures (and end up speaking to them like they're babies like the woman in this video did ♥️) is that we have instincts to help us properly care for actual babies. In other words, it's unnatural to dump your "baby" like this. That takes a cold and heartless soul. Ugh.

I have similar story, after my wife and I got married back in 2013. We came back from visiting family and one evening when I was cleaning my car, this cat came up to me. It was friendly and everything. To make a long story short, we found out the cat had been abandoned. The cat had been sleeping under the tree near our front door. I ended up picking her up with zero resistance and bringing her inside. She still lives with us to this day.
I really hope the people that abandoned him see this video and realize just how awful people they are. Unforgivable and cruel. I hope they never have another pet because they don’t deserve the love of an animal.
People who treat animals like lifeless possessions astound me. I moved 13 times with my cat in his 15 years of life, and never considered leaving him behind. Our home was with each other. It's been two years since he died and I still mourn him every day. He was my friend.

This video doesn't mention it, but on that vet visit, he was diagnosed with feline leukemia and the vet told her Rolo's time is very limited, possibly only about six months left to live, so she's dealing with that too. The last tiktok update she gave for him was last month on 2/13 and showed him looking pretty healthy so hopefully he'll beat the odds a little.

My family and I were evicted when I was 13 years old. I refused to leave my dog at a pound like my dad wanted. Slept in the car with him for 2 weeks until we were able to find a new home. I would’ve never abandoned him. He passed away October 2019 after 16 wonderful years together. People who abandon their pets have no heart in my opinion.
Happened to us as well. We had neighbors who threw their indoor cat out for some ridiculous reason & she started coming to our home where would always feed & love her. Eventually we went over & asked if they minded if we took her in. They said sure. Her name was Kiki & she lived with us until she sadly passed at the ripe old age of a whopping 23! She was well loved & we miss her dearly.
Wow, I named our new neighbor’s cat Keke bc I didn’t know if it was a boy or girl when we first seen him lol. He started coming to visit almost every afternoon since spring of 2020. Long story short, neighbor left him behind this spring 2023 and we took him in. Watching this video reminded me of how our lil boy would go to his old empty house up the street and wait at the steps 😢 Now he’s a very loved well taken care of boy. He doesn’t even go to the neighbor’s house anymore when he’s outside. As I type this, he’s sleeping between my husband and I at the foot of the bed 😍
My neighbors put their cat out in the winter and I found him trying to get something to eat from the scraps I put out for the crows. He was nothing but fur and bones so I started feeding him outside but as the weather got worse I convinced him to some inside and now he's basically taken over. He's over 18 years old and so I spoil him rotten.
how evil those monsters neighbors are, how cruel can one be to put a domestic pet outside in winter!! its called killing slowly with torturing. they should get some cruelty too, especially financial cruelty for animal cruelty
@@NaiHmee Yeah. :/ How hard is it to ask around? Clearly, they had at least one neighbor who was more than happy to adopt him. If worst came to worst, they could have just turned him in to the shelter. I know that that could get him euthanized and stuff, but it's still better than just dumping him.
@@rickylee6518 perhaps like where I live because you are not allowed to have a pet. I don’t know the owners’ circumstances but perhaps they moved to a flat where they couldn’t keep the cat. Should not have abandoned it, though.
I don’t understand people who abandon pets. Like, there are so many other options. Even if you’re moving somewhere that doesn’t allow pets, it’s your responsibility to make sure they have a good place to live. I actually met a homeless man in Chicago who had his cat with him. He told me the cat was all he had, and he was going to make sure his little buddy was taken care of. So yeah, if someone with almost nothing can take care of their pet, everyone else has no excuse.
I wish i knew then what i know now. Some of us think we are doing the best thing for them, but find that not all animal shelters are no kill and cats don't automatically know how to take care of themselves outside. It makes me sick to think how i did abandon my cats at one time. Two to the shelter and one outside. I was young and ignorant. Now even having two rescues with health issues, i plan to keep them until they go to their final rest. So sorry for my mistake. I am sad and angered by those who knowingly dump animals. So many...😥 Adopt a rescue. Furever pals!
Yes! I met a homeless man not too long ago outside a Walmart, and he had his dog. It was winter. The man had no jacket or anything because he had taken it off and put it over the dog to keep him warm. He had a sign asking for money, so I gave him some (I expected him to buy food for himself) but when he came out of the Walmart he had bought some dog food for the doggo. It was very sweet. I chatted with him for a bit and he was very nice. He hung out there a bit, and people would start buying food and supplies for both him and the dog. A homeless shelter opened up in the downtown part of our city, and when someone told him they allowed pets he packed up his stuff and brought him and his dog there. I hope they’re doing alright.
I think every breeder, shelter and shop should make you do like a basic test about the specific animal you want. That way less fucking garbage people like them might just abandon their family members
And there should be civil fines. Sadly, people won’t do what is right, so there have to be consequences for bad behavior. It’s especially true in a case like this where they could have taken the cat to a shelter or asked their neighbors if anyone would be interested in taking their cat. It costs you nothing to do that.
I don’t care how many times your cat scratches you, bites your, or hurts you, you should never leave it on the road to just sit there and wait for you. It’s not hard to just give it to someone else.
lol wow. I must be a stone cold blooded killer because if a cat scratches me, I will definitely get rid of it, most likely in a cat carrier right outside the humane society...
@@alexgibbs356 get rid of a cat for scratching??? I can understand if the cat doesn't love you and always hurts you, but cats are gonna scratch and bite if you annoy them, unlike most dogs.
True, we got a rescue cat and for the first month, he would suddenly just bite or scratch. The vet said he was a mouther and to give him kicker toys. Plus when we picked him up we learned not to move in front of his face as that would cause an immediate reaction. So at this time, he has gone through 3 Jackson Kicker toys. He follows me around and his scratches only come if his claws grow out just a little too much. He was so worth the time and love and he gives back 100 fold. I and my husband love our 3 babies. Please don't give up on cats that scratch, that is their way of protection, find out how to minimize as maybe it is the way you are holding it or maybe the direction. Once you get their trust they can become so loyal and loveable.
I adopted my neighbor's cat, too. They were a young couple, first time living together. Their first pet was the cat,....then a year later they got a dog. Their cat was always outside, and the new puppy got all the attention. Their cat would visit me, all the time when I was out in my yard, doing gardening. This went on for a whole year. Their cat hung out with me, patiently watching me do yard work, or when I was building a concrete block retaining wall. I had my own indoor cat. Eventually the couple was moving away,...and they told me I could have their cat. That was just fine by me,....they did nothing to show that cat they cared for her. I took her in, she eventually became friendly with my older female cat. She lived beyond my cat's life time,....for ten years,....and came to accept a new kitten I had gotten, later on.
i really hope that couple's dog got rehomed too. the cat didn't deserve to be ignored like that, and there's no telling they'd do the same to the dog :(
I’m crying my cat is my whole life and I can’t imagine him sitting outside wondering where I am and I’m at a new house warm and cozy while he’s in the rain :(
Same here 😣😢 I’d rather live in an uncomfortable situation but with my cats, rather than living in a cozy and comfortable environment but without my cats.
I have 5 rescues when i worked i would always miss them despite knowing they were safe and Cozy in my house. I have like 5 cat trees and beds and plenty of stimulating Toys for them and still i worry that they might get lonely waiting for me or my fiance to come home. I'm on leave now due to a disability, i don't even spend the night at friends houses much anymore because being home with my cats Feels much better.
One of my cats slept outside on a thunderstorm before I brought him in. I still have him now 12 years later. I don't regret my decision to make him mine.

You can here her voice.she’s trying not to cry.if anyone ever abandons/hurts/abuses there animals they don’t understand it could really hurt the animal and other people. Its just wrong.
@Steve Parker No they are not. This isn't just some stray cat. If it spent its life living in a house and being cared for, it is not a stray so it can't fend for itself. It is super messed up that you think this is okay. A great human being you are! 👏
That's how we got several of our cats. Neighbors would move and leave their cats behind. When I was a leasing agent at an apartment complex, people would move and leave their cats to the unknown. Thank Goodness I was able to rehome all of them, some with friends, some with us. We can't save them all, but when it's right in front of your face you have to help. If everybody did that - there'd be so much less suffering, with people and animals.
You guys in the homing industry need to start levying fines for animals left at vacated properties. If you can prove they belonged to the renters/owners via records/fees/video/etc you NEED to punish them for abandonment. Legally it shouldn't be hard to argue finding animal damage at a vacated property is detrimental and having a lone animal is liability. Doesn't matter if it's a bored dog or scratching cat or lizard excrement or insects getting loose in the walls... Incorporate a clause in the lease that if a proven animal in their care is abandoned for over a week there will be HEFTY fines. Make them literally pay and people will rightly reconsider their responsibilities.
@@Undomaranel In many ways I agree with you, except that I think that would lead to people cruelly killing their pets to avoid the fine. And in many cases, it's because they're being evicted. So they have no money. Also, because so many shelters have a 90+% kill rate, some owners who can't take their pets, also can't bear the thought of them being killed by a shelter. They think the cat has a better chance of surviving if left alone. (Not quite the same with dogs). Unfortunately, statistically, they might be right. But many people don't know about the no-kill shelters. Even though they don't always have space for new cats. Unfortunately, the upcoming evictions crisis because of COVID is going to be really hard on pets. The no-kill shelters will all be full, and even animals who are very loved will have no place to go. My one cat only survived a kill shelter because she is a beautiful blue eyed long-haired lilac point siamese. But even the shelter that had her was about to give up and euthanize her. She had been abused and had so much PTSD. Fortunately, their vet called around and found another shelter to take her. She spent a year there before I adopted her. I knew when I met her if I didn't adopt her, she'd probably wait another year. She was about 3.5 years old at the time. For the first 6 months I had her, I locked us together in a walk-in closet every day for an hour, just so she could get used to being nearby a person who wouldn't hurt her. Then the next 6 months I would pick her up and kiss her and immediately put her back down. That was 6 years ago. I've now been loving her for more than half her life. She no longer runs and hides under the couch when I wear my Dansko clogs on the wood floor (I think they might sound like work boots that may have kicked her a few too many times). She's my baby girl now and she now knows she's loved. When I'm sad or sick, she gets really concerned and won't leave my side. She needed so much time and love and rehabilitation, but it makes me appreciate her so much more, knowing how far she has come.

@Kim o I think from the video, with the cat sitting outside the house for several days after the owners left, and then obviously expecting to go back to that house at some point (staring out the window) it's 99.9% likely their cat (unless the person who made the video is omitting some very important facts) however, regardless of how the first owner came to "look after" that cat, it seemed to only be living with them, and thus, if you were the sole care giver of a cat for 2 years or more, you essentially have responsibility for it and definitely should find it a new home if you couldn't take it with you.
@Kim o if the cat lives with them in the house it’s not a stray. Also his behavior makes that theory seem a lot less probable. But what you are saying does seem a lot more reasonable than what some other people have said and I like how you don’t come off as rude as some of them. Thank you for that.
@@AshTheRatKing I don't think that's the case with this specific instance though there very well have been more to the story. There is undoubtedly someone out there that would do exactly that because that's what some people are like. Also, my neighbors growing up fed stray cats that we thought were theirs, but they were there when they moved in and never let them in the house. It's best to not make assumptions. It's not crazy to theorize that the woman who took him in was assumptive. People are judgemental without using logic skills all the dang time. Neighbors cats also sat outside their house acting like they were waiting to be let in (wanted food) and were super friendly. One of the cats had only seen me, but was comfortable enough to let me handle her kittens. You just never know. Everyone thought they were their cats.
OMG I’m not even a cat person but my heart breaks that they could just leave him. They are total a$$holes!! He deserved so much better. So glad they were watching and saw him. I think he’s in such a happier healthier place. Thank you for stepping in and rescuing Rolo!! :)
Thank YOU for being such a nice ‘non cat person’. Some people can be quite aggressive and will unknowingly hurt many who need and rely on certain animals for their mental health. And I fully agree with you. No domesticated animal, be they dog, cat, horse, etc. should be just left like that.
@@Sol_Badguy_GG oh please ? we can do whatever we want to. he/she was just praying and blessing for this person who saved this heart broken cat, are you mad or what?
You can tell she's a good person from the way her voice cracks retelling the story of how he was abandoned and how he waited outside his former home for his owners to come back. Rolo is very lucky that she was watching out for him. I wish them many long happy years together.
I will never, ever understand how anyone can just leave their pet behind. They love you & depend on you. They don't ask for much in return, and we get so much more back in trust & love. Thank you for rescuing Rolo. He's so much better off with you now. Happy life Rolo! 😻
I'm 100% convinced if you just leave your pet like that you never really loved him/her or have a love for animals in general, these people should never have pets again
I can never imagine ditching my precious baby like that. I rather spend all my time to find someone who can take care of her than to leave her with no shelter or anyone to love her The owner didn't give a second thought to their pet. There is no love. They don't deserve pets.
“He’d still look across the street”
That broke my heart.
Yes, makes me want to cry.

How could they abandon such a loyal cat if i was living in that country I'd adopt him instead but I live in the Philippines

I can’t begin to understand people abandoning their pets when they move, even just across state lines. It’s literally the easiest thing to take them with you. I don’t care if I’m moving to the damn moon, I’m getting a little astronaut suit and bringing my cat with me.
even the moon woah man.
So sweet 💓
And also, if you really can’t take care of them, put them up for adoption. Ask neighbors if they want him, and if they don’t, a shelter will take them.
Same!! I've only lived in places that allow animals. If any place says they don't allow my animals they don't need me living there. Thankfully spouse and I live with their dad who owns his house and we have five cats. Any apartments or other rental homes that don't allow pets isn't worth my time...no matter how good the price or if I like the place. I wish more people felt that way and stopped treating their pets like disposable property.
Moon already belongs to cats ,no hoomanz allowed ,says the sign 😂👍

Me too! We got many earthquakes in my country and the only thing that I grab was my dog. I left my husband behind. He can take care of himself 🤣
@NoFvckWasGiven haha I would do the same dogs are loyal
That's because some just don't have a heart
We have earthquakes and wildfires where I live, and my first instinct is to remember where our cat carrier is and check to make sure my cat is within grabbing range. She is coming with me if we have to evacuate, 100%.
Where I live has floods. I asked my mother, “What if there’s a flood? What about the chickens?”
And I love my chickens as much as a dog-lover or a cat-lover, so if there is a flood I’m carrying those fat lil chickens and drag them outside, my family can swim and walk and run and escape xD

Thank you kind soul.
Brilliant
God bless you. Something is very wrong with people who treat their pets like the people in the video. The reason why we so easily become attached to little soft and defenseless creatures (and end up speaking to them like they're babies like the woman in this video did ♥️) is that we have instincts to help us properly care for actual babies. In other words, it's unnatural to dump your "baby" like this. That takes a cold and heartless soul. Ugh.
Well that's a happy ending. :)

@@organisten still no excuse to abandon there pet i understand Peoples lifes can change but at least find your pet a new home dont just abandon it
I don’t understand people who abandon pets.
People who abandon pets should be blacklisted and banned from ever owning pets again.
I think every breeder, shelter and shop should make you do like a basic test about the specific animal you want. That way less fucking garbage people like them might just abandon their family members
This right here
I agree. Pets dont deserve this.
@Juba - يوبا - ⵊⵓⴱⴰ not everyone gets the lingo.
And there should be civil fines. Sadly, people won’t do what is right, so there have to be consequences for bad behavior. It’s especially true in a case like this where they could have taken the cat to a shelter or asked their neighbors if anyone would be interested in taking their cat. It costs you nothing to do that.
God Bless Maria for being there for Rolo, ill never understand how people can just abandon a pet breaks my heart
Exactly what I am thinking too ❤ How can people be so mean. But really glad there are such good people in the world as well
I don’t care how many times your cat scratches you, bites your, or hurts you, you should never leave it on the road to just sit there and wait for you.
A cat being just a cat. Nothing wrong with that. You expect a cat to be more human than you?

@Steve Parker No they are not. This isn't just some stray cat. If it spent its life living in a house and being cared for, it is not a stray so it can't fend for itself. It is super messed up that you think this is okay. A great human being you are! 👏
@Steve Parker Cats have been domesticated for years, I don’t see how they’re meant to be alone.
I used to work as a realtor, and found so many animals abandoned when people moved. It’s so incredibly irresponsible and cruel.
That's horrible. Who does that?!?
@Kim o I don't think anyone would claim on a video sent to a big channel without surely knowing that he is their cat and lived with them for "2 years" and how can you not differentiate stray cat being fed from pet when you see them with your neighbours, literally across the street, for 2 years?
@Kim o uh, bc it's pretty obvious?
@@AshTheRatKing I don't think that's the case with this specific instance though there very well have been more to the story.
