I adopted a Cyclopes, no idea how he lost his eye, he was a stray, now he's a retired housecat and seems to love a life of luxury. His biggest concern now seems to be why his breakfast is 10 minutes late.
I found an old cat hanging around our backyard, but could never convince him to come to me. We put out food and water for him and he continued to hang around. In February it hit -20 and I went out looking for him and finally got him. Brought him inside for the night…he never went outside again except when I took him to the vet to get checked. He was neutered, blind in one eye, and declawed front and back. Obviously a dumped pet since we have no neighbors. Vet said he was about 10-12 years old. For a year he lived the life of luxury and love until kidney disease got him.
i had a stray in my area and randomly walked into my house while i was standing at our open front door and we let him stay. he was kinda dirty but didn’t have any injuries and he warmed up to us FAST. he still wanted to be outside sometimes so i put a breakaway flea collar on him and let him come and go as he pleased. i didn’t let him go outside if it was storming but we didn’t have to worry about cold temperatures. we had a tree fall on our house during a storm and we were forced to move but we weren’t able to take him with us so i hope he’s ok. but i’m convinced that someone else was also caring for him like we were
My mom & I bought a double house on the outskirts of our city that had an unusually high stray and feral cat population. For more than 20 years we have been caring for them, getting them fixed, finding them homes, providing food for the truly frightened ones. It's been a wonderful, if expensive, experience that we wouldn't change for the world. We love each and every one of them. ❤😊
Thank you, but no. We just love them. Funnily enough, the previous owner of our house rescued dogs. Not strays or ferals obvs. It's the house, gives off love vibes to critters of all kinds.❤️
When you guys took him in, he just "let it happen". He probably thought he's going to get eaten and gave up. Poor creature didn't have any idea how beautiful his life was going to be from there.
I think they were wrong. He didnt "Let it happen", she took him by his neck, the place you can grab any other cat, that's his instinct. You shouldn't do it though, you are literally take the cat's options, make him easily to be eating by a predator if that happens again(he will just give up think he will be carried).
I adopted a traumatized cat who lost its owner to COVID and went through some hard times afterward. She was super timid and aggressive but after a few months of careful, patient work she's a little ball of love. I highly recommend rescuing senior cats from shelters.
My brother adopted an adult cat from the shelter, it was going to be put down soon cause it was there for so long and no one adopted him. My brother adopted him and brought him home, and he has made our family so much happier; best decision ever made, and he loves it there
I hate how they always start these videos by going for the back of the head. I rescued a friendly stray by just being friendly to him, keeping my hand below his chin.
I'll admit I probably would have named him Odin due to the eye. He looks almost exactly like my grandmother's old cat Beaker and I'm getting nostalgic. Beaker was abused before she got him and he couldn't meow, only "beak" but he was the snuggliest furball I've ever known.
My brothers cat loves to sit on my lap if she was on my brothers lap and she would see me sitting on the couch she would leave my brother to sit on my lap Edit:thanks for 18 likes that's the most I ever got
When a stray turned up here, it was so forward, boisterous and bashy, I instantly called it Odin... until the evening when my daughter examined it more closely. She's now Odine, with a feminine E!
I have a handsome baby boi who looks just like this! His soft orange intensifies with pets. We call it his blush. His name is Wizzy (short for Wizard).
Losing vision with his last eye so he couldn’t find food and everything became dark so he hid. You guys are so amazing for this, He really needed you guys to save him from pain and fear. We all should strive to be more like them!!! ❤❤❤
Nah it still horrible, where I live u can barely find people like that, But if u look at the good side of it ull see its good but honestly no its not good at all. Take a look at healthline PETA. and ull see how bad it is. Its an organization btw
The world gets better every day, life just 100 years ago was exponentially more difficult and full of suffering. But with time every facet of human existence as a whole improves.
This is heart wrenching. Thank God for people as yourselves. Daily I see so many starving neglected kittens, even grown cats. Right now I'm responsible for 6 cats left to starve. I love each and every one of them. I just can't save them all unfortunately. God bless you.
There's a neighbor five houses down who keeps cats and dogs in horrible conditions, he doesn't spay or neuter any of them and so a bunch of cats keep coming from his house. One of them had kittens under our house and we were able to socialize them, unfortunately Mama was too feral and we ended up doing TNR on her after months of trying to tame her indoors. She seems happy and we see her now and again, at least she won't add any more kittens who will suffer. The two kittens were adopted together and are doing great!
I feed a few as well in the street, fortunately they're hidden and safe, I prefer them to be free out there and having food available honestly, I'd bring them all with me if I could but the freedom they have and never starving is a good feeling for me
@@WobblesandBean I think your neighbor is what rescuers call a hoarder. Not like people with houses full of junk because they can't throw things away, but people who have a compulsion to "collect" animals. You know how some people collect buttons, or string, or basically worthless things like that? These people collect animals. They claim to "love" them, but they keep them in deplorable conditions. Hoarders are adept at making people sympathize with them; they'll beg a judge to let them keep half a dozen animals or so because "I love them so much, please let me keep at least a few." Then the collecting starts all over again. Rescuers have been trying to teach judges about this syndrome, so that they aren't deceived. If I were you, I would talk to a humane society about what to do. They may advise you to report him to the police.
oh god, his little mews when they first captured him had me in tears. i'm so glad he has a home now, and i'm so grateful to all the people trying to do the same for other animals like apollo

I can't imagine how wonderful it must feel after suffering alone for so long to have people take care of you and give you all the love you never got before 😭
I rescued a 1 eyed feral Tom cat. We called him Butterscotch. He lived with us for almost 10 years. He's now resting under a marker in our back yard. He was such a gentle soul. ❤️
Very true statement my friend. However, Feral cats were created by humans from domesticated cats, that were thrown out into the streets by many of these "Forever ASSHOLES" that has NO regards nor respect for any forms of life whatsoever.
@@robertko5425 ... cats are not domesticated. Breed cats are. Cats have coexisted with humans since ancient times. They can survive perfectly well in the wild. Will their life expectancy be the same as a kept cat? No. But the life expectancy of a wild lion will not match that of one in a zoo either. The reason why there are ‘feral’ cats is because they co-exist in out habitat. Like birds, mice, rats, etc.
I couldn't believe Apollo could become so beautiful....your constant care and love has changed him to become a new cat. He looks so handsome now. Thank you for your care and support.
@@gemaskrey7467 Bruh, he still has feelings! Being smart doesn't makes you have better feelings than others, somebody can be a idiot but be kinder hearted than the smartest man in town
I dunno about that... It kinda seems like it was implied he was born in the wild and domesticated. It’s just that, without proper care, the wild is a ruthless place.
I rescued a cat in terrible condition several years ago. After the vet did what she could, I brought her home. For the first year or so she was spooked if you walked up behind her. When she showed up in our neighborhood she was declawed and neutered, so she had been someone's pet. Fast forward 18 months and a friend looked at her and said ' why she's a himalayan kitty!' and we realized that she was. Had her now for 5-6 years and she is a hoot. She plays like a kitten even tho she is 11 or so. Her coat is lovely and she a high maintenance princess, goes to her groomer every 4 weeks to keep her coat beautiful. In the last year, she decided to become a lap cat. She had never sat on us before but suddenly that's where wants to be A LOT. I would never have expected her to be a very attractive cat but she fooled us! Best personality of any cat we have ever had - I see why owners of Himmys will often adopt more of that breed even tho they DO demand a lot of grooming and brushing and bathing - their personalities are so much fun, the high maintenance is well worth it!

It took 3 years for my feral cat Gracie to come around but now that she has I'm her human. Guys I'm a 43 year old man who didn't want an animal especially a feral cat but here I am killing it as a Cat Dad. She sleeps with me every nite and makes muffins on me all day everyday. It's hard to believe that I told my daughter we couldn't keep her at first. What was I thinking? I friggin' love my kitty cat 🐱
My father in law was the same....didnt want the feral cat. But the cat chose him....and they became close. Enjoy Gracie while you can, time is a thief.
What does the phrase “makes muffins on me all day everyday” mean? If something is making a muffin on me, I’m most likely going to be very displeased...

This is why I hate when people hate cats because of how “hateful” they are. Every cat I’ve met for the first time has been so sweet and loving. A cat CAN be hateful, but they usually have their reasons.
Exactly!! And these people also usually have such a huge double standard when it comes to dogs. I’m very indifferent on dogs, but I’m also very terrified of them because they’re EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, especially when compared to a cat. But no, of course it’s a cat that’s hateful and mean because it got mad you touched it where it didn’t like... /s
Omgggg thank you! Im constantly going back and forth with my friends about how they think all cats are mean! If you treat a cat badly or any animal poorly they are not going to be nice. However if you treat any animal with love and compassion they will be nice. Literally common sense. I grew up with cats my whole life and they’ve all been loving and literally just want to cuddle with you all day. I have the videos and pictures to prove it! You can tell people all you want but it’s like they always believe what they believe🙄
I don't think there is another living being on the planet that can equal or surpass a cat's emotional intelligence...once they see you don't want to hurt but help them , they are all in...
I adopted a 1 year old feral female a couple years ago. She had only been at the shelter a couple weeks. I can't even begin to explain the joy it brought me to spend time with her as she gradually came out of her shell. 2 years later, sleeps on my bed with me, gets on my lap for a good scritch session and sometimes I'll watch the birds with her. Now we're both living our best life... together! Big thanks to people like in this video!
Și eu am aceiași experiență. Am luat o pisicuță care trăia pe străzi de mulți ani. Atât de fericită și iubitoare a devenit ... desigur că mai aveam. toate salvate la limită. Iubesc mult animale și mai ales pisicuțele
I love when they said “it’s okay, it’s not your fault.” I always make sure to tell my pets that when they’ve done something like puke or have an accident (if I catch them intentionally peeing/marking that’s a different story), because even if I’m mad and they’ve just made my life very hard I still love them.
@TK Clarke When my precious darling cat was a kitten she'd do that too, chewing off headphone chargers, chords and a whole dang fleece blanket was suckled on so much she ate the whole thing. Instead of getting angry I sang the old Destiny's Child bootylicious but with lyrics regarding little Channi and her naughty behaviour.
Poor little guy; look at him dragging his tail in fear. Several years ago, my dad told me there was a white baby possum in the backyard, so I set a trap. Turned out to be a white kitten, which as she got older, developed into a gorgeous fawn point Tonkinese, with ice-blue eyes. It took me months to figure out what she was, as the breed was still so new (then). At the time, I could only find two in town that were papered. Someone lost a VERY expensive kitten! This guy turned out to be a handsome flame point!
“Very expensive kitten” It’s horrible when people put a price on a living being. Slavery is disgusting. Speciesism is disgusting. One life isn’t worth more than another. To any being their life is precious.

He’s beautiful. We used to feed a stray that kept coming to our house. He’d eat then go off, and we’d see him strolling up the street. We called him Bruiser as he looked like a street brawler, filthy and unkempt. After he began getting regular meals from us he tidied himself up. He turned out to be a beautiful tabby. My friend said she had a stray cat came round that she named Teddy. One day whilst visiting her, the stray arrived. I said ‘Bruiser’ as she said ‘Teddy’. We laughed so hard! My husband decided to call him Teddy Bruiservelt! And no we are not American we’re British!
I knew somebody with an adopted cat like this, he was maybe as much scar tissue as he was cat, and the rest was muscle that might as well have been corded steel, *BEEFY* little dude. I remember him mostly being standoffish except with a few people who he just kind of arbitrarily decided were ok. I was happy to be one of them, the first time I came over he just sorta hopped in my lap and gave me one of his short little 'mowf' sounds. It was weird to pet him because of the scar tissue having a fucky texture under the fur, but he was still a little champ.
That happened to me also. I thought the cat was mine. Found out he had 3 different family’s he lived with. We all thought he was our cat. He was a big Tom cot. He fooled us all.
@@tobysus6569 No, they don't - no more than kittens do when their mother cat is carrying them. They instinctively go limp, and that is all. Besides, it was the best option available here.

@@gory6747 yeah, it doesn't hurt much as adults but it does stress them out, but at the very least it's much better than grabbing them by the tail/legs.
@@ginpak7037 I think it's both. Animals and humans are equally important. To add to that, God created us humans to take good care of nature especially animals.
Constantly getting caught up in the trials and tribulations of everyday life you often forget that people like them exist, but I'm glad they do. Not just for the benefit of animals, but for us all.
A tattoo on her right hand says "me". I bet her left hand says "ow" so it says "meow" when hands are next to eachother. She does not seem like someone who is at all a "me" person.
I rescued a feral cat once. That boy had a damn hole in the middle of his eye. Veterinarian wanted to stitch it up. I decided against it. I knew about the regenerative capabilities of cats. We waited and watched, if it would get any worse. Luckily, it didn't. Instead, it healed. The wound in the eye became smaller and smaller until it was gone. All that was left behind, was a small, whitish scar. I imagine what would be if we would've stitched it up. He would be running around with one perfectly healthy eye behind a stitched-up eyelid. This is no advice. I can imagine that a wounded eye could also kill your kitty. But always keep an eye on your options and make wise decisions for your animal.
With animals and with humans, the body wants to heal itself and it has that ability. Doctors know a lot, but there is a lot that the body can do that doctors can't. Countless animals and people over time have gone insane and died because they assumed doctors knew more about their bodies than they did. I'm not an anti-vaxxer which I felt like it seems I'm implying, but I'm not. Sometimes the best medicine is to trust in the way God made you.
I feel as if it's a game of percentages, they give you the best one but sometimes you can get lucky with another option, though hindsight is the only way to truly know and sometimes it's better not to risk it
@@jeremywhistler2850 This is such a harmful mentality. Doctors *do* know about your body more than you do, that is their job and what they were trained for. We're imperfect, fragile beings, and so are most animals. We don't have some mystical ability to regenerate.
I work at a cat shelter and i know how heartbreaking it is to see cats like this brought in. But after they get treatments, food, water and a warm place go sleep, they can start to warm up to trust. But with patience, a kind heart, and the willingness to put time into it, you can gain a cats trust. I’ve made it possible for many feral cats to go out for adoption and know that they can trust humans. It can take anywhere from a week to 4 months to gain a feral cats trust, but once its there, they are such loving furballs :3
Thank you for working at a cat shelter and helping this beautiful, divine, loving, soul creatures who depend on us for their well-being. Yes, you are doing God's work. God Bless 🙏💕🕉️
Me too. And even if I could, I'm allergic to most animals, ESPECIALLY cats. I can barely have my dog and I definitely have a lot less allergy issues when I'm away from dogs but, I just can't help myself
This makes me feel so sad because when i was a kid there was a feral cat that would come to our house and i wanted to help him so bad but my mother locked the door when he came and wouldn't let me help bcs he looked infected. His fur was awful and half of it looked like it was ripped and was full of diseases. It's more devastating to know its probably dead by now since there were a lot of dogs and it wasn't a baby. I wish i could go back and help him.
You can always help another cat. It won't fix everything but it can honor that cats memory. You can donate to animal rescue programs or just go to the closest feral colony near you. In the USA at least, there are feral cats in basically every neighborhood nationwide. You can trap the ferals, get them spayed/neutered at clinics, get them their shots, and let the ones that can't be tamed back out to live their lives where they're most comfortable. I've been doing this for a few months now and it's a great feeling knowing you're helping these cats to bring less of each other into the world to struggle to survive and are also protecting them from diseases.
my mom never lets me help foster pets. she says that if you feed them they will follow you everywhere and gain trust with you. i don't care. we all should help everyone who needs :(
❤️ I'm so sorry. That's really sad. My sister and I had a cat, this giant orange tabby, follow us home from our field when we were kids(it had been abandoned by someone and left to live as a barn cat) but clearly really loved people and had a home before. The farmer came to pick her up a couple of times and then said, to hell with it. You keep her. So that's what we did. What was really sad was that she was such a cuddly cat being left to live in a barn. 😥 We theorized that her previous human must have been an elderly lady who passed away because she would sit on our piano bench or couch for literally hours at a time to listen to someone playing and singing.
@@caterinabrilli8812 I can understand your mom feeling that way, it's a fact that if you feed a cat, the City that you live in will say that it's now your cat. You must take care of it, you must pay for the vet bills, the licencing fees, etc. The animal rescue places are not willing to take in these cats, they will only put them down and it costs money. That's the reality. But, if you want to help, there are ways, and it really is worthwhile and rewarding. I once rescued a feral cat that us neighbours had fed for about six years. He got very sick, my neighbours said he'd never make a good pet. I did have to spend a lot of money on him, but he gave me so much love. There's always a price to pay when you're trying to help an animal, or another person. But I think it's worthwhile myself!

I have a 21 year old blind cat I've had since I was 8 years old. She became blind over the last 3 years and I have found it so rewarding to love and care for her during this time. She is still so spunky and genuinely has more energy and playfulness to her than our other cats who are 7 and 9. There is something so special about realizing that you become like their "tour-guide" for the rest of their life.
Cats are underrated. They always say only dogs get attached to people. That's not true at all. I was always more of a dog person - but with my three cats I had and now have during my lifetime I have to say; I'm just an animal person 💁🏽♀️ My Mina could not be any sweeter and loving and attached than she is after I got her from the shelter (she picked me). She was rescued out of a animal Hoarding situation and very aggressive and scared. With me she was the sweetest gentlest girl from second one. I don't know why. She saw me and badly (!) wanted me to take her with me. She was never like that in the shelter before to anyone. She just knew. I was her human. We are inseparable and I love her so much it hurts. Cats are very underrated. They are sensitive and loving. They feel everything around them so intense. And they act aggressive when they're scared. They're NOT unpredictable. They are just living beings 😊
Took me over a year of feeding her to befriend my feral cat. She lived 5 years outside by herself. Once I could pick her up I put her in a kennel & straight to my vet to get spade. Pick her up from vet put her in a unused bedroom went in to visit & play with her 5 times a day for a few weeks then let her out. Slowly she came upstairs. She’s lived in my house with me now a bit over 2 years. Best cat I’ve ever had. She’s a bit on the needy side for a cat but I love her & she loves me. Time & patients worked. So feral cats do make great house cats. She’s now 7 years old & never goes outside. So anyone says you can’t tame a feral cat or feral cats don’t make good house cats are full of bull crap. So glad you took this poor sick feral cat in. I’m sure if you choose to keep him he to will make a great house cat.

He didnt "Let it happen", she took him by his neck, the place you can grab any other cat, that's his instinct.

All living things have the ability to regenerate! We all have stem cells that are quite possibly the most intelligent cells of the body. Activate!
So glad he’s healthy
YOUR BOSS IS GOD,THANK YOU,KEEP IT LIT......FOREVER
Thank you 😭🙏😍
Thank you for working at a cat shelter and helping this beautiful, divine, loving, soul creatures who depend on us for their well-being. Yes, you are doing God's work. God Bless 🙏💕🕉️
I too have rescued ferrals & others who were owned & kicked out. Soo sad for me to see them.
thank you for the wonderful and important things you do for our animal friends 😺🦋☮❤
I swear so many cats are in a heartwrenching condition. I can't handle the feeling of wanting to help them but knowing I can't.
I'm the same way.
start with one, rain starts with a drop
@@fauxhound5061 these words are so simple but hit so hard...
BROO I CAN RELATE YOU😢
Me too. And even if I could, I'm allergic to most animals, ESPECIALLY cats. I can barely have my dog and I definitely have a lot less allergy issues when I'm away from dogs but, I just can't help myself
I feel happy seeing people like you thanks God, 🙏 we pray may your tribe increase...
My brother has a one eyes cat named Hephaestus, she's a cutie.
Edit- They also call her little hideout "The Forge"
What’s up with the Greek gods names, I love them so much!
@@ericlee3940 Yeah as a greek is sound so weirdest to me. Plus you call the names quite differently than they are in Greek😂
lol it would probably be like doing tongue twisters every time you want to call them over
I could actually see why he named her Hephaestus lol
@@ericlee3940 sounds kinda mean tho because Hephaestus was known to be ugly
I've been doing this for a few months now and it's a great feeling knowing you're helping these cats to bring less of each other into the world to struggle to survive and are also protecting them from diseases.
my mom never lets me help foster pets. she says that if you feed them they will follow you everywhere and gain trust with you. i don't care. we all should help everyone who needs :(
it`s ok, you where a kid and you had the good intention! You can`t save everything.
It’s so kind heartedwhen people help strey. Kitten grown cat godbless you all for helping through 🐈
Thank you for your kindness!
I’m a big guy and I honestly don’t shed tears easily for anything at all. But this here actually had me running water fountains.
This was so emotionally sad but with an amazing turn of events. I’m so happily relieved they took him in otherwise I’d feel the need to adopt him myself poor guy. So happy now thank you for this video dodo god bless your beautiful souls 🙏🏾
I am a cat guy, this hits right in the feels. Perfect people found him so he can have a normal life now.
Great punny name and a cat lover. As a Poirot fan I salute you sir.
@@elizabethalderman8749 Thank you. I love cats, puns and working my gray cells:)
Sevmek böyle bir şey. İyi günde kötü günde kedinize sahib cıkmışsınız kediniz cok şanslı sizin gibi bir sahibi olduğu için. 👏🥇👏
You are a good person ❤
Thank you 🙏

Cats are underrated. They always say only dogs get attached to people. That's not true at all. I was always more of a dog person - but with my three cats I had and now have during my lifetime I have to say; I'm just an animal person 💁🏽♀️
My Mina could not be any sweeter and loving and attached than she is after I got her from the shelter (she picked me).
They are just living beings 😊
yes! Cats are very underrated and get so much unnecessary hate.
I was a dog person for 15 years, and then... A CAT!
Cats are precious.
@@davidx4120 Let's just agree that animals in general are awesome 😍
Cats were worshipped. How are they underrated?
He almost looks like a different cat now. So good of you for showing kindness to this little creature. I hope he lives happily every after❣️
Took me over a year of feeding her to befriend my feral cat.
You're so right. Ppl don't want to take the time to turn these cats around. It's hard, but rewarding work.
think he's only needy 'coz he just wants to make your day better after work... or a stressful situation. our pets are quite empathically intelligent.
I've had mine for like 4 years and she only started trusting us like last year
No wonder it took them so long. You immediately took them to get their nuts chopped...
@@TheSCPStudio Considering they said "spayed" (well, they said "spade" but really meant *spayed*) it's a female cat. In which case there are no nuts. However, I liked your joke and still got a laugh.
Wow, it is so awesome how much love you are giving this sweet baby, thank you for saving him 💖
