I usually do bum for opening and push to close. Some are so tough though aren't they. 😀

Great vlog guys would say stuff the Fisher men boaters were there first pull sign up they fish lock landing and next to the boats bar that great vlog

*Morena Liz, Paul & Ernie 🙂 Well Liz you got your muscles working again doing all them locks. 🙂 PAUL, Make that STEP for Liz ASAP. 🙂 I guess all the sloppy & muddy walkways was the after effects from all the snow melting... and just left it all slushy like 🙂 Mind you it also looks like some dirt could be brought in to fill up all them dips & holes on the pathway. 🙂 Poor Ernie should have been wearing his 'gumboot's, cos he was trying to miss the puddles... yet most dogs love to jump into the puddles to get all dirty aye Ernie 🙂The drone shots are fabulous as it really shows the countryside, that so many miss when they are driving.... and you both get to see it all from a different prospective. 🙂nz*
Hi Andrea. Snow, don't mention snow...we are gutted that we haven't really seen any snow yet since living on the boat. We keep missing it, it's been everywhere but never where we are 🤣 so the muddy tow paths in the vlog are purely from all the rain we've been having, it's been on stop. Ernie will jump a puddle rather than walk through it 🤣 his boots are not very good when it's thick mud as they tend to just get stuck in it and they get pulled off. I'm waiting to get more practise with the drone but whenever I have a day it's either raining or too windy but hopefully I'll be able to really enjoy it soon when the weather improves. Hope you're keeping well 😄

Well we are getting a good summer finally... got a great tan going... not that it takes much with having olive skin... I always thought it was against CRT rules to fish oposite boats? Good for you two for helping those boaters, when you look back 12 months to your first cruise to the winding hole the difference in both of you is amazing :) Told you months ago you'll meet amazing people on the canals. I was looking back on photos yesterday on our first cruise, you can pick up the nerves we felt even in the photo. It's amazing how far we've come..don't get me wrong we aren't pros and we continue to learn everyday but also our confidence with boatlife grows everyday too. Thank you so much for the coffees. We do really appreciate it and we love the fact that you've been with us for our journey and continue to follow us every week. ♥️

Hi Jane and Martin, no the same editing software but I don't usually put photos in vlogs so seeing as this one had a few I added the transitions. It's funny because I have a software but don't use half of its features as you kind of get into a habit of doing things the same. Hope you're both well 😀
Hey Captain Ernie, surprised that you did not administer 6 lashes with your dog o 9 tails, to your ships carpenter since he did not make that step for your first mate.
Paul and Liz I noticed something in this video and that is how much vibration goes through the tiller extension. Give some consideration to buying a couple of pairs of antivibration gloves. You should be able to pick these up from Screw Fix or B&Q. The reason I mention this is over time you might end up with joint problems in your hands, wrists etc. due to the vibrations.
Always love the shots you guys get with the drone.

Having worked with chainsaws and my partner with brush saws we know the side effects of continuous vibrations. One other thing, Liz, that will prevent possible injury to your Achilles tendon, put your backside against the lock gate beam and then walk backwards. You guys are great@@uponreflection

cant paul use a old cordless drill and make a windlass to help with turning the paddles for you ? this time next year you could be millonares !!
This time next year Rodders🤣 it's not the paddles that are hard work it's the closing and opening of the gates, sometimes they are so tough even with the full weight of my bum on them, they still won't budge 🤣

You could have got diesel and water at Springhaven marina
Yes we did nearly get diesel but there was another boat already double moored so we didn't bother as we weren't desperate for it but water, I didn't know they did water too. Good to know for future. 😀
Hi guys, can Ernie get up onto roofbed by himself now?
Hi there, no he can't get up on the roof, he puts his paws on the gas locker indicating when he wants to go up there, which is pretty much all the time so he can see while cruising. May have to get him a little shade in the summer months though as it'll be too hot up there for him 😃
Love it ! Which way you going at Fazely ? Yesterday we did Hatton & Lapworth flight over 40 locks 😢 in gas street basin at the mo heading back out tomorrow heading for Fazely , farmers locks in the morning then away
Wow, over 40 locks that just sounds terrifying. I need a rest just reading about them 🤣 we heading towards fradley on to trent and mersey and eventually going to go Shropshire Union 😃
