Everything I’ve bought for the radio install: Radio: Sony DSX-A415BT Front Speakers: Sony XS-R1646 6.5” Rear Speakers: Sony XS-R4646 4x6” The little cubbyhole that will go in place of your CD player (if vehicle is equipped), speaker harness’, radio harness adapter, and Antenna Adapter all are Metra brand. I bought this and the radio from Crutchfield, just put your vehicle year and model and it’ll give you everything you need. I bought the speakers separately from Walmart. As for the Metra stuff, you can search it up on Amazon with the year of the truck.
When installing a radio keep in mind if you start adding stuff you might need to upgrade your alternator. These older trucks take 85,100,105 amp alternator. Napa sells alternator brand new 160 amp alternator. If you start adding light bars and other lighting along with amps and speakers don’t over look the alternator. Try to buy a new alternator and not a reman. Remans come with shortlives and issues
I went through similar with a pioneer setup in a early 94 Chevy Silverado extended cab short bed z71, but I am probably going to change the rear speakers again I don't really care for them, but I got it with those in it and judging by what I found when I checked the front one's I need to pull them anyway. I had one not working until it was louder volume and you hit a bump then it would work fine til the next bump, that's because one the wires were cut,two wrapped in clear packaging tape and three the metal edge of one side of the speaker opening sticks out more so you're supposed to put the side with the terminals on the speaker in the opposite direction, hence why my speaker was messing up it was grounding out on the dash, glad my windshield doesn't leak lol..
Great video, just got all my stuff from crutchfield as well for a 97 gmc 2500. I was hoping you did the component speakers in the front, as I got 5 1/4 components, I’m hoping everything fits in nicely in the doors, the rear speakers are going to be a nightmare, but I’ll take my time. Also in the 618 area
Helped my little sister install speakers in her 98 gmc today. She got JBL 6.5 component speakers. Had to take most of the plastic pieces off the new JBL tweeters so it was the smallest it could be. I used a Dremel to carve off plastic to fit the new tweeters in the old tweeters spot this also ensured that grate would fit back over the new tweeters. Used foam tape around the circumference of the tweeter so it doesn't rattle against plastic and used JB weld to adhere it in place as I did not have speaker adapter rings for tweeters and did not have much room to drill holes for screws. The big speakers in the bottom of the door went in much easier and to get them put in place all I had to do was drill holes.

I was gonna get that exact setup but a one of my dad friends gave me 2 6x9 with 2 round kicker speakers for $50 brand new and I’ll soon have it all installed 💪
Hey bro do you know the part number for the radio harness? I really wanna get one that’s already spliced so I don’t have to screw it up 3 times before I get it right😂
@@isaacromandia6548 I got a kenwood staro and the other day I bought some subwoofers and I'm currently working on a custom center console/sub box ps. My name is also isaac
Bass is decent. Honestly, I went a little cheaper on the speakers. So if you want more punch, I’d suggest a different speaker. A Sub will really bring out the bass.
i personally think the original radio with casette player is alot better than the B.S radios they make today we got a 1999 chevy c/k1500 that still got the original radio with casette player truck only got 190,000 miles on it
@@SouthernIllinoisBowhunting awesome man! gonna do the same thing next weekend to my 97 Silverado, your video is definitely gonna help me with the process!
The best thing to do is to carefully break the connector off the shit factory speaker. Then solder leads from the new speakers into the factory speaker connector so you can plug it into the factory plug hanging at the hole.

nice job on your first install. Use the metal shielding to lock the radio into place by pushing the tabs up. Makes it unable to slide out.
Thank you!

i just installed the BOSS Audio Systems BE10ACP-C in my 93 k150 and its really nice for the price!
Awesome! I’m thinking I’m going to upgrade the speakers once more. Going with Kickers with a sub. It’s not punchy enough for me as is.
I was gonna get that exact setup but a one of my dad friends gave me 2 6x9 with 2 round kicker speakers for $50 brand new and I’ll soon have it all installed 💪
Heck yeah! That’ll sound nice!
Joliet! ‘94 k1500! Much needed can corner repair should be on my next agenda😅
Where can I find the rear speaker wire harness so I don’t have to splice anything crutchfield only has it for the front speakers
Nice!!!
And the holder for the stereo
Holder came from Crutchfield as well. You can search up the din you need on Amazon.

What about all the screws and shit it comes with? Im having a hard time figuring out where all that goes
Do you have a number or a name or anything for that harness I’m trying to find it and I’ve searched crutchfield and I can’t find it!
Good job.
Where did you get that bag of clips to replaced the broken one on your door panel
Amazon. Just search up the year of your truck and it should pop up.
What size speaker is the front
6.5
Did you add a subwoofer?
I just bought a 1998 Chevrolet 1500 and I need to do a stario swap this helped a bit thank you
No problem. Glad I could help!
What did you purchase for a full set up? I also have a 98
@@isaacromandia6548 I got a kenwood staro and the other day I bought some subwoofers and I'm currently working on a custom center console/sub box ps. My name is also isaac
What did you do with the radio you took out? I need it, I've got so many cassettes and mine bummed out
I got rid of it not too long after this install. Sorry bud.
All good buddy, enjoy the ride
I have a green 95 just like yours. Nice tutorial.
How much did this all cost just wondering as I’m doing mine
How's the sound quality
Really good actually! Definitely worth it
I see this was your first time putting in a radio. Still great job. Keep up the work.
Thank you!
How did you get the front speakers on I have the same one and are to small for my truck it’s a 98 Chevy Silverado extended cab
Can you list everything you bought in the comments?
I pinned a comment on what I bought
How is the bass with this setup? I plan to do the same with those exact speakers in my truck?

What’s the speaker harness part number?
Fronts are 72-4568 from Metra. I don’t know about rears. Couldn’t find any part numbers for those since I got the wrong ones.

I put a Pinned comment on what I bought.
All that work to install 2 crappy 4x6 sony speakers in the back. More power to you
Looks like a whole day ordeal
great job man! how is it holding up?
Great! Love the radio! It’s so much nicer now with a new unit. Definitely worth it.
@@SouthernIllinoisBowhunting awesome man! gonna do the same thing next weekend to my 97 Silverado, your video is definitely gonna help me with the process!
Glad I could help in some way!
I got a question man, how did you splice your rear speakers?
The speakers come with wires to hook up to the speaker itself. Just look up what the colors are on your year of truck and match it up.
The best thing to do is to carefully break the connector off the shit factory speaker. Then solder leads from the new speakers into the factory speaker connector so you can plug it into the factory plug hanging at the hole.
😎😎💎💎🤔🤔
Im sure you found out the sony speakers are trash asf
