I almost had the same thing happen to a server I started for ATM 3. Turns out, there was over 1000 abyssalcraft zombies clogging caves under my base that weren't despawning because they picked up drops from other hostile mobs they killed. The shift+f3 pie chart is super helpful for figuring out what's causing the lag.
Dang that honestly sucks. This was definitely a really cool series and it’s sad to see it go but that’s what happens and I guess we’ll have to live with that. Real excited for whatever is planned for the future.

First time i see your stuff, but i can recommend the modpack Encrypted. Its a simulated reality modpack using a lot of similar mods to all the mods 8 but on 1.18 Minecraft. I am having a very fun experience so far
So sad to hear that I've been playing RAD2 (Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons 2) and it has been an enormopus upgrade since RAD 1, it is super fun to play and also has a ton of quests super entertaining to do
Highly recommend trying out the insanecraft modpack developed by ssundee and spark universe. It’s a very well developed pack that ends in you getting the infinity gauntlet from marvel :D
welp that's sad but atleast the series didn't just vanish like some others, hopefully one day darkness won't be troubled by mod incompatabilities and poor fps

I’ve just started an ATM8 playthrough, and I was wondering - which mods are the most likely culprits for all this poor reliability, so that I can avoid touching them without a ten-foot pole when at all possible? (Side note: has the Lord of Darkness considered becoming the Lord of the Abyssal Deep as well? Between this video and “Not Working as Intended,” I expect the ocean would be a welcoming environment for your just and righteous salt. Oh, and unlike normal darkness, the only things in the ocean with too many legs are crabs!)
I think I can fix this world. I have a feeling that an update caused the data fixer to wipe important metadata for every dimension except the overworld, important metadata that tells the game these dimensions exist and how they should generate.

Me has found that AMD in general (and especially) gpu's, especially especially in the past, have had problems with modded MC. Back in 1.12-1.16 you could barely run a modpack without it crashing unless you had vanillafix in it.
@@Official_Rz yeah I can imagine. My hardware is like 4-5 years old and I had always problems with frames etc but since using these commands everything runs smoothly. Even different modpacks po3, e2e, atm8 all imrpved since then. I felt a little stupid for not figuring it out earlier lol

ATM having literally ALL the mods are quite unstable. Do You have any new modpack in sight yet? I personally started playing Stacia Expert and can recommend it to You with a clear conscience. It starts a bit grindy, but recipes are balanced to make You progress through many mods simultaneously. Greetings from the dark side!
Have you tried just removing the level.dat and level.dat_old (after taking backups of course!) ? So dont delete the dimension files but well, I guess your actual world data?

i play atm8 on my i9 10900k with 64gb 3200 ram and 3080ti suprim X. i have only 12 crush wheels and 18 steam engines. my FPS is 20 in 4k :/. So sad :( .
Yeah, lots of newer mods in 1.18.2+ are much more unoptimized because they haven't had the time to develop well with other mods like 1.7.10 or 1.12.2 did. They had years each as the most popular modded versions. Even 1.16.2 was the main modded version for a while, but at the moment, the mod versions are jumping (MC) updates so quickly that they only update their own mods to work in that version and don't have time to config/patch compatibility with other mods. At least me thinks that is one of the biggest reasons.
Average ATM experience in a nutshell. Laggy, buggy, raw piece of "modpack" (just a bunch of mods lumped together with default zscripts they use in every other ATM). 0 performance tweaks, 0 hours of play test and 0 care about their fans. P.s. This is hate is not towards Lash btw, I just hate the way ATM team does things
@@lewiskellett5654 10-12 or even 16GB for good performance, is 40-50 USD for a stable server with all the good options. Maybe he could make it with one running an 8GB set-up but SSD cost is also a thing, premium options, world backups, auto-updates, etc.

you should start putting your packs onto a server, it will solve alot of the FPS issues
Only problem is that a server for a pack like ATM8 or some of the heavier packs he plays, is 40-50USD a month, which is quite a lot.
