Adding Vintage Charm with Doilies and Lace | Air Dry Clay Trinket Dishes | Doily Pillow Pocket

- Today, I’m sharing several easy, sweet and shabby chic projects using doilies and lace! There’s nothing quite like them when it comes to adding vintage charm to your crafting projects.
~ First, we will use a small doily and Elmer’s glue with water to create a little bowl or basket. I used a rubber band to secure it to a Oui yogurt jar and let it dry. Then I stitched ribbon all along the edge so it would retain its cute little shape. Adorable!
~ Next, we will take a doily and DAS clay to create beautifully embellished dishes, just perfect for holding your jewelry. I love the texture the doily adds to the clay. So vintage looking!
~ Now I’m using a pillow I had on hand and stitching a doily across the front to form the sweetest little pocket! Next, we add lace, hand-stamped ribbon, and fringed trim. Finally, I show you how to make rolled roses and a tassel using the hem of an old drop cloth and flour sack cloth. So shabby chic!
~ For our last project, I’m using flour sack cloth, lace, and beaded trim to add vintage charm to a nightlight shade. It’s the perfect touch to my guest bathroom!

I’ve been missing your videos and was so happy to find this one today. Everything is just beautiful, but that pillow and night light are my favs. TFS your photos of you and your mom. What a special way to display them. They are just precious. I miss my mom every day too. My family is from the East coast but one of my sisters moved to TN several years ago. She’s raising chickens and has a huge garden and just loves it there!

I love your crafts! I’ve always loved Shabby Chic. My craft room is Shabby Chic style. I’m currently working on organizing it. Been looking for storage solutions. I don’t have a lot of wall space. Supplies took over. lol So I thought some pretty storage would be great. You have great ideas for that! Well hello Becky welcome back gosh that doily over the jar brought back alot of memories haven't made any in a while used to make doilies with curved ends the only way they would stay ruffled is heavy starch or sugared water you did that with glue and water and I thought it was so cool thank you for the memories!!!God Bless you!!!❤️

I just love watching you create your projects. They always turn out so beautiful and I learn something new each time.. and I’ve been crafting a very long time. I learned how to used the small doilies around the jar from my mother, but she used “starch”and the doilies/scarfs were very stiff. Using the doilies on the clay “fantastic”. The pocket on the pillow OML, “ outstanding” idea. But that night light had to be my favorite. It looks so vintage and shabby. Please post the exact name of the night light. I LOVE the pictures of you and your mother. I went to those mother/daughter banquets with my mom when I was a child,too. Thank you for bringing to mind fond memories- you are so blessed to have such photos…and a lovely mother,of course.
