    You're a lifesaver! I've been having such trouble since Adobe went to a subscription model, and 5.5 was the last time I bought the CS.

    Thank you so much. I've had illustrator for many years and been discouraged trying to learn it. Your lessons are teaching me so much that I feel confident making my own work now.

      I’m so happy to hear that. I’ve got a lot of videos here so hopefully they will help you get started with Illustrator because it really is an amazing program. Best of luck with your learning.

    How can I tie this in with creating a pattern for Spoonflower? Your other video was using CS6 Pattern Maker which I of course do not have. Not sure what I would export. The 750 pixel area?

    • @HelenBradley
      @HelenBradley  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. You can now go to the Spoonflower video and start at the point where I drag the swatch out of the swatches panel. You'll see that I crop the image so that only the content inside the no fill no stroke rectangle shows. You will do this for your pattern. There's nothing different about your pattern having made it by hand rather than using the pattern make tool at that stage. I hope this helps. Let me know if you still have difficulties.

      My head is swimming... so after making my pattern following this video, I can jump to minute marker 4:05 in the Spoonflower video and start there? I have never used that Fit to Artboard so I hope that CS5 has that option. Thank you for responding so quickly

      Yes. That is exactly right!

      Oh GOD!! FINALLY, Helen, I did it!!!!!!!! WhoHoo! Had some issues because the elements I had on the top left, wanted to be sent to the bottom. So in other words, whatever you have on top, even if it's the corner, have to be the same on the bottom.
      I was designing something different on the bottom, and Illustrator wasn't having any of that :-)
      Seems it uploaded just fine.
      Hallelujah, Happy Days! Now, to learn how to design for sites like RedBubble. Hope the procedure isn't that different
