I have this bucket sitting in the shed for two years! Never used it! Good to see your video. AN inspiration to try it out finally!

I bought the same bucket for my 2025 last year, it works really great.

Damm! That looks like almost EXACTLY like the soil where I live! South TX close to Corpus Christi. Just got the trenching bucket and ripper with the quick connect intending to redo my sewer drainage field.

Perhaps a rock bar, chisel point on one end & diamond point on other, might be added to your tool box. The ones I have are about 76” long; they were sized for my Dad-he was 6’tall. Not as tall, but I still use them occasionally. I have also heard them called San Angelo bars. Used live in Leander,,, familiar with the soil type. 😀
Really enjoying your channel! New subscriber. Keep up the good work!

thanks. I recently added a massive 3500W demolition jack hammer to my toolbox. well, it came in its own toolbox 🙂. should have bought one years ago. it makes quick work of the Limestone. I still won't dig out the foundation of my house with it but for a trench here and there it is awesome.

I saw how clean your tractor was and thought, "he doesn't seem to even use it...". then saw you spraying it off at the end. Then I thought, " oh he just really cares for his equipment". Kudos to your diligence. And sorry for the soil. Haha.

I just ordered the BX 6 inch bucket for my 1025r. See what happens when I get it.

Easier to trench if you aim the bucket teeth in the direction the trench will go, then using the dipper cylinder, start to pull the soil only curling the bucket at the very end.
If simply digging a hole for a post, then just curling is better. Bur fir trenching, pull then curl.

Enjoyed the video! I live about 30 minutes from there and went dove hunting in Hutto when I was a kid...I have the same rock dirt where I live north of Austin. You are lucky you don't have the black dirt (a little north of you) that has cracks that go down 3-4 feet when it dries. Be nice to the roadrunners they love to kill snakes :) This entire area was originally all German so you should feel right at home (I'm part Pfluger aka Pflugerville!).

thank you for your comment. I exactly know what you are talking about, I trenched about 100ft for a waterline for a friend over in Plfugerville and he has this thick, hard and super-sticky black dirt. Hard to trench, hard to get out of the bucket and hard to get back into the trench for backfilling. I think SpaceX can use this stuff as a protective coating for the Starship :-)

A lot easier to do at waist high. It’s not that heavy. Just a thought. I have that trencher bucket. Nice but the dirt sticks in the bucket a lot. Pain at times but you just have to deal with that. Good luck.

:-) we live pretty much on top of a huge limestone ledge. makes it hard to dig but on the plus side, even in the heaviest of all rains, flooding is not an issue and my house sits on a super-solid foundation.
