At Rock Hill Farm and Homes we upload new videos at least 3 times per week, about our 20 Acre hobby farm, our John Deere 2038R compact tractor and other equipment, and the businesses that we run.
These businesses include a manufacturing operation, a Christmas tree farm, real estate investing, a lawn care business, and an online retail store. I demonstrate how I am able to use these ventures to earn a good living without a traditional job.
We have some cool toys and always think outside the box on our little homestead so come along for the ride.
You can expect new videos from us every other day, usually around 8 AM.

Always fascinating to see the various attachments and how they are used.
Thanks for watching
Well, that went well. I use a ripper on my 3 point to do the same thing, but it's a lot more tedious and you have to move the tractor to get the work done. The ripper on the backhoe seems to be much faster and way more agile. I believe it would excel in close quarters where it's hard to maneuver a tractor. Great video, Brock!
Yeah, I look forward to trying it in some other situations.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video. I ordered my Bxpanded ripper for my tractor last week. Cannot wait to get it. I've been digging up stumps with my backhoe and it takes forever and makes a mess.
Definitely a handy attachment
@@RockhillfarmYT Great news. I ordered my ripper on 5/4 and it shipped today 5/11.
Great Video Brock, Like a knife through butter...Lol
Yes sir
Really seems to do the job with less disruption of the surrounding area. Will be interesting to see how it does with larger stumps.
Agreed
Thanks for watching
Now I really want one! 👍
Worked well
Thanks for watching
Just ordered the 6 inch bucket the ripper and the quick attach. I'll see what happens when I get them.if you want some more big stumps? I have a bunch of ash stumps. Like you I have tried burning digging and even tried to just cover them up. So far digging them out seems to work the best. Time consuming makes a big mess but kind of fun at the same time.
Cool. I’ve been happy with mine
I was skeptical. Good job!
I can’t say for sure until I do it but I think it’s going to be even more impressive on a bigger stump
Thanks for watching
That attachment on a mini excavator would have been even more impressive.
As well as these worked before I’m curious to see how much better they are now with your hydros turned up! 💪😁
I used it yesterday and I’ll be showing it in the next couple days
I never pulled stumps without a ripper. Was just trained to always use one. Tried with a stump bucket and backhoe a weeks ago and found out why the ripper has been around so long.
Great vid.
I love your videos, what state do u live in?I would like to learn from you..thank you
We are in Kansas
Thanks for watching
Easy peasy.
Yes sir
Come on over , iv just cut down all my ash , lots of stumps to practice on 🤪
Right
Be careful on larger roots, bent mine shortly after buying it.
You bent the ripper? Seems impossible with the limited force my backhoe has.
Yep. They can be bent. Mine is installed on a 2019 2032R with the same 270B Backhoe you have. No indication it was over stressed till I lifted it out of the ground.
Thanks for sharing
That looks like it was a easy process.
Yes sir
I have 60 ft plus laurel oaks to remove. Searching for a Cat 420 E ripper that is common sense designed, a hardened sharpened edge. Researching again. Probably at least 50 of them. Being alive and full height leverage will help to drop it over. The 3’ wide bucket bucks the roots and digs giant holes away from the base. Ripper is the answer.

Like your video company doesn't make it for my jd 67 backhoe
So when are you going to buy an Excavator!!! Seems to me that's the next logical piece for your arsenal!!!
I definitely want one but I need the skid steer to pay for itself.
Tomorrow is the first serious job I’m taking it on.

Bulldozer is ideal to stump with 👍👍
Yes
The military and cops should use one of these when they need to interrogate terrorists . Not that they will get any more info but the bad guys deserve it.

First I am impressed. Secondly I think this would work great at separating the soil from the root ball. Scratching at it with the teeth of the bucket works but this would be awesome. I may need to look at this attachment again!
Thanks for watching

I believe you are onto something here Brock. You sure made short order on removing those stumps. Looked to be way easier.
Thanks for watching
It works well for ripping out stumps, I bet you will find other uses for it as well.
That is the Plan
Thanks for watching
I think AWESOME is an understatement!
Thanks for watching
That worked great.
I was happy with it. Look forward to trying it on a bigger stump
We bought a frost ripper (different brand)last month and it is my new favorite attachment! I have used it to rip roots to push over trees, sink post holes, and deep-plow the veggie plot. I haven’t even used it for what we originally got it for yet: trenching in 500’ of water line for irrigation - that project will be in a couple weeks.
Had a ripper custom made for my l 39 hoe , it was a beast ( for some stupid reason sold it ) probably was like 180 pounds, no teeth but a “ knife edge “ got some massive stumps out with it , prob was couldn’t pic them up , only 39 hp , had to push them away
Can you split wood with this set up?
Not very well. I tried it in this video:
Will a Tractor Backhoe Split Firewood

We got eyes. Quit talking and do it.
I do this for a living. I’ve made 1100 videos and noticed all the patterns. If I talk less people don’t watch.
When I saw you got that ripper, I wasn’t sure it’s something that would ever get used… but wow! This video really changed my mind! Niiiiice Brock!!!!
I really think it will be handy on some bigger stumps. Thanks for watching
Watch that cylinder, keep it in as much as you can while pulling. I have seen lots of pics and posts on bent cylinders.

Great video Brock had to laugh though it was the type of video wheee you cheer on and think you are helping by doing so that ripper tooth works great
