*It's great caught caught a brown trout on the first cast. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend if it was a little smaller it would be more effective for different species*
I just got started, got my microwave for $15 at a second chance building store. Glass measuring cups at thrift store for $1 each! Check the really cheap places before Walmart if you can! You’d be surprised
I'm with your buddy. My setup is cheap as all get out. But that's intentional as I only make a few baits in very specific colors that I know catch fish in my area. My "go to" baits that I use every single time I'm on the water. Like my microwave I got at a yard sale for $10. Also got pyrex cups at a yard sale for $1 each. I also started with those cheap "stone" molds. They got the job done, and fish are stupid, so don't over think trying to make a bait look as pretty as possible. It's like that old crankbait in your box that's missing almost all it's paint, but flat out catches fish.
I started with open pour because it felt like everyone was doing injection. One of your videos had mentioned to find something to “set yourself apart”…so I figured, why not start with what later I found out to be the most challenging!!! 🤣 Love the videos & appreciate all the info!!
When I first started making plastics there were very little TH-cam videos explaining how to do it in depth. I’m jealous of the people who are just starting and have you to guide them
Yes sir injoyed the video learn something new every time I watch I started with one mold doing remelts now I got 10 to 12 molds and I am hooked on bait making Thanks Chris keep the videos coming
This is a great video. Being in Florida myself i use a lot of lures since we can fish year round here. Haven't started making my own lures but your videos want me to start it.
Thanks to Chris and Happy Jack for this video!!! I haven't looked, but, does Angling AI and/or Dead On have beginner kits available? May help some of us who want to make the leap to bait making, but have no clue what molds, etc would be best. Say, maybe a bass bait kit and a different one for pan fish. Just wishful thinking! Again, thanks guys for an enjoyable, informative video!! 🐟🐟🐟
Cool we all start off small but to get where you want all it takes is money💰🤑to advance the addiction the More you do the more want to do but it is fun and very addictive cheers Chris happy jack thanks again👍
Hey man I love your videos I'm actually trying to get into making baits myself. You and Marling baits should try and do a collaboration maybe some kind of half hard bait half soft plastic type deal
With the knowledge you have now. What would be your top3 molds to start out with. Also would you choose by sales that you have had or by what you like to throw?
Thanks for the great video! I'm watching because I need to decide if it's really worth the expense to get started making just a couple of very basic soft baits. I looked at the AI website, and those molds are cost prohibitive. All I want to do at first is make a single color of something similar to a zoom swimmin' super fluke. The price in the stores is criminally insane, so I've had to resort to using whatever I can find at reasonable prices, even though they're not my "confidence" bait. Any recommendations as to a way to get going for a reasonable price would be appreciated! (I do have a ton of lead pouring molds/equipment, so some of that will be used if I go ahead with soft baits)
im up to $150 with the dead on plastic, a few colors, pearls, and a scent, plus 3 cheap pour molds from etsy, and some eyes. already have a table, just need a microwave, and some gloves.
I’ve seen you put freshly made baits in water, then I’ve seen some being hung up in other videos. Is there a benefit to soaking them for 5-15 min versus hanging them without soaking?
It's a dangerous rabbit hole. Bare bones is a gateway to lots more cost to come. I have promised myself that I'm not buying any pre made plastics ever again to offset the price if I live and fish to 110 years old.
Correct me if I’m wrong, “The only reason to do this is you’re a tournament angler and you wanna make colors the fish have never seen.” Because it’s so expensive and time intensive and you’re not allowed to fish live bait.
he could tell me what's going on because I started making rubber bands and I get sticky, all the details do not come out as they should and I don't know what to do anymore
Oh yea, I have more worms, senkos, craws, mop flies, punch bugs, bee moth maggots , crickets, in all my local colors, than I will ever use That was in the first month So welcome Happy Jack!,Welcome!
Yeah tell us what everything costs except for the mold which is the whole reason why I came to watch this video cuz I thought I'd be getting some actual prices here. Who gives a s*** about a microwave i already have one of those and I also have a table, in fact I have two tables and I also have measuring cups. and I'm pretty sure everyone watching this has those things too. I guess our definition of a starting setup is a little different my mind is starting set up Abby the molds and the Plastics you need not a sticking table in a microwave which every person in America has one of those in their home
Hello, I'm from Vietnam. I don't understand the ingredients and tools to make a soft prey...can you give me specific instructions...thank you for reading the review. Hey...if it's okay, can I add you as a friend on Facebook?
I have an idea and I don’t know if you’ve done this already or not😂, but do you think I’d be possible to match a gummy worm, into a trick worm? 🪱 And great video too!
Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for making useful and informative videos
@@tannerrubach3998 you bet
Great video and Happy Jack's worms look great!!
Thanks again Chris :).
Good for Happy Jack. I’m loving that worm mold.
You were brutally honest with that drum roll .....Thanks for sharing
Yeah he's not much of a drummer but that's okay
I started 3 weeks ago and the 3rd week I bought every thing Dead On has and got a few new molds from AI molds. Thanks to you .
Awesome
He's gone to swim baits and I still like the stuff that catches fish 🤣
Hehe

Yes sir it is looking to up gradrade to aluminum hand pore molds and injection is my next step thanks again
You should make a video showing exactly what you need to get started and where to purchase everything from a list that you provide. Love your videos.
Because of your videos I’m gonna take up a new hobby thanks

That's cool that you got to visit the warehouse
Hey, looked like my shop when I first started! Got to start somewhere! Nice video!
We all start with one little table
7:26 how many worms you want
Him: All of them. LOL

@@WorldsWorstFishing and i am trying to get this mold. I am at $75
Lovin that strawberry color.
It's a good pigment
@@WorldsWorstFishingyea it is. I’d love to get some and see how it does here on my side of Florida.
WOOHOOOOO THELMA!! lol thanks for the vid Chris. Reminds me of starting off....kinda still am haha!
Aren't we all
Great vid!
Look at all those f150s 😂 I give it to happy jack, he’s got a collection going on. He knows what works!
He's a truck hoarder ha
I remember my first set up was a kit from eBay and a few molds and injectors from eBay and a cheap microwave from Walmart with a cost of 450 dollars
Hey man I love your videos I'm actually trying to get into making baits myself. You and Marling baits should try and do a collaboration maybe some kind of half hard bait half soft plastic type deal
Those swimbait are awesome
🙏🙏
Love the content keep it up.
Appreciate it
Chris, what is the actual elapsed time between injection and de-mold?
Just a minute or two
With the knowledge you have now. What would be your top3 molds to start out with. Also would you choose by sales that you have had or by what you like to throw?

always good to get back to basics do you have any of your first baits still around and if so are you game to show them
I think one of my friends still has some of the very originals
Can you use silicone molds and do you need releaser and is there anything special about the metal flakes
im up to $150 with the dead on plastic, a few colors, pearls, and a scent, plus 3 cheap pour molds from etsy, and some eyes. already have a table, just need a microwave, and some gloves.
Would you recommend starting with open pour molds before jumping in with injection baits? Thanks for doing a vid like this.
I would recommend injection to start with it is much much easier
Do you use all mondo injectors
Great vid…as usual. Question, what’s in the spray bottles in the basket? Is it something we need to have on hand? Thanks!
Bang spray
What about the roan on the wall under his veranda
Wow
I’ve seen you put freshly made baits in water, then I’ve seen some being hung up in other videos. Is there a benefit to soaking them for 5-15 min versus hanging them without soaking?
Chris how much is your baits cost I have been trying to find out how much it cost for the baits
I would like to start my own bait company. Do you know of a good place to get custom bait bags?
Can you link the molds, resins and flakes you used please sir?
Can you use an oven to cook soft plastics?
How many worms do you want? happy jack all of them lmao🤣🤣🤣🤣 that is some shit I would say 🤣
Haha
Get micro wave oven at good will $5, hobby lobby for glitter that is better then what they advertise for plastic, pirix cup at Walmart!
How long do you wait before you "crack" the mold open after injecting??
Minute or two
It's a dangerous rabbit hole. Bare bones is a gateway to lots more cost to come. I have promised myself that I'm not buying any pre made plastics ever again to offset the price if I live and fish to 110 years old.

Is that a none bleed strawberry
Because it is from MF it probably bleeds a little bit
Hi
he could tell me what's going on because I started making rubber bands and I get sticky, all the details do not come out as they should and I don't know what to do anymore
A smidge because why not t shirt!!
I'm remelting worms and it seams that plastic cools to fast
Pronghorn
That color should be called simple bug🤣🤣
😜
Where did you get the speed worm mold?
Angling Ai molds
Me looking at the last $200 in my bank account...
Why putting water after injecting
Sets them up quickly
Oh yea, I have more worms, senkos, craws, mop flies, punch bugs, bee moth maggots , crickets, in all my local colors, than I will ever use
That was in the first month
So welcome Happy Jack!,Welcome!
Right on
molds alone are $500, this can become a very expensive hobby
The 607 mold is $500...but not many are priced like that
@@WorldsWorstFishing I was trying to guess how much for all the molds shown, 4 x $100+. Im still intrested but looking at open pour

I think they suggest getting a different microwave for soft plastics, so you aren't cooking food where you are melting chemicals.
Is he really going to mix and pour extremely hot plastic while wearing shorts?
We do it pretty often...better to wear pants and always closed shoes us best
