Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

Chris, my name is Shawn, and I just watched this video, and it is my very first video, I have ever watched of yours! I watch a ton of videos, tutorials and DIY Videos, and I want to tell you , that it was HANDS DOWN, the Best, and most thorough tutorial videos I have ever watched on YOU TUBE Period! You speak well, and not too fast, and make the visitors that are watching feel at ease, and want to hear more, and you held my attention, and interest, till the very end! I was looking for a video that could teach me, ( Without having to watch a ton of BONEHEADS that have no business on here) attempting to even try to do a so called tutorial, and the 2 seconds I happen to watch of theirs, before I keep looking to find AMAZING Tutorials as yours, are them trying to rip off actual great guys, like yourself, which is totally obvious! LOL! I love the snare drum roll, on one of your molds, at the beginning of the video, by the way! Ha Ha, that was great, and another reason, I kept watching! My first love is music, from COUNTRY to ROCK , and when I’m not looking for a new hobby, or small business, I am a professional Vocalist, Drummer,(That’s why, I loved the drum roll, Lol) guitar player, song writer, and producer. So I’ve had my fair share of videos on You Tube, as well. Lately ,I have been Cowriting and singing, with my great friend, which so happens to be the Bass player for the Iconic National Country band, “LONE STAR”, as far as Country goes, and recently ( BEFORE THE BIG QUARANTINE ) I was out on a tour as Lead singer for Jake E.Lee, who, used to be the guitar player for “Ozzy Osbourne”, and Anthony Esposito bass player for “Lynch Mob”, in Jakes new band, “RED DRAGON CARTEL”. I grew up in Fairfax County Va, moved to Los Angeles Ca. For almost 30 years, and now I’m back in Fairfax Va. Back to one of my son and I’s favorite passions and sport,........ FISHING of course! Chris, I sure hope you are still reading this, and that I have kept your interest, cause I am also a sculptor and mold master, in Silicone, and resin molds and I want to design and sculpt some crazy cool soft plastic lures, that will be Amazing! In 2009, I decided to make a guitar pedal that NO ONE had ever done before! I was told by many famous guitar players, that it would never sell. Not only, did it sell, it won pedal of the year, best new product, and I won Best booth at the NAMM Music Convention. Chris, it would be a blast to collaborate, on some lures and or, if you need resin, or silicone molds made, I’d be more than honored, to help out! After watching this video, I am soooo pumped and inspired to sculpt up some CRAZY NEW LURES! Thank you for the inspiration, HAPPY FISHING!!!!

I forgot to properly mix my plastisol after it sat for months. I didn't clue in as to why the baits came out slightly firmer than snot until I noticed the 6 cm of solids in the bottom of the jug. Took a whole bottle of hardener to firm up the batch. A valuable lesson learned.

I sat threw the whole video. Nice job! Very informative. I shoot some baits only for myself and some buddies to use and I’m love to learn new stuff. Try this, when you do your hand pours use the smallest Pyrex cup that you can get. Helps with controlling the flow. That works wonders for me. 👍

You inspired me indirectly to sell molds / lures as well! This is one area where I immediately thought we could pay off the CNC machine, it easily carves into aluminum. Design was the more difficult part but thanks to Fiverr, the drawings coming into CAD was very easy. Feeds and speeds wasnt bad. Aluminum supplier was the challenging part due to specific sizes but buying in bulk equates to whole sale pricing with near free cuts. Next step is selling internationally, mainly in North America. I think a much lower price point will equate to better sales over absurd prices I've seen everyone else selling for. Anyways, I wanted to thank you for your videos.. hopefully with the skyrocketing sales in kayak fishing and outdoor sports in general - 2021 will be a great year!

    Man... this reminds me...
I had a toy when I was a kid called the Creepy Crawlers maker. Basically, it was a gross-out EZ Bake Oven where you'd pour some colored gunk into a metal tray and then stick the tray in an "oven" powered by some light bulbs, which would dry out the gunk and turn it into a rubbery insect looking thing.
Grubs, spiders, ants, dragon flies... name the bug, they probably had a mold for it.
Which kinda makes me wonder... has anyone ever tried using creepy crawlers as baits? They weren't made for fishing, and they'd probably have little to no action... you'd probably have to texas rig them or something... but I bet fish would still hit on the bright colors and insectoid shapes.

depending on the bait, for open pours more often, the "Flashing" actually adds to the bait in dimensions i never thought of before, like i can pinch the flashing to make small ribbon tails off the body which i'd never get before. Like for my custom worms i did, i've been getting more fish with flashing on the sides and just messing with it randomly. Gives the fish something new to look at.

Great video. As a fisherman that's environmentally conscious, I'm looking for materials that are safe and biodegradable. Any alternatives to plastisol?

Saved this video for last .. lol. Great video Chris very informative. I love your bloodline mold (funny your colors are superior to the pics on AAI website). Do you have any other mold with a hook slot. I love split bellies as they offer more rigging options. I've altered most of my silicone hand molds adding a slot to them.
Wanted to say thanks again for re-sparking my interest one opening my eyes to more possibilities and variations.

On your hand pour molds, should try taking a flat object and scrapping the top of the mold after pouring. Will give you a flush top and make trim ups a lot easier and quicker.

I agree with your comment on why cnc moulds are expensive with the level of detail and consistency. But from my knowledge on the line I'm here to tell ya that once they get a beautiful finial product via the cad software and or Gcode its just copy and paste from there. And our machine times are no where close to what they were 5 years ago. Morale of the story is you're paying a pretty penny for a chunk of aluminum and that's that. The code is already written up and saved to an archive. They only write the extensive detailed code once. Much like how an artist spends weeks carving and designing a stamp once it's done it only takes moments to create prints (or copies). Cant justify that price for a block of aluminum and some thread holes tapped.

Fantastic. I’m in Tasmania and love fishing. I have been looking at lure making for a while, this is far the best instructions I’ve seen. Now all I need to do is start looking for local suppliers? Thank you.
