Great video bud very good explanation. Only thing is u shouldn’t put cold Coolant or water through a hot engine wait for it too cool down before refilling but good video 👍
Hi i have a bravo II. In service manual it is stated that only PARAFLU should be used as engine coolant. I couldn't see on that bottles sticker. Did you used PARAFLU or regular g11-12 engine coolant? Btw good video
Cold coolant into a hot engine can cause the head to crack and warp. I would also not put the cap back on while flushing as you are only putting an air lock back inside the system.
@@Telstar_1 The coolant system is pressurized to get a higher boiling boiling temperature, which you don't reach when the cap is closed. It is safe to start the engine when the cap is off and keep it off, the coolant just boils at a lower temperature. Obviously it's not sage to drive the car with the cap off. It's important to have the cap off because, while the new coolant circulates, you can top it up till the level you want, when it's warm. What is not good is to remove the cap when the engine is warm, because the coolant is pressurized and it could spill out and burn your hands (in fact this video doesn't show a safe process, in my opinion). Since no steam comes out from the expansion tank when he opens it and when he opens the radiator valve, I think he let the system cool down, which is the right thing to do before changing the coolant in the system. In general there some tool that help during the process, like "coolant burp funnels", you can find them online.
You hawe a bleder valve on a top right side of a radiator, for the bleding the air,if yours engine is a 1.4 8v and 1.4 16v, anyway nice traying, greatings from Croatia sory for my english.
Thanks for the video. Did you open the drain plug with hot engine and thus hot coolant?? In this way you can get a lot of coolant out because the thermostat will be open en will let the coolant from the engine. But it looks a bit dangerous to open the drain plug with hot coolant??
