Been going through the entire PS3 back catalog and watching a ton of vids about lost gems, most under-rated PS3 games. I really want to say that your video is one of the best lists and most well put together video on the subject. A+
Solid list! I always enjoy your commentary. Although I played my fair share of PS3 titles, it's so refreshing to see there are still games I have not experienced. I only played the first two from this list. And by the way... I actually started replaying Shadows of the Damned two days ago and I'm pleasantly surprised by how well it holds up. I'll definitely roll credits on it.

Wow... your hidden gem videos are next level mate, really strong. There are games here like Majin, Eternal Sonata, Azuras Wrath that were just way ahead of their time. I feel if they were released today as new titles they would get a lot more praise. Thanks for bringing them to our attention again and keep on with what you are doing, making great content 😃👍🏻
All these games value are on the rise lately, I'm glad I have 8 out of 10 in my collection. Puppeteer and Eternal Sonata are the ones I still don't own.
Yeah the good ones always seem to hold or increase their value. Puppeteer probably won’t climb too much higher than it is now but I can see Eternal Sonata continuing to climb until someone puts it on more modern consoles
A selection of genuinely visually beautiful games. I would say they fall out of the category of something I would like to play but I would definitely enjoy watching someone stream these games and enjoy them that way. Great selection and cool vid!!!! 😊
Thanks Polygon Don, I love your PS3 stuff, it's brilliant. I've bought most of your recommendations and I've never been disappointed. Keep up the fantastic work sir👍

Wait a minute, I just realized something. Majin and the forsaken Kingdom, a fantasy version of the bond between 2 characters as the story progresses. Enslaved Odyssey to the West is essentially the same thing, but with a post apocalyptic setting. Finally, you have the most notorious example in The Last of Us which is a survival horror version of this same concept. How interesting, 3 games with the very same throughline that just exists in different genres. It almost seemingly lessens the importance of what the Naughty Dog was able accomplish when TLOU initially released
Fantastic list as always. Some of those games I already have at home on my backlog, others I planned to get and the remaining ones I now plan to get thanks to you. However, only one I already completed and that's of course Asura's Wrath. What a batshit insane game that was. I loved every second of it.
That would be amazing! I’d take anything tbh, would just like to know that it’s still on Capcom’s mind and not completely forgotten about. Probably a pipe dream though 😂
@@thepolygondon9198 What sold me on your list was Eternal Sonata. I finished it for the first time a couple weeks ago on PS3. My only gripe was the historical cutscenes. I'm lucky to have all of these! I haven't finished them all though. I bought them either new, or when they were dirt cheap. I never sell my games and try to grab games whenever they catch my attention. It usually ends up being a good choice in the end.

Looking back at the 720p generation, I have to say, the TV manufacturers... kinda screwed up. :P See, optimally you want to display a game in its native resolution. It was some sort of cost-cutting measure. Going from 1024x768 to 1366x768 displays was cheaper for them than making 1280x720 displays. And so, those TVs didn't give us the full potential of 720p. Oh well. My Life in Gaming did a video on native 720p wall projectors and, yeah, PS3/X360 games look sharper on them than they did on the HD Ready TVs.

@@thepolygondon9198 Shattered Dimensions PS3 cost me about £15 ages ago. Played it, really enjoyed it. Brilliant art styles. Checked the price now and it's megabucks. The price of physical media has been going crazy since the coof psy op. eg Lollipop Chainsaw, Asura's Wrath, Shadows of the Damned, Ratchet and Clank's, Alice Madness Returns etc so much so that it is tempting to jailbreak a PS3 allegedly! Managed to gather a semi decent PS3 stash of games (300+) throughout the years. Just made sure that the games I bought were to play. May end up coming to the dark side of the PC master rays once I finally upgrade my ancient pc! Waiting on the second gen Intel Arc GPU's. I’m a collector, have thousands of games, and I’m gonna be brutally honest, I never touch my old games since I have hundreds upon hundreds that are still factory sealed that I want to play. Yeah, I’ll pop in RE 1 every now and then around Halloween, but that’s the only one. Oh, and Maniac Mansion...... And Doom 2....... Oh, every few years I replay Under a Killing Moon...... And then there’s my friends and my yearly Goldeneye get together...... Oh yeah, almost forgot Super Mario World that I have a few games going on my Switch, 3DS and SNES mini that I play with my daughters....... Shit....... maybe I’m wrong................ Shadow of the Colossus........... *sigh*.......... Maybe that’s why I have so many unopened games........

As an ex MMORPG WoW player & boardgamer - hobbies that robbed me of the 6th, 7th & 8th gen experiences I'm now looking to discover - I've taken my ps3 collection😊 up from 20 - 25 games to about a hundred, plus even the unfinished ones I had I'm playing today. I have finished the first 2 Bioshocks, AC II, Mickey Mouse: Castle Of Illusion & A Plague Tale: Innocence (8th) in the past 3-4 months, even while dabbling into every game I've recently got, even for just an hour, even with a newborn baby in May. Assumptions are just that, and even with a strong PC I ain't touching anything 9th gen before I get all the 6/10 and above rated titles I want and all the cool exclusives for this special console, and sometime in my lifetime, playing through them 😊
You’re definitely not alone in thinking that, I know a few people that really didn’t vibe with that game, personally I loved it and thought it was charming as hell. Different strokes for different folks I guess 😬
They’re all listed as chapters in the video and are in the video description but here they are again… 10 - Puppeteer 09 - Shadows of the Damned 08 - 3D Dot Game Heroes 07 - Lollipop Chainsaw 06 - Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom 05 - Alice: Madness Returns 04 - Folklore 03 - El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron 02 - Eternal Sonata 01 - Asura’s Wrath
There does tend to be a stock of 50 or so games from this generation that show up over and over again in all general hidden gem videos. They just fit into that mold so nicely and do truly deserve more attention at the end of the day. But finding the 1 or 2 truly deep cut gems that each list really has is the fun part. I mean, I haven't seen Majin mentioned by a channel in over 10 years!!

Solid suggestions, nice one. A few of those I’ve already talked about on the channel and a couple of them I’m working on at the moment weirdly enough. Shattered Dimensions I’ve wanted for a long time but can never find it at a price that’s palatable 😂
Love console gaming however when playing Hitman games, keyboard and mouse is the way to go. Try throwing a coin in Blood Money / HITMAN 2016 via a controller - spoiler alert its BROKEN!
ps forgot to mention the masterful *OKAMI* game!
pps I'm a sad basket as I have *NEVER* bought a digital game. Because you're only renting or leasing a game when it's digital.
Keep up the great work sir!
Good video
Nice one, thanks for watching
PS3 until I die 😂
Hello, can you say the tittles of the games in the intro? Thanks
The don dada!
Love Alice Madness Returns !!!
Soooo good isn’t it!!
Come on..... I hate when people say they “still play all these games today” or, as you put it, “revisit them often”.... No you don’t......
😂😂😂 that was a journey! I know what you mean and there aren’t many but I do genuinely revisit these. Sometimes just to play along with someone else who hasn’t played them before
@@thepolygondon9198 Haha..... Great list by the way, and thanks for reminding me about Eternal Sonata. It’s the only game from this list that I don’t have since I’m not a big turn-based JRPG fan, but I always thought that one looked interesting (and it’s still fairly cheap!!)
Assumptions are just that, and even with a strong PC I ain't touching anything 9th gen before I get all the 6/10 and above rated titles I want and all the cool exclusives for this special console, and sometime in my lifetime, playing through them 😊
Proper londoner
Sometimes I regret I sold 3d dot heroes but tbh.... It's really not that fun!
You’re definitely not alone in thinking that, I know a few people that really didn’t vibe with that game, personally I loved it and thought it was charming as hell. Different strokes for different folks I guess 😬
Can u list the hidden os3 games in the comment section
They’re all listed as chapters in the video and are in the video description but here they are again…
10 - Puppeteer
09 - Shadows of the Damned
08 - 3D Dot Game Heroes

06 - Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom
05 - Alice: Madness Returns
04 - Folklore
03 - El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron
02 - Eternal Sonata

Anomalous Hedges - The Mini Vandals
The polygon dong

Well damn= got em all
Nice! 👌🏼
I keep seeing the same games. Lol.
Yeah, they’re the heavy hitters I guess
There does tend to be a stock of 50 or so games from this generation that show up over and over again in all general hidden gem videos. They just fit into that mold so nicely and do truly deserve more attention at the end of the day. But finding the 1 or 2 truly deep cut gems that each list really has is the fun part.
I mean, I haven't seen Majin mentioned by a channel in over 10 years!!
Wow. The same PS3 list of every TH-camr since 1948 responsible for these prices to skyrocket. Well added. -.-
Wtf is this😂
