  • I found the battered remains of an Action Force Z-Force Armoured Troop carrier in a charity shop and it needed a fair amount of work to get it in a displayable state. And today is the day we do just that. Lots of cleaning, paint removal, repairs and replacement parts are needed to get this unique toy back up and running.

    Looks great! Matt Paul at Kraken Kreations is awesome. I owe it to him for sending me most of my uk collection. Here in the States, you never find any Action Force figures or vehicles. He was the first friend I made in the collecting community on your side of the pond and he is a top notch guy!

    Looks like the infamous "P" had either siblings or friends with the same vehicle and didn't want them getting mixed up! Great video TP!!

    This Action Force carrier is a long dream of mine to eventually get for my GI Joe collection. I love how it was modified for the Action Force toyline to be more of a mobile play headquarters. The GI Joe one is a plain vehicle, but holds more action figures due to the non changed sections.
    Great video. Love seeing worn toys restored, but not always perfect.

    I just picked up the GI Joe version at a thrift store for 3.99. Inside it had a motorcycle, 16 Gi Joe file cards, and was 99% complete only missing the turret, which I patiently waited for months to get at a reasonable price, and now I've got the whole thing. The APC looks much less intersting than your version, but holds a LOT more figures. NICE.

    These are my favorite videos! I'm really surprised that a child did a comparatively good job customizing it with all that paint. You usually don't see so readily what they were going for when kids paint stuff.

    I have the GI JOE version of this Troop Transport. The turret gun is completely different looking--no missiles and no aerial on top.
    For once, most of your toy fixes weren't super challenging, but rather required some scrubbing, and some minor construction! You sure improved this toy a lot--especially adding that third set of wheels to it. Nicely done!

    There I was, about to finally go to sleep, but I guess now I'm gonna watch Dave clean up and rebuild a vintage toy that I have no personal connection to at all instead 😂
    On a more serious note, Dave, your channel has become one of my favorites on YT by far. It's interesting and relaxing seeing you work your magic (and as I once wrote under another video, often reminds me of how my father fixed my toys) and the way you present it is in the best way reminiscent of "creative & educational" kids' shows from my childhood. A new Toy Polloi video always brightens up the moodiest day. I hope you never run out of broken toys to fix.

    nice work. the folks who restore the large stamped metal vehicle toys (tonka, etc.) put their axles into the chuck of a drill and run the sandpaper up and down the axle while the drill is spinning. you can also use the drill method with a bench top grinder with a wire wheel attachment spinning in the opposite direction for more aggressive de-rusting. for the custom windscreen shields, you could attach them with a dab of silicon sealant, so they can be removed in the future

    Hmm. I find especially with metalic paints that brushing it with 99c isopropyl turns it back into paint, and I can just take it off with a Q-tip. The brake fluid looks like it's getting underneat the paint layer and breaking the adhesion which is pretty cool.

    After cleaning do you ever use Armor-All to condition the plastic? I find it helps restore some of the more caustic effects that cleaning solutions can cause and makes them look great.

    If the seats don't fit Action Force figures properly, it isn't because they're made for GI Joe figures. Palitoy made an all-new interior for the rear area of this vehicle. The seats for the GI Joe version were different.

    Have you ever tried magic erasers they do a great job at getting paint off of plastic and can be reused with no chemicals needed

    • @toypolloi
      @toypolloi  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have. They are great for small scuffs of paint. But will not make any difference on large areas like this. If you scrub to much with them they scratch the surface of the plastic. So you need to be careful. Cheers

    These are always great but this is of particular interest as Ive still got it and its fine. let me guess the main things that break are the catches on the side. Apart from my bloody dad letting my sister play with my action force and my bloody sister breaking gung ho's groin ??? ( that doesnt sound right) my acton force are pretty intact.

    Regarding the break fluid, will it also remove the "factory paint" from the toys, eg the black belt on vintage Luke Skywalker Bspin, or will it just remove paint that is equally to, lets say, Tip-Ex? 🙂

    • @toypolloi
      @toypolloi  9 หลายเดือนก่อน
