Tool is my favorite. Have seen them live like 4 times. I started listening to their inspiration, Crimson King. That G# makes such a difference, almost an eastern vibe.
This was a great video, thank you. That line sounded great on your 6 string. I was wondering if you plan on doing any how to 6 string videos? Thanks again.
@@OnlineBassCourses Nothing really specific just a good way to approach playing the 6 string bass or how to incorporate the low B and the high C into bass lines. Basically a video that shows us how to play the 6 string bass and not play it like a 4 string with the occasional low note or high note. I’m sure whatever you have planned will be eye opening and helpful like all of your videos. Thank you.
Sounds Indian. I played around with tritone before, but putting that #4 in D dorian is interesting. Think I'll go put a few songs into this D dorian with #4, Over the Rainbow would be a good start. Great video, thanks. Though I rather play b3 with my pinky and crab walk up to the 6 and not do the stretch between b3 and #4.
Hi Dan ... Tried to download PDF's but site "detected suspicious activity" I have no idea what that means and why it is not allowing the download of PDF exercises.
Does this just work over minor based chords, or would you also use it over major type chords as well? I'm figuring it's something to use over minor chords/keys, but maybe if you base it off the 3rd of a major chord it will fit in that scenario as well. Don't have my instruments with me rn or I'd just try it haha. Great video as always!
Thanks! Well, if you can make it sound good over any particular chord, then go for it. However, if you create a chord from this mode, it’s a minor seventh chord. So it works well over that chord although there are other options. Over this D drone in the lesson, there are loads of options! I’ll do a lesson on that coming up.
Why not? You can play F wherever you want if it fits with what you’re playing and how you’re playing it. Some techniques and lines work better in some regions of the neck than others. It’s often down to personal preference.
Never watched a Dan video that didn’t teach me something.
Legend 😎
Love how almost all your lessons have pdf’s that go with it. Really helpful, thanks
hello Dan ! Great ! thanx !!
🙏
Thanks Dan. This #4 is a great sound I need to learn so much more...
Thank' Dan 🤗
Really fun lesson, Dan!! Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!

Definitely. I’m really just starting to get into them and especially Justin Chancellor’s playing and tone.
Seems like it is close to a phyrigian dominant
Got a very middle eastern vibe, love it.
That #4 has a little bit of a spooky feel, but that perfect 5th tempers it nicely.
That’s an excellent way of putting it!
Great lesson. I have used that #4 a lot sounds very Arabian. Thanks Dan.😊

Thanks, Jack. Let me know what you would want to see. I do have a video planned.

I like that mod to the scale. Will play around with that 👍
Have fun!

Laughed at you calling it an evil interval 😂 5:03
It is a bit evil! 😂
Eastern feel so cool

That’s weird. Do you use a VPN or anti virus software? Could you email me a screenshot? dan@onlinebasscourses.com. I can also send you the PDF. 🙏
Almost has an Egyptian vibe to it
any dream theater. awesome band.

a #4th....is a Blues note......
Yes. The same as a b5.
Why play the F down the fret board?
