Make sure you first try holding the power and volume up button down until a power off sign appears. If that does not work, quickly press volume up then volume down until phone restarts.

But I followed your instructions and was able to access my phone again! I was told my apple that there was nothing I could do besides a software update or restore which would risk losing anything I did not back up- which was about 5 months worth of photos and videos, which was in fact my baby's entire life! SO AGAIN- THANK YOU SO MUCH!
