DFU takes a few tries before it actually works *hint* wait for the screen to completely turn black before letting go of the power button and it should most definitely work. This was a great video and a really great alternative of the recovery mode, not a bot. Yes this does work!

Thank you, this worked for me (Sept 2024) - completed reset of iPhone 15 refused to work keeps crashing but the DFU worked then was able to reset to factory.
I'm still freaking out I've tried it all my screen always goes back to the cord being plugged into computer nothing else I don't want to lose all my stuff

What if you have a PC? I notice your connecting to a Mac in the video. I went to login to one of my ID's on the phone got into changing my password but instead it put me in Account Recovery. Apple says they can't get my account out of this and I have to wait now for two weeks to fix the password on my ID. This is bullshit and whoever thought of this Account Recovery instead of allowing you to enter a new password should be canned.

No matter what, I follow exactly the steps explained but it doesn't enter DFU mode at all. Maybe this was change in iOS 18?
