  • Based on actual sources and expert analysis, #Bisbo recreates the final moments of what went technically wrong with the #Boeing737Max 800 planes. Understand how flight sensors misread the crucial AoA or angle of attack triggering off a new unknown software update called the MCAS, leading to the two fatal crashes of Ethiopian Airways flight 302 and the Lion Air JT610 of 2018 and how Boeing and the FAA tried to play the incidents. Make sure to hear the limerick at the end.

    Don't forget to watch Bisbo's Limerick at the end of each video, that neatly sums up the topic.
    Passengers in the Max 800 met an unfortunate end
    Incomplete training is not something Boeing can defend
    To the market they rushed
    Many lives did they crush
    And for that Boeing will have to make amends

    I don't feel it is right to make sensationalism out of a tragedy. Real people lost lives.
    There are inaccuracies in the video. The AoA is rarely used by commercial pilots. Only trained military pilots like to use it. It's a secondary indication not all agree should be on primary display competing for pilot attention. That's why some companies demanded it, most others prefer not to. Not a price or economy problem.
    There is an established procedure to deal with "Runaway stabilizer". It is a memory item that all pilots have to know by memory and apply by reflex if something strange happens. It was so in previous iterations of the B737, hence pilots were trained for it.
    As we rely more and more in automation, once something goes wrong, there is a kind of surprise that retards complete awareness of what is happening and what should be done.
    One crew at Lion Air had a third pilot on a jump seat that immediately pointed to the correct procedure and they landed safely.
    The crew did the procedure, and flew manually. They even "canceled" emergency and avoided returning what is not common practice as I heard.
    The next crew on the same plane did not have the same luck.
    Boeing and FAA issued an AD (Airworthiness Directive) stressing what was known from the accident and how to deal with such problems with the old established procedure.
    Ethiopian ET302 probably knew that, and partially applied the procedure. Investigation is underway and we have only preliminary results.
    One failed component should not down an airplane. There are complex interactions of humans, computers, the plane and it's environment that must me studied, lessons learned so as to avoid other events both with this planes and others.

    for some reason they didn’t grounded or took away the flying certificate from the max after the first crash

      the 737-800 has an impeccable record and is one of the safest planes on the skies, And now people will probably confuse it with the 737 Max. Its all Boeing's fault though, they rushed to make a plane to compete with A320 Neo's but couldn't properly build one from scratch

    • @themomentchannel3498
      @themomentchannel3498 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@adityanihlani8804 yeah, infact the 737 NG family (600-900) was the only generation of the 737 that didn’t have significant design flaws or weaknesses, only minor thing it had was that it tended to bank right slightly which combined with pilot error and bad CRM led to a crash in 2007.

    perfectly made video. But Airbus planes do not have this nose-up problem. Boeing needs to bring the engines underneath the wing and construct longer landing gear. Then the 737 will fly aerodynamically stable like the A-320.

      Your point is right on! That's the key. Yet Boeing is letting everybody be distracted by focusing on the sensors, the MCAS system and training when the root of the problem is the aerodynamics. They compromised safety to save cost by changing the aerodynamics then compromised safety a second time implementing a compensator for the first mistake, the bigger engines. The want to keep away from having to change the aerodynamics back again by focusing only on MCAS. Very sneaky.

      Boeing airplanes don't have a nose up problem either. Think… if there is a nose up problem because of the engine location and MCAS is needed to correct it, why is MCAS inactive when the autopilot is turned on? Does the aerodynamics change when the AP is engaged? Must be smart aerodynamics! Or do the engines move under the wing when the AP is engaged? And do you always pretend to be an aerodynamics expert? Or just on TH-cam?

      @lenny108 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@petep.2092 Right, MCAS has to permanently push the plane's nose down because it would constantly go up.

    6:03 it's not Boeing's problem that India doesn't have any simulators. All that shows is that Indian airlines are not willing to invest in simulators.!

    It seems so obvious that a fucking commercial AIRPLANE wouldn't rely on one freaking sensor like that without letting the pilots know it's status and with no other backup data...one sensor. Like wtf why did that happen. It took people dying to install 2 sensors....ok
