For everyone taking about the suspected crash on a flight from Jakarta, that plane was a 27-year-old Boeing 737-500, not a 737 Max 8. Whilst scary, it is unrelated. Wishing all the best to those onboard and their families, hopefully there can be some positive developments (although unlikely).

@@anshumanborah American maintenance is also shit. The truth is, you guys downplay other countries when you also have a problem. I am European sided so I like Airbus more bc countries cooperate to build aircraft and that sounds like a good idea. Im not going on a 737 max at all in all my life. My friends and family know to avoid any 737 max ticket and other aircraft. It just blows my mind how much safer and kinder the Airbus company is. And no, the 737 MAX will almost never recover and surpass the A320neo (being the fastest selling aircraft). This is what you Boeing slimes get. If it's boeing, I ain't going.

Becuase it aint that easy. The landing gear design of 737 makes it really hard to extend the gears beyond a point. It's better to make a whole new aircraft than to extend the gear
