If you come for 24 hours, this might be your experience but this is NOTHING like what it is like to be a Western expat living in Tirana. If you take a long term rent in Blloku, you will live a very Western style life with light touch of Albanian culture. She kept returning to Skanderbeg Square where people don't actually go. You could see that with only a handful of people who are actually only taking a shortcut on their way to somewere else. The Bazaar, as well, is small and half empty. On the other hand, go to Toptani Mall and the cafes are full. Taiwan center, which she also didn't show, is full for most of the time. Well, I could go on, but the point is that Tirana is more like Dua Lipa than the little pockets of old Albanian traditional culture. When she came to Tirana and did a concert in Skanderbeg Square, the place was absolutely packed.
Thanks for your comment! I believe you are completely right, and good to know for people staying in Tirana for multiple days/weeks/months 🙌🏻 As a Norwegian traveler wanting to learn more about Albanian culture and history in a few hours, these places were perfect, but if I'd had more time in Tirana, I would definitely have visited other more "Western" places also.
At your 10"15 min. there are 3 big trees with the ruins of an old catholic church SANTA MARIA dating years 900.Than at your10;50min another 100 meters up to the hill there is a byzantin castlle dating years 600(Justinian emperor)
After that bunk cart visit you where speechless and shocked. That is just a small part of dark side of Albania that went through 45 years of communism just because they were speaking out to freedom. Anyway now we are free to move forward. Albania has some interesting archeologycal places, old cities and beautiful beaches. Thanks for your video.
It was really interesting to learn more about Albania's history. Definitely shocking. Got to see some of the archeological sites and old cities - Albania is a beautiful country!
Have you visited Tirana? What is your favorite part about the city? 🤩
Yes I have I’m here now and I like the modern cafes and restaurants with excellent coffee and food.
That's a good one! Enjoy your time there :)
@@kristinesolhaug you missed the good restaurant called Ballkoni Dajtit at the top of the mountain next to the cable car.
@@kristinesolhaug are you still in Tirana?
Sadly we missed it - I've heard the one by the cable car is good! No, moved on to explore more of the country.

Οι Αλβανοί φίλοι μου είναι οι πιο έξυπνοι άνθρωποι στην Γη και οι πιο δουλευταράδες!!!!! Μπράβο τους!!!!

Όπως οι άλλοι Χίτλερ της Αλβανίας που κατηγορούσαν τη μητέρα απτή Κένυα που άφηνε τη κόρη της να μετακομίσει στην Αλβανία όταν έγινε η βία στα Τίρανα;
