I really feel for Mike. He’s endured childhood trauma, and every time he’s triggered by a similar situation, he relives those overwhelming feelings of fear, powerlessness, and domination. When this happens, he often turns to overcompensation and aggression as a way to cope. Many trauma and abuse survivors experience this, and it’s a common symptom of Complex PTSD. Therapy can be incredibly helpful for those who struggle with this, allowing them to start a healing journey. Starting mine was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Group therapy help me greatly to maintain. It gave me tools to keep that coping mechanism under control, medication can do so much. Behavior therapy and group support is way better on a every day basis. Im today 8 months since my last "relapse" into overcompensating violence.
This cant be just steroids. Mike has some deep rooted problems. I was bullied every god damn day in school and never have i thought about shit like this. When school was over this shit was over. Sometimes you should forgive and forget to get your own happiness back. The world isnt fair and if he was as "phylosophical" as he thinks he wouldnt say nor think shit like this...
Watching Dr. Mike Israetel express his unhinged and sadistic thoughts reminds me that is far better to be wise than intelligent. What is the distinction between wisdom and intelligence? The difference is intelligence is a measurement of our ability to achieve objectives, while wisdom is the ability to determine whether those objectives are worth achieving. Dr. Israetel maybe highly intelligent, but he is deficient in wisdom. He knows all the scientific minutiae to build muscle, but he isn't contemplative enough to ask if the price to achieve this gargantuan physique is worth it?
He’s in control in the interview for sure, and in general it would seem. He’s a smart guy and he’s having fun with the interview - but he’s also being honest as usual - and In the end, he is very unhealthy and he is a potential bomb - mentally and physically. Part of being high intelligence means having good emotional discipline and executive function control… but if he keeps at it with all various drugs, he could snap one day and really do something stupid.
He's not a psychopath. He seems like a guy who was bullied as a kid and tries to be intimidating as an adult. Psychopathy is more unexplainable and emotionless.
Some psychopaths will make up trauma as a mask. That whole frequency thing he mentioned sounded kind of like dialing it back to make it sound more believable, which is common. Of course, he could be telling the truth. There just isn't enough information and never will be on our side.
I think you are misunderstanding what psychopathy is. They do have emotions and they feel those, but they dont believe other people have them. Or at the very least they can't feel for other people, they lack the capacity for empathy. In my opinion Mike gives psychopath/sociopath vibes harder than last time!
I was bullied all my school years, since kindergarten. I had ed through my teenage years, was s harassed, and r**ed multiple times. I gained my confidence only at 18 when I started working out and pursued therapy.

Yeah but they exacerbate everything. They make him more likely to follow through with those thoughts. If he thinks in this "alpha" way he just shouldn't cross the wrong guy. There are quite a few guys that like fighting, pain, and other things Mike fantasizes about is what some men live for.
@@JimmyJones-w3p that's not true. No one fantasies about being murdered via baseball bat. Also there's a lot of mass murderers who never took roids and went on a killing spree on pure natural rage. He was like this from early and considering he hasn't murdered anyone yet despite the roids; I think it hasn't added anything that wasn't already there before.
Yeah i had thoughts like that as well as others from when i was like 6 or 7 years old, probably from playing Mortal Kombat, Quake and GTA and shit since i was like 4. Chances are Mike just had exposure to some shit in his childhood in the USSR that was subconsciously engrained and led to him being how he is.
That's the crux of roid rage. Steroids don't *cause* aggressive behaviour, but if you already have underlying anger issues, it will exacerbate them. And aggressive people are typically over-represented in steroid users. Much like how marijuana doesn't cause psychosis, but if you're predisposed to it, it may trigger or exacerbate an episode.
This isn’t use or even abuse of steroids. This is a deep psychological issue coupled with emotional problems and an inability to cope. Dr Mike got real problems.
I agree with the sociopath vibes, honestly. I recently saw him say "i hate working out, it's a waste of time. in the future we will have pharmaceuticals to take care of muscle growth." And i thought "why do these science types always tend to come to these inhuman sociopathic conclusions?"
How is that an inhuman sociopathic conclusion? What otherwordly logic dod you use to arrivd to this conclusion not only that but also write the comment here ! Wow! Just wow! It´s weird how so many people say they were bullied as kids but never actually talk about being bullied. Being picked on from time to time or losing a few fights is not being bullied. That´s just growing up and finding out that some people are just a-holes. Bullying is much worse.

I was 230lbs and ready to rage and at the same time ready to curl into a ball and sob endlessly. Fuck that. I'll stay natty *Edit: I realize I am no longer actually Natty but I will not do another ped. I was 215 when I started. By the time I hit 230 I did have some fluff. I took one of each with a meal, breakfast and dinner. At one point I cut down to one Deca two test then drop the DECA entirely then eventually drop to 1 test and finished the bottle. I'm naturally already a very intense person and it made everything that much more extreme. I quite literally realized I had become dangerous. I do have a lot of self-control but the tension was so high and my anxiety riddled brain was ready for war. It felt like I would be able to kill all of my enemies but I would be crying as I did it which was a crazy feeling. My experience does not make me soft it just shows that I shouldn't be doing it and I'm glad I'm not doing it. I have plenty of aggression in the gym and I'm still able to kill it even at 31. I'm finally back to normal got my bloods back. Test an estrogen are in healthy range. Mid-cycle my cortisol levels did Spike as well as my cholesterol. Second edit: I do think the two-step conversion process due to it being cyclosome delivery play the key role in my anxiety. I could not sleep whatsoever which made everything worse and I truly believe if I had been able to sleep I would have been in a much better place.
There's kids bullied by almost the whole school, bullied for years, some make 'attempts' even to escape it. That tiny amount of bullying he claims is an excuse for sure. He doesnt even become an anti-bully wanting to save others, it's all about poor him. Mike is gross...
It didn't sound to me that he was pro bullying. Also there are already a load of resources out there for those being bullied, Mike is an exercise scientist not a psychologist.
I believe the reason Mike has those sides from gear abuse is because he already had those proclivities. Even in early childhood, he fantasized of hurting the bully to an extreme extent. Gear use just amplifies your tendencies. Likely why others on gear haven't experienced this. Some people just get real anxious or sad.
Having these kinds of thoughts aren’t normal though. And his thoughts have persisted since childhood it seems. What Mike talks about in this interview is definitely concerning.

Just be aware, most people who grow up in a western country never experience any real hardship or trauma and are unlikely to have a proper understanding of how common these kinds of things are. This kind of thought pattern is a lot more common then people want to accept, simply because people won't be honest about it. Based on the way Greig and many commenters react to the words is very obvious as to why nobody wants to talk about the thoughts that they have.
Im today 8 months since my last "relapse" into overcompensating violence.
what fucking trauma?

Watching Dr. Mike Israetel express his unhinged and sadistic thoughts reminds me that is far better to be wise than intelligent. What is the distinction between wisdom and intelligence? The difference is intelligence is a measurement of our ability to achieve objectives, while wisdom is the ability to determine whether those objectives are worth achieving. Dr. Israetel maybe highly intelligent, but he is deficient in wisdom. He knows all the scientific minutiae to build muscle, but he isn't contemplative enough to ask if the price to achieve this gargantuan physique is worth it?

He's not a psychopath. He seems like a guy who was bullied as a kid and tries to be intimidating as an adult. Psychopathy is more unexplainable and emotionless.
Some psychopaths will make up trauma as a mask. That whole frequency thing he mentioned sounded kind of like dialing it back to make it sound more believable, which is common. Of course, he could be telling the truth. There just isn't enough information and never will be on our side.
@@AllTheHandlesTaken To me he seems the other way. Like he makes it sound worse than it is to make himself feel tough, cool and dangerous.

I think you are misunderstanding what psychopathy is. They do have emotions and they feel those, but they dont believe other people have them. Or at the very least they can't feel for other people, they lack the capacity for empathy. In my opinion Mike gives psychopath/sociopath vibes harder than last time!

If he was having these fantasies as a child then i don't think the steroids are to blame. This is just who he is with or without the roids.
@@Viewer2715 what the hell are you talking about?

*Edit: I realize I am no longer actually Natty but I will not do another ped.

I’m definitely not taking steroids now. I already have those thoughts on a daily basis 😅
Mike will be used as an example for the reason not to use steroids for many years.
I actually can relate to Mike. What’s important is that thoughts come and go, but your actions are what matter.
