Being perfectly honest, I hope that is not the case. It essentially means most people are not going to pay attention to the 'me' part of Mii. They were designed as simple avatars that...with enough effort can really end up being something really amazing. That's kind of why I find the 3DS Mii characters so cool. Because with the limits of the Mii Maker, we could create some really nice characters who can even resemble our favorite fictional characters. But now....those Miis just *become* the characters we intend to create. They just...don't feel like Miis to me. Honestly, I'm...not really sure how to feel about the revamped character customization being the highlight of this game when the game itself is amazing as well. And I see absolutely no one talking about the quality of life changes that make things so much better for 3DS players like myself.
PKoolAid I guess it depends on what you want. You seem to like Miis as a concept but I’m sure many people just want to bring their own character into the game and just tolerate the Mii system because it’s the easiest way to play as Waluigi in smash bros
@@pkoolaid4038 That's understandable, but I must admit miitopia didn't interest me much until the new system. Something about journeying with my favorite characters is far more appealing to me than traveling with vaguely representative versions of them or people I know irl. I also just enjoy playing around in character creators, so of course this hits big with me though.
Hopefully tomodatchi life is remade on the switch, and I also hope they allow gay couples, because the original miitopia only made Mii’s straight, yes unless you make a boy Mii with the girl gender, you cannot have gay couples.

I actually enjoyed this game a lot when it came out on 3DS - I really like how the characters' classes, skills, personalities and interpersonal relationships all *constantly* interact with each other, it does a lot to make each enemy encounter feel like more of an organic, albeit deeply silly, conflict involving a diverse group of people, rather than just a series of mechanical inputs - and I'm seriously tempted to get it again just to play through it with the more detailed Miis
Same here, but I just learned that you need Nintendo Switch Online in order to download Miis. As someone who rarely plays Switch games online, it's a huge bummer that if I want to get the full experience of the game, I either have to spend hours creating the Miis myself or buy like a month of Nintendo Switch online just for some Miis

this game is freaking beautiful graphically, it actually has an incredible story, and has sooooo soooooo much to do, and so much replayablity no one will have ever truly finished miitopia and this new mii maker and the horse and everything makes that so absolutely certain! This game deserves a better score at least an 8.5

This is 60 but its easily justified with the enhanced graphics ( seriously everything looks beautiful ) and the amount of content combined with the unique Mii Maker
That is the best way to play an rpg with a leveling system. Grinding isn’t fun and not meant to be played in long periods of time. While I never played the full game, I did play the heck out of the 3Ds demo when it was out

It’s that daunting price that turns me off, it’s a really cool looking game but 50 quid isn’t worth it. There’s many phenomenal games you could get for a wee bit less

Never played this on 3ds, tried the demo on switch and... Can confidently say this review is accurate AF. The battles and travel segments are a bit tedious, and interactions with standard miis are meh, but those same interactions with the 3 to 4 Mii friends we actually bothered to make on switch were HILARIOUS. Seeing my stoic friend played out as a flamboyant pop star is what dreams are made of. I won't rush to buy this game, but I'll spend time here and there slowly building up Mii army so that when I do, I'll have no shortage of miis to choose from. Stopping and having to make them during gameplay would be tedious for me, especially when you can customize then further with the makeup and wig tools, so I'd rather do that in my own pace and import them once I'm ready to give the game a second go.
I think I'm one of the few people who's made my characters "seriously." I wanted to make them look like cool characters in a fantasy story. Except my dark lord is Mr Clean.
I feel like the randomness of the 3ds using street pass gave it a certain charm. Idk if you can let the game decide and be truly random or you have to download but I got John Leno as a baby my first time and that really set the tone of the game

Other then that it does look like an awesome game, the graphics look amazing as well.
I put a bunch of hours into the original..not sure I want to play through again but I did grab the demo to create a Mii and try the new makeup and so forth. Really had more fun than I expected to with the original so who knows, maybe I will pick this up.
it would be cool if the outing included a minigame. fishing could be a simple catch a fish game, cooking could be a game where you make your food, karaoke could be a rhythem game like that one machine in splatoon, shopping could be a game where you catch falling food, cafe could be a game where you spam buttons to see who can finish their food first, seaside could be a surfing minigame or like a shell finding one. cinema could be one where you do the right reaction during a 30 second movie (this one is confusing and not that good) library could be a memory game. ranch could be a game where you have to keep the animals in the pen, garden would be a one where you have to keep bunnies or other animals away from your plants, gym could be a game where you try to get as many reps as posssible, and idk what else. im sure there is more outings, but these are the ones i currently have and can see on my list of tickets.
I wasn't sure since I'm not into Mii stuff. Thank god it has a demo, and it kept me rolling all over the floor because of the sheer stupidity. xD I think I'm going to buy it at some point, and I'm not against monotonous RPG combat systems.
I just marathoned the original, and it was still fun the 3rd time around. The game did become kinda boringly easy after Greenhorne, but it picks right back up again at Karkaton, the fun lasting all the way to the end! Currently in the postgame now, albiet using a different team currently. Also, the new Makeup makes way for some *seriously* impressive Miis! The game is worth it for that alone. It would be nice if you had the option to control Miis in the postgame - even just one that isn't the protagonist would've been nice, especially since there's no way to level down.
Honestly, after playing the demo and wanting more, I caved and bought the ds version (dirt cheap may I add) on Amazon. And man was it a threat! A few highlights from on top of my head: * Eggman as the first land king. Trump, Will Smith, Snoop Dog and friggin Putin as guards. * Having two Mortys (Hero character included) in the party. Extra hilarious when they fight each other since they both sound like Morty. * The god dammed elf dance at the end of the third land. * Shaggy as the explorer guy. (Also really good Shaggy Mii.) I'm looking forward to doing it all again on the switch.
David Bowie's persona with the Lightning bolt on their face was not Ziggy Stardust (I'm sure you were just referencing what the person who made the Mii named the character). This is a super common misconception (so common that if you look up Ziggy on Google Images, the first few are that of the iconic lightning bolt), But the persona with the lightning bolt was Aladdin Sane, while Ziggy Stardust had a gold circle in the middle of their forehead.
I literally just came in here to say i bought the game on a whim 2 nights ago, stayed up til 4am working on my first 2 miis and then stayed up til 3 last night refusing to sleep until i completed every area up until the end of Arid Frontier. Whether u make up characters on the spot, add your favorite fictional characters, make your OCs, fill it with memes, or idk, put you and your friends in it, the RPG itself is genuinely engaging. Maybe that’s only because it’s fun to watch? I dunno. Time to actually watch the review and see how redundant this was lol
I loved miitopia on the 3DS so I literally screamed when it was announced and got it launch day. i love it. Even after playing through it 3-4 times on the 3DS I still love it now that it's on the switch.

I do miss having the ability to have completely random cast members pulled from a public pool of popular Miis. Yes, a lot more is possible, but you have to look up access codes, or get good and making Miis yourself. I just want to push a button that does chaos lol
I am DESPERATE for a Tomodachii Life sequel on the switch with the new Mii customization and a bigger island. (And customizable romance/gender preference options would be fantastic as well, but knowing Nintendo that’s probably even less likely than Metroid Prime 4 actually releasing within the next 5 years. :( )
I think it's really hilarious with some of the situations I've created (like Lovey-Dovey Couple Mario & Waluigi) but after a little while, it began to get tedious.

I played the demo, and my starting party is Link (warrior), Sheik (rogue), Zelda (cleric), and the horse is Epona of course! I dont think Ill pay full price for it (bought it twice on 3DS), but Ill watch for a used copy.
It's still a 3DS game. It's baffling how they couldn't make a 3DS game that ran at 30fps...run at 60fps on the switch. If we compare this 3DS port to rune factory 4 special which was a 3DS game, rune factory 4 special is still $40 which was the original price AND it goes on sale for about $23. Miitopia is $50, $10 MORE than the original price.
TBH as much as I enjoyed Miitopia on the 3DS, I don't think it was really worth the full $40 retail price. It was fun and charming, but I just don't think it had enough substance to have the same price as main series games like Pokemon or Mario. I'm definitely not going to be spending another $50 on this port, even though the new features like the horse and the makeup system look nice.
I created a party of myself, Clara Oswald, Amy Pond, Rory Williams and the male horse called Susan from the Doctor Who episode A Town Called Mercy on the demo, and it was so much fun seeing these fictional characters running around with myself.
For me since I have the 3ds version, it a Maybe for the switch version, one is because I already know the ending for the game and Hidden Jobs, two the switch features a Inn cutscenes like the horses name, three there are new features that makes it more easy, the horses is basically a trump card, if you use the Horse whisperer skill, over your Mii Not having any Mana points, but the makeup system is great for people to create crazy Miis or creepy ones like the Demon Pikachu
This is honestly one of my favorite Switch RPGs due to how insanely customizable it is. I could fight alongside Waluigi, Dixie Kong, Skull Kid, and Captain Syrup from WarioLand and fight the Dark Lord Garfield and meet King Handsome Squidward and Princess Blue from Blue's Clues.
Playing the miitopia demo, I’ve really enjoyed it, I want to get the game, mainly for how fun and crazy it is, I also really liked making miis on my ds, and this would give me more reasons to continue to make miis on my switch
Miitopia is a great game. I love it on the 3DS and I love it on the Switch. I love all the funny characters and with creativity it can be a lot of fun. I mostly used Miis from the 3DS but I love them. For the shady merchant I have Magikarp and that still makes me happy. For characters I have ones like Spider-Man who I have say Pizza Time and Shaggy who says Zoinks. I like the little touches like that. I've played it on and off for two years and I have 59 or 60% of the all the badges now. It was my favorite Switch game the year it came out and I think it was the only game I bought that year. For me it's a 10/10.

it would be cool if the outing included a minigame. fishing could be a simple catch a fish game, cooking could be a game where you make your food, karaoke could be a rhythem game like that one machine in splatoon, shopping could be a game where you catch falling food, cafe could be a game where you spam buttons to see who can finish their food first, seaside could be a surfing minigame or like a shell finding one. cinema could be one where you do the right reaction during a 30 second movie (this one is confusing and not that good) library could be a memory game. ranch could be a game where you have to keep the animals in the pen, garden would be a one where you have to keep bunnies or other animals away from your plants, gym could be a game where you try to get as many reps as posssible, and idk what else. im sure there is more outings, but these are the ones i currently have and can see on my list of tickets.
I wasn't sure since I'm not into Mii stuff.
Thank god it has a demo, and it kept me rolling all over the floor because of the sheer stupidity. xD
I think I'm going to buy it at some point, and I'm not against monotonous RPG combat systems.

I just marathoned the original, and it was still fun the 3rd time around. The game did become kinda boringly easy after Greenhorne, but it picks right back up again at Karkaton, the fun lasting all the way to the end!

Also, the new Makeup makes way for some *seriously* impressive Miis! The game is worth it for that alone. It would be nice if you had the option to control Miis in the postgame - even just one that isn't the protagonist would've been nice, especially since there's no way to level down.

Honestly, after playing the demo and wanting more, I caved and bought the ds version (dirt cheap may I add) on Amazon. And man was it a threat!
A few highlights from on top of my head:
* Eggman as the first land king. Trump, Will Smith, Snoop Dog and friggin Putin as guards.
* Having two Mortys (Hero character included) in the party. Extra hilarious when they fight each other since they both sound like Morty.
* The god dammed elf dance at the end of the third land.
* Shaggy as the explorer guy. (Also really good Shaggy Mii.)
I'm looking forward to doing it all again on the switch.

David Bowie's persona with the Lightning bolt on their face was not Ziggy Stardust (I'm sure you were just referencing what the person who made the Mii named the character). This is a super common misconception (so common that if you look up Ziggy on Google Images, the first few are that of the iconic lightning bolt), But the persona with the lightning bolt was Aladdin Sane, while Ziggy Stardust had a gold circle in the middle of their forehead.
Glad someone knows their Bowie personas around here.

I literally just came in here to say i bought the game on a whim 2 nights ago, stayed up til 4am working on my first 2 miis and then stayed up til 3 last night refusing to sleep until i completed every area up until the end of Arid Frontier. Whether u make up characters on the spot, add your favorite fictional characters, make your OCs, fill it with memes, or idk, put you and your friends in it, the RPG itself is genuinely engaging. Maybe that’s only because it’s fun to watch? I dunno. Time to actually watch the review and see how redundant this was lol

I loved miitopia on the 3DS so I literally screamed when it was announced and got it launch day. i love it. Even after playing through it 3-4 times on the 3DS I still love it now that it's on the switch.
I played the demo, it's fun to see the miis in a real game but I didn't love the gameplay.. Would love to see them try this with other games though

I do miss having the ability to have completely random cast members pulled from a public pool of popular Miis. Yes, a lot more is possible, but you have to look up access codes, or get good and making Miis yourself. I just want to push a button that does chaos lol

I think it's really hilarious with some of the situations I've created (like Lovey-Dovey Couple Mario & Waluigi) but after a little while, it began to get tedious.
It was better when we had the mii central section to just browse and download the miis to easily fill the slots

I played the demo, and my starting party is Link (warrior), Sheik (rogue), Zelda (cleric), and the horse is Epona of course! I dont think Ill pay full price for it (bought it twice on 3DS), but Ill watch for a used copy.
It's still a 3DS game. It's baffling how they couldn't make a 3DS game that ran at 30fps...run at 60fps on the switch. If we compare this 3DS port to rune factory 4 special which was a 3DS game, rune factory 4 special is still $40 which was the original price AND it goes on sale for about $23. Miitopia is $50, $10 MORE than the original price.
TBH as much as I enjoyed Miitopia on the 3DS, I don't think it was really worth the full $40 retail price. It was fun and charming, but I just don't think it had enough substance to have the same price as main series games like Pokemon or Mario. I'm definitely not going to be spending another $50 on this port, even though the new features like the horse and the makeup system look nice.

I created a party of myself, Clara Oswald, Amy Pond, Rory Williams and the male horse called Susan from the Doctor Who episode A Town Called Mercy on the demo, and it was so much fun seeing these fictional characters running around with myself.
For me since I have the 3ds version, it a Maybe for the switch version, one is because I already know the ending for the game and Hidden Jobs, two the switch features a Inn cutscenes like the horses name, three there are new features that makes it more easy, the horses is basically a trump card, if you use the Horse whisperer skill, over your Mii Not having any Mana points, but the makeup system is great for people to create crazy Miis or creepy ones like the Demon Pikachu

This is honestly one of my favorite Switch RPGs due to how insanely customizable it is. I could fight alongside Waluigi, Dixie Kong, Skull Kid, and Captain Syrup from WarioLand and fight the Dark Lord Garfield and meet King Handsome Squidward and Princess Blue from Blue's Clues.

Playing the miitopia demo, I’ve really enjoyed it, I want to get the game, mainly for how fun and crazy it is, I also really liked making miis on my ds, and this would give me more reasons to continue to make miis on my switch

Miitopia is a great game. I love it on the 3DS and I love it on the Switch.
I love all the funny characters and with creativity it can be a lot of fun. I mostly used
Miis from the 3DS but I love them. For the shady merchant I have Magikarp and that still makes me happy.
For characters I have ones like Spider-Man who I have say Pizza Time and Shaggy who says Zoinks.
I like the little touches like that.
I've played it on and off for two years and I have 59 or 60% of the all the badges now.
It was my favorite Switch game the year it came out and I think it was the only game I bought that year.
For me it's a 10/10.
