Something is definitely wrong here. I've sat in a hatch A Class and it didn't do this. Perhaps the US gets models built elsewhere? We get those built in Germany.

It is certainly Peppy enough, The technology is amazing (The ambient lighting is stunning). And, amazingly, I have really come to like the voice command with “hey Mercedes” much more than I thought I would have. It is great at finding destinations, and controlling temperatures, sun blinds,etc...And don’t forget changing the ambient lighting to available 64 colors. Thanks again! This car not only looks beautiful, but it is fun to drive!
Brought an A 220 Executive AMG Line, first ever Mercedes, went from Landrover. Build quality is amazing, no issues in this past year, unlike my Landrover. Going for a bigger model next year, perhaps GLC. MBUK with the sat nav is amazing
I just bought an A class for 42k. I love it so far. It’s the first car I’ve ever purchased from a dealer and it’s good just to test the waters with Mercedes. In a few years when the C is upgraded im going to switch to an AMG version. Plus I’ll have saved way more money by then.
I recently had a CLA250 4matic as a loaner for a day. The 2.0T was surprisingly sporty for only 208hp on an AWD car. A tune will get you to about 250hp. The brakes were quite good. The only thing I wasn't really impressed with was the non-sporty handling. The CLA250 makes for a nice highway car, but I would not enjoy it in any emergency maneuvering. Not a car for twisty roads (neither is my SL500, though, but that's because the SL weighs half a ton more). The car really needs a sportier suspension. Maybe thee A220 will fix that.
0-96.56 km/h in 7 sec sounds good enough for me. For transporting the kids and so on that's fine and also for a little bit of fun on the side. The interior looks real nice but I'm not sure it will be as fun as Audi or Cupra Leon/Formentor.

I test drove this car; I've got a bit of a lead foot, and when I hammered the throttle to get through the on-ramp, nothing happened. The lag in power is pretty extreme, even for a family sedan. Very disappointed.
Both Avalon and CLA will deprecate at the same rate. Don't believe me? Go to kbb and select 2016 of each car with 40,000 miles, highest trim, price with standard features, and excellent condition. Private party value is the same. The CLA is a tiny car and comparing a full size Avalon to a tiny car proves nothing. In actuallity shows that a full size car deprecates even more.
The Truth it’s a low end vehicle from a brand that’s proved to have middling reliability. The tech features are only nice until electronic gremlins creep in. I’ll admit this would be nice as a lease but I wouldn’t consider buying it
@@bradlewis8753 compare to a mazda definitely yes. The A class is in the same category of Audi A3 and BMW series 1. Look the material inside. It is not cheap plastic like you have in common car. The design is way more advance as the regular car. You will see it if you have any taste.

Argh. You Americans are exhausting complaining about horse power. How much do you need? You don't even get the C180 which has a 1.6 turbo with 156hp and that is even more than adequate in a car that is heavier and larger (the C Class). So what is the issue? And in any case this is German horses not Japanese or American so other cars may make more horsepower but they will still be slower and feel slower.
Americans have de delusion that they go over 60 mph in city and that they always have to dragrace from trafficlight to trafficlight. I have an A200 2019. 1.3 4-cylinder with 160+ HP. Got cylinder deactivation ability also. I dont need more power + I got amazing fuel economy. *LOL*
I wish Mercedes wouldn’t cheapen their products. I understand that they have to appeal to younger buyers though. I loved my GLK that I had a few years ago. Pretty soon these A class will be nothing but a badge. I chose to purchase a Lexus ES 350, but get one L/certified so that I can have all features at an affordable price.
@@damieg82 But in this day and age it is easy to get more than 188hp out of a 2.0L turbo and achieve great gas mileage. I understand there is a sportier version albeit it will be the AMG version for 30k more which is ridiculous. This is a sport coupe and 188hp doesn't scream sport anything. Just my opinion :-)

The old A45 AMG is also a 2 litre turbo with 360 horses, the new A45 with 2 litre turbo will have +400 horses. Merces can do it, there is simply no need to put a high performance engine in a daily drive entry-level Mercedes.
I was thinking of getting this car..but for the $32 Mercedes is basically selling you the badge alone. Imagine how this car would look like for that price. Very shitty and plane!

Jack The Lad CLA is not a coupe to me. I come from sport cars and coupes and they all have 2 doors. Same with bmw I have a 428i right now and I chose the true coupe with 2 doors not a sedan labeled the Gran Coupe. Sorry but a coupe has 2 doors only and that’s my view on it.
Lol Mercedes tricking the middle class into buying an “entry level” car that’s the same as their most expensive ones. Unreliable. 35k Benz is gonna cost you another 30k in repairs in the next year or 2 even if you keep up with its basic maintenance. Don’t be fooled.

I drove the loaner it horrible the seats are like go kart seats,I just didn’t like the handling on it 😭
For about 10k less you can grab a new Mazda 3 which honestly looks much nicer to me

James Cribb the A250 hatchback we have in Canada is 2.0 l with 221 HP and 258 torque. More than enough.
I like the E-Class. For the price of the A-Class, I could buy two 2019 Hyundai Sonatas, which look better.
