probably your are more than 2 m tall man. I am 1,87 m tall and can easily fit behind myself in this car, something i couldn't say for the previous generation. Rear passenger space is by no means bad

As an A-Class owner i can say that NO-ONE has ever had an issue with the space in the back - when the front 2 seats are positioned normally, theres more than enough space in the back - the boot also is massive for a hatch back. Performance is amazing - handling and speed alike.
To be fair its a small car you don't expect it to have masses of space. If you wanted rear space you would buy an E-class, obviously you would need more money aswell as the E-class is a few steps up in class. 😂

I love the fact he was arguing with the voice control system! He’s hilarious. I love those little looks he gives the camera.
I own an a200 AMG line. I found myself arguing with the voice control on the first day I bought it. I've now set it to only listen via the toggle on the steering wheel, much less frustrating.
good review apart from the rear seat legroom, there is plenty! i often have 4 adults in my A180 and the rear passengers comment on having loads of room in the back! seems some people drive almost lying down..
i had a test drive in a 2001 series and really enjoyed it . dog is lovin the electric seats . thanks for uploading

I'd heard of that roundabout but never seen it in action. Actually had a nervous twitch at you trying to navigate it while being shouted at by the sat nav lol
Handwrittenhysteria - I used to live in Swindon and there are two ways of using this roundabout. I used to go round the mini-roundabouts on the outer edge of this one huge roundabout that is in the middle, this was a good way to navigate your way round and it was easy to come off as well. The brave ones would use the large roundabout in the middle, it was quicker but more difficult to exit.

Having been on the Magic Roundabout it's got to be about the severest test of a sat-nav system, but that was hysterical!
It took my Mercedes dealer six days to replace a tire, under warranty, no courtesy car and paying two and a half times the online price for it. Lovely car though.

As for the cars interior voice control. I have the same problem at home with my Alexa "intelligent speaker". I ask her to do something, and she queeries it. I ask her to clean the car, and she queries that too.
So now I've resorted to asking my missus to do things too. Now that's not gone so well for me as I thought it might have. If truth be told.
I'm currently upstairs in the bedroom... That's where she's sent me. Not sure if it's as punishment or to keep me away from visitors who might query the "recent" bruising that I have aquired?

I also have problems with my back and this car really didn’t help at first. I have managed to adjust the chair to be slightly more supportive of my lower back

Having been to the magic roundabout once, I can safely say it's hell on earth.
Lived local for a few years. If you tackle each part as a separate roundabout it makes it far easier to navigate through 👍🏻

I had one of these as a courtesy car for 2 weeks. Drives fantastic but way too much technology and constant accidentally swiping on the steering controls and the mouse becomes tedious in the end. Couldn't wait to get back into my 2014 a-class.

Just purchased one . Had a jaguar xe beforehand and loved its look but the interior was mmmm the Mercedes isn't as beautiful but interior is better

The backseats have plenty of legroom, I have the new a class. You have put the seats as far back and as low as they go. You should have the seat in your ACTUAL driving position. My dad is 6 foot 3 and when he drives I can sit comfortably behind him.

I have a face lift 66 A45 and I honestly think the dash and interior is miles better in the previous gen to the new one.

I agree. I have just bought a 16 plate facelift Amg-line.. The interior is truly beautiful. I looked at the new A class but I really hate everything being on a screen.. I prefer analogue dials..

It may depend the country you live... In Switzerland the ambient light is optional (and it's also included in the premium package)
A200 is better than A180, it's more fun to drive apparently

Lovely car no doubt, but one can't help but think that the design of (the interior and exterior of) this latest A-Class will age terribly years down the line.
I own an A200 AMG line. You have to see the interior in person to truly appreciate it. I watched a tonne of videos before I drove one & the videos just don't do it justice.
One thing that shocked me when I first test drove it is how much bigger the car is in person. It makes a Golf look tiny & the rear seat space is much bigger than this guy lets on. I'm 6'2" and I could fit in the seat behind my driver's seat.

The voice control in my Volvo is useless as well .
I've had one of these when the C class went in for a pano roof issue. A250 4-matic - yes very quick but also very boring with no sense of speed. Yes it does look good, and the interior is flashy but the quality is poor compared to something like an A3. Rear seat space is definitely an issue too - its got about the same as my coupe which is disappointing
a3 no electric folding mirrors, no rear camera, appalling breakdown history.
I brought a 2019 one and the M box gone faulty after 4 months still waiting to have it fixed this is the trouble with all this technology 😡

Makes the interior in the more premium C-class look outdated. The exterior on the latter model i heaps better tough.
Until you realise the materials used in the a class don't feel anywhere near as premium as the c class.
@@robertconnors2343 Well, there's a substantial prize difference so there has to be something separating them after all, or else it would feel even worse for the C-class owners. But the C-class is in serious need of an interior update, particularly the front console with the display and all. It doesn't look the part at all inside, the A-class is so much better in that department. Shouldn't be like that. It's like someone had premium values in mind for the exterior but used an old obsolete design language for the interior.

only the amg in these get the true Mercedes engine.... otherwise its a Renault dressed as Mercedes...interiors are nice though

This car is Premium Plus, with the optional navigation augmented reality - which all adds considerable cost. Rear seats - seem fine to me? My A35 is super quick and feels bigger than an S3 inside, would recommend an A Class.

5:00 Everytime I hear the "age & technology" well frankly makes my blood boil. Most of this tech was developed by people who are now middle-aged or older. I own a Data Center, so you must be looking or thinking about all the uneducated -idiots- people around you.
BTW my 82 year old mother just purchased a fully loaded A Class with all the tech Mercedes offers on the car.
While put a tad offensively, I kind of understand you. Many car reviewers comment on how difficult it is, even heard one saying you need several weeks to learn it. Most of the world is run by technology, and as such most jobs require you to be able to use a computer. Even most entertainment nowadays require you can use the bare minimum difficulty of tech, which is honestly where the MBUX sits. If you can't use this car due to the tech then you are honestly far behind the whole world, and that can't be a negative point of the car.

My friend's recently passed 93 year old father was day trading on his iMac Pro / iPad Pro / iPhone X days before his death. People nearly 200,000 years ago were equally intelligent though be it without the current obsessive toy technology. I'd actually say the younger people are actually less educated than their parents. Education seems to be unimportant to far too many people.
It's rare I run across people younger than myself with more of a technology understanding.
The MBUX is set-up to accommodate a barely High School educated person.

overpriced.a base model a180 in Australia is $41,000 including on roads for the automatic.a big ask when the Mazda dealer can get you into a 3 Pure Automatic for $10 shy of $27000 drive away that if you add on an alarm is about $27910 genuine.none of this turbo crap either and Mazda you can even negotiate 10 to 15% off list if you like.badge snobs excepted would you buy one.
