I believe everyone was waiting to see the new cv drive shaft but you showed so much more. The differences in the castings and the Roller tappets is just an amazing update and upgrade. Well done Ilya and David.
@@americandude3825 I would say it's slightly less reliable than most other average bikes but it's much more overbuilt and less likely to break due to heavy use. They are maintenance heavy though and require a lot more frequent oil changes and greasing u joints and such but the maintenance is really easy as you don't have to disassemble everything to get to stuff. The newer ones are significantly more reliable than the older ones though.

Hi guys, you mentionned "the sidecar guys" who rode 2100 miles with no issue, that's great. Nice guys. Just so you know, we've been travelling on our 2011 carburated Ural for 6 months, 20 000km, with only one minor issue. It will soon reach 70 000km, and it still runs like a clock. Maybe, the next generation Ural will be more reliable, but one thing is for sure : they still are way easier to fix than many other bikes. And that's an amazing quality. Thank you guys !!
I'm considering buying a new Ural Gear Up in the spring of 2023 and this gives me a lot more confidence in the machine. Good work everyone. I hope to visit the factory in Irbit and Kazakhstan some day.
Thank you for the update! I agree that Ural has not shown off the improvements over the past years. Even in comparison to my old 2016, the improvements are great to see. It may be time to add a Ural to my stable again! Though, pricing sure has gone up over the past years. Hopefully global sourcing problems will get better and prices will not increase.
Hi Dave, thanks for the updates, I purchased my 2020 CT based on the ongoing improvements & upgrades. I get people telling me how unreliable Urals are occasionally ( their thoughts are about 30 or 40 years out of date ) I am pleased with my Ural CT that I use for touring, it pulls like train & uses less fuel than I had anticipated. It is the best riding motorcycle I've had. I like history & uniqueness of it not to mention it's versatility. Cheers for a great Christmas & safe.
I have an older Ural and will upgrade eventually, but I want to say how great it is to see you continually improve the bike! The history of the company is nothing less than spectacular and will go down in motorcycle history.
Very informative! Thanks for sharing! I’m on my 2nd. Ural (2010 Gear Up) I have 104,000 Kms. on her. Have things broken? Yes. But nothing that couldn’t be addressed. My Dealer (Holopaw,Fl. Ural) has been stellar in support for all my Ural experiences of now over 15 years. Have a very Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy new year! Peace….
These are excellent changes, on top of the continuous improvements that have been made with each new model year! We're getting VERY tempted to upgrade to a new Ural. I can't bear the thought of retiring our current 1998 Ural (still running strong with 105,000km on it!), but these new bikes are better in every way!
Modern urals have quirks, but are fairly reliable when used as intended. It’s great to see the company make changes with each passing year. These current changes are massive.

I love love love my 2012 Gear Up, but the pricing of Ural has gone beyond my ability to pay, I'm sorry. Wonderful updates. BTW, I have about 8000 miles (US) on my Gear Up with 100% reliability and I'm not easy on the rig. Lots of off roading, winter donuts, riding around rutted mountain roads in Arizona getting air, and highway miles at 60-65mph. We love the Gear Up! The only issue was over-torqued engine hardware that caused literally every gasket to leak. I replaced all the gaskets and torqued all hardware to spec and not a drop of leakage after that maintenance. Please tell the factory workers to use a torque wrench. Happy new year Ural!!!
I had a 06 Tourist, found it to be reasonably reliable, replaced it with a 21 Ct and it has 10,000 ish miles and is dead reliable. Absolutely no issues at all.
I have a Ural gear up, and the biggest problem when off roading in rough terrain is the transmission's low gear is not low enough to crawl along without riding the clutch. Why hasn't Ural developed a Hi & Low range transmission, like the early BMW R75, or even the Honda Trail 90 & ATVs ? It would be the greatest improvement to these bikes.

This is the worst motorcycle ever and an irresponsible company. My 2022 ural Gear Up has driven 200 kilometers and it has not been repaired for 8 months, and it is still in the motorcycle company.
There’s always one whiner. 🤣
Get your money back and do something else. Ural is a great company. I wouldn’t have left a bike at a dealer for 8 months. Do better.
Sorry to hear you're having issues with your 2022 Ural. Would you please contact us at info@ural.com so we can assist you.
@@UralMotorcyclesOfficial my comment is address a fault of the customers. I feel lack of communication on his end. I Love the company and love the changes your making. The fact that your here trying to help is better communication than I have seen from giants like Harley. Keep it up. I hope to pick up a Ural in 23.
Ural is not Honda. Tools and ability is required. When I got my first Ural, a 1996, it was the most unreliable like that I had ever owned. It was the most unreliable machine that I ever owned! With help from others on a Ural chat board it was soon running fine. I traded it in on a 2002 which was much better.
