Oh my gosh I love this video. I am a beginner and men don't want to show me things because I constantly hear "you don't want to do that". Yes, I do will you show me. They laugh and they do it themselves. You are awesome for knowing all this stuff and teaching it to old chicks like me.

I've seen other multi-purpose work benches, but yours is by far the best designed and executed one I've seen. I built a table saw using a circular saw a few months ago, and through trial and error I ended up only making it where 90° cuts can be made. Your solution of making a 45° cut through the circular saw base made me slap my forehead and ask why I didn't think of that myself. I made my table saw portable, (once the the circular saw and its base is removed the table folds up), but I only did that because I wanted to be able to cut the pieces for my fence where I was working on it, and for now I have to work outside until I get my garage cleaned out to have room to work inside of it. Once I have the room, the idea of a moveable multi-use work bench makes sense for my needs. Thanks again for another great build and video.

I have it for one day, and I already in love with it! This workbench is extremely versatile, sturdy, and pleasure to work with. I have included several photos showing different ways to secure work items on it, and I love that clamps are strong, smooth, and stored in special places under the table. Great product for your small home workshop!

You have done a beautiful job, both in design and building your bench. While it is something you are obviously not going to change on your finished unit, I would make one tiny but inevitably important change to the plans...
The 90 degree corners on the bench table... especially at the front... are something that will hurt you if you run into them.
I would recommend rounding the point of the corner... one pass with the rasp is enough to make a big difference.
    Keep up the excellent work!

Just another option so that the tools are out of the way when working with larger pieces make 1 more insert for each tool slot. So when not in use it can be put away and you have a nice clear working area.

Hi Wonderfull clean looking design. I'm new to wood working and would love to build your table. Is there any disadvantage in having one opening and multiple inserts for each of the three tools? Especsially if you are going yo make blanking plates to get the others out of the way to create the clear surface .@@CreativityHero

To be fair the router should easily be able to lower as most routers are plunge routers, and to get the inverted jigsaw out of the way the blade should come off in a couple of seconds

I just found your video and it is excellent work. I do believe however that you have the wiring wrong. If I'm not mistaken, you have the load (hot) going to the outlet first and connect it via the neutral to the switch. This means that if you flip the switch, there is still a hot wire connected to the outlet which could be dangerous even if the system is grounded). I have always been taught (not an electrician though) that the circuit interruption should be on the hot side, not the neutral. So you bring the hot wire to the switch first and connect the outlet via the neutral (that is usually also how your lamps are connected). When the switch is flipped, the hot wire is active inside the switch and there is no danger. If I'm wrong I apologize beforehand, just making the comment for safety reasons 🙂

What an excellent job!! I just wish I had the room to do something similar!! I was thinking of maybe something a little smaller, making the tool insert slightly smaller but the inserts the same size so that I can interchange the tools....hmmm got me thinking now!!

Thanks Damian! You can definitely make much smaller workbench, and instead three openings, you can make one, with as many inserts as you need, one for each tool you have. This idea would work. You can send me some photos once you're done with your workbench. :D
